Whew what a nasty afternoon it is. I spent the morning getting a pedi then I went shopping @ Lakeside. DD has a slumber party at camp tonight and DH is MOD this weekend so I am all alone tonight.

I must be the only one not on anti-depression medication, although I could probably use some sometimes. If I didn't have DD to force me out of my occasional slumps, who knows where I'd be.

On a funny note, a DISer sent me a PM after she recognized me and DD at the zoo on Wednesday! I told her I feel like a celebrity! If you're out there lurking landryfam, hello!

The kids had so much fun on the beach! It's really the first time they've been, unless you count staying at CBR. Now I'm really excited for our cruise, seeing how much they enjoyed the beach.

had to go through the afternoon monsoon to the Westbank. Lafayette street was flooded. thank goodness the storms don't last that long - it was so much rain in so little time though!

I can't believe school is starting up again. Luckily, our school is replacing the a/c in the main building, so we don't start up until the 21st. I'm excited to meet my new batch of 1st graders!

Is anyone looking at Disney for Mardi Gras 2009?

Thank you all so much for the prayers for my mom. I've been talking to her today and she sounded so different, almost like a little girl. I love her so much and I wish it was next week and it was over and she was doing fine.

When you said she sounded like a little girl it brought back so many memories of my Mom who eventually became my baby. Thanks for the very good memories my friend. Next week will be here before you know it, like I said, try and get some rest so you'll be up to what's ahead.

Yes, I am still up-it was a LONG day-tired .

My hours are gettting less and less... so I am looking. My boss quit today, to be a teacher. I have found out it's more mangement(her bosses) that want the changes. She has been thier puppet, and she's BEEN looking for a way out-got her teaching certificate.

Know of any weekend jobs???

Sorry I haven't posted for at least a week - but I have been reading and do care about all of you and what you are going thru.

My dad had heart surgery (bypass) almost 20 years ago, and his heart is doing great. By the way he has made tremendous progress - he even did his own laundry a few days ago. Major accomplishment - I did not make him do it, but he was so proud of himself.

It's been busy around here. A week ago Friday I fainted (I guess as I don't remember it at all) and broke the shower door in the middle of the night. The jagged pieces are just huge. Everyone who looks at it cannot believe that I am still alive.

My sister had her gallbladder out on Thursday and just went home from our house today. Her best friend came in for Cindy to take care of her after hand surgery - she ended up having the surgery at exactly the same time when Cindy did. So I was dropping off at multiple hospitals on Thursday, and they were both here until today. I just need to put a big red cross out in the front yard.

Good luck Kathy and others with the depression. I've taken Paxil ever since menopause. I tried going off of it about 3-4 years ago. I did it very slowly over several months - but I found myself getting very irritable. I told my doctor that I wanted to kill people. Her eyes got really wide until I quickly added that I did not mean that literally. I was just very, very cranky until I went back on it and all was well again.

OMG Tricia, thank God you are OK. That was quite a scare.

So glad to hear your dad is doing so well, but your house sure does sound like it's been a MASH unit. Let's hope things get back to normal for you.
