Well we passed our final inspection (even though we've been living back here for two years ). Ironic, isn't it that we just had our Katrina final inspection and now we might get wiped out again from Gustav?

That makes me want to cry.

It is sad. It is weird being in this house because I am a worried mess, yet DH is absolutely calm and says this won't happen to us again. I don't know if he is in denial, has his own crystal ball or what. And this stress in making me HUNGRY!! I want to eat everything in sight! DH is gonna have to roll me through the gates in WDW!

That's what I've been doing eating everything in site. I started a courtboullion earlier & the fish stock gave it an awful taste. I had to throw it out. At least I hadn't added the redfish & shrimp yet. So I'm going to fry that. I going through my fridge & freezers throwing stuff out. What I can't cook I'll put in the icechest & take to Josh's Mom's house. Start cooking over there.

One positive thing about this whole mess is Gov. Jindal. I am so impressed with him. He's having a press conference at 4:45.

I just found out my sonIL Josh is going to have to stay at Ochsner WB. And my sisIL Chris is on 2nd Rotation at Ochsner main campus. She'd have to come back after 3-4 days. I'm really upset about this.

13th through 20th! I am very excited but very worried now at the same time!
I've been looking forward to this trip for an entire year! (booked bounceback last year)

I did get some great news last night, my daughter & SIL are going to join us for 4 of our 6 days in WDW this October! I was able to get them in on some of our adr ressies this morning! We are thinking about doing the PFTS now too!

Woohoo! Now that's some news I can look forward to!

How's everybody hanging in? I doubt I'll have fingernails left come Saturday. I'm hoping the next update shows even further westward movement.

Well, I've cleaned out the freezer and we're eating from that now, and I cleaned out all the misc jars, bottles, etc from the fridge. We're staying if we can't get out on Tuesday AM like planned. Once that was decided I feel pretty calm now. I pulled out our hurricane kit and have it together. Tomorrow I'll walk down to Walgreens and get some batteries and some filler groceries (can't be without that Diet Coke!)

I hope all of you can find some peace out there somewhere.

Well, guess I'm off to refill the ice trays (again!). We're filling the freezer with ice.....gotta have something to bargain for cocktails with if need be.

This cold is killing me and I am supposed to work tomorrow. If I call in it's jusy gonna be another strike against me.

On top of that I am not going to be allowed back into St Tammany parish without a pass, which were handed out a few momths after Katrina-well I have never recieved one. I am really starting to wonder about my job. So even if it does come here and my co-workiers need relief, I will not be allowed back in the parish, even with my hospital ID. And during K they allowed some family at the hospital, this time-No family members allowed at all. I understand this rule a little bit as during and after K it was a war zone and scary and who would want thier kids in that. But for those who are single parents and have no other place for thier kids or do not want to seperate from them, what gives?

Anyway, as far as eating goes, I would be munching BIG time, but rthankfully we have no munchies in the house. I DO have some brownie mix though...

I'm on the evacuation team but I work in the Hammond FOC building, so we're not sure if we're evacuating yet. The reason for that office was due to storms but if our office has to close for a day or two we'll have to go to Arkansas. I'm none too thrilled about Little Rock!
