Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Even though I thought the teachers were going to be awful, Alexis came out of school exclaiming " Nana I had the funnest day ever!" :confused3
.

Very good! :)

So I have a funny, but gross, Sienna story...
I was in the backyard with Sienna earlier this morning, and I noticed that she was being quiet over by the shed (which means something bad), so I walked over to see what she was doing. She was poking at a dead mouse on the ground :crazy2: and cheerfully exclaimed to me "Mommy, I touched Mickey Mouse!!!". ::MickeyMo

Needless to say, I was horrified and amused at the same time, and hightailed it inside to thoroughly sanitize her hands. :lmao:
Yes indeed....Sienna is too cute! I would have been sanitizing as well! :rotfl2:

OK, so I'm not getting nervous yet about that darn storm but I'm so not ready to go through anything getting close to us yet. :guilty:

I'm nervous already.:sad2:

Eeeeuuuwww! I would have scared the poor child to death with an ear-piercing scream!

Good morning. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.

My mom is doing great. She went to the Dr's office yesterday and he said so:)

Between cooking for her and my dad and sitting with her when he goes to work and picking up the kids, I haven't had time to come on here too much. When I do, its a nice break--ya'll are so funny with your stories.

Last Sunday, DH, kids and I went to the Insectarium (sp?). It is really nice. I never thought I'd like a place devoted to bugs, but we had a lot of fun. The butterfly exhibit is gorgeous and peaceful. It also has a theatre with a funny movie about bugs. It reminds me so much of "It's Tough to be a Bug" in Animal Kingdom. We ate at Maspero's after that and then went walking through the French Quarter. I even took the kids in to Muriel's just to take a peek at the "Ghost Table" in there. In front to the St. Louis Cathedral, there was an artist who some really great-looking paintings. We started talking to him and ended buying one of his pieces. I'll try to get the kids to help me post a pic of it later.

Morning Y'all,

Mary, Glad you're Mom is doing well! Your insectarium day sounds fun! A trip to Maspero's is always a good thing.

Today is Alexis' very last day of summer vacation. :sad1: I thought she want to swim or go out somewhere. :sad2: Nooo, she wants me to play dolls with her. :confused3

Kathy, Has your parents house been cleaned up? The closing must be soon.

Yes, they just finished yesterday. Closing is set for next week, my realtor is out of town until tomorrow so hopefully everything's still a go.

Kathy, I'm glad you were able to get it cleaned up. I hope everything goes smoothly. It looks like we will finally be able to start listing properties DH, BIL & SIL inherited from their parents. Most are empty lots down in Port Sulphur, but at least Katrina cleared that property. They have to demolish another is Westwego. It's sad that everything his Dad worked so hard to build up, was just destroyed in one swoop. His Dad really felt he was leaving his kid's a legacy, he believed real estate was the one sure investment. :sad2:

Good morning guys.....Today would be my Mom's birthday so I'll be heading to the cemetary on my way to the gym. Mom's birthday always leads into Katrina so I may be a little out of touch for the next week or so.

Happy Friday Y'all,

Looks like we are going to have to keep an eye on Faye this weekend.:sad2:

Kathy,

Thanks Sheryl & Mary. Kyle just came in with their baseball schedule and they're going to WDW for a week in March...... could this be a trip in the making?

Oh no. Our local, trusted tv weather guy actually just said that by Tues/Wed tropical storm Fay storm would be close to the NOLA area. He said it would be bringing the area lots of rain. Stay dry! We are STILL getting rain from the darn thing. :umbrella:

Just wanted to say hugs to Kathy.

P.S. Double trip planning! Now that sounds like a plan!

Thanks Peggy! Are you or anyone else here familiar with the Sports Complex area, that's where they'll be playing? We're trying to decide where to stay, it'll only be for 3 nights and we've never stayed at a value resort before, but probably that would be the best bet????
