We have a Snowball stand on Berhman Highway right next to Riviera (sp.) Spa Gym. DD had one yesterday.

Morning Y'all,

We had Bob's godchild's communion on Saturday & then spent the day with family. It was nice. Yesterday I wasn't feeling well, sinus & fibro both acting up.

I don't check in for 2 days, and I miss the big surprise! Lori! finally checking in! After many shout outs, we had just about given up on you! Glad to see you back on with your fancy new phone. Missed you a bunch! We are going for F&W Oct 26th thru Nov 1st!
So we'll have to do some cruisin & boozin of the booths together!!!

Our snowball stand on Barataria has been open a couple of weeks. I've already satiated my craving for their chocolate snowballs!

Stephanie, That's the Cold Spot on barataria across from Estelle Elementary!

Kathy, The artichokes I stuffed last week, I just cut them in half , put them leaf sound down & put the stuffing in & on top the heart! Yeah it was cheating but it still tasted just as good!

Jamie, My DD also developed asthma around 5 yo. It would really bother her when she had a cold or exercised. She was in gymnastics all her life. But she started running cross country during highschool. It was really hard for her especially on cold mornings. But she pushed through & after the 2nd season her asthma really improved almost to the point of disappearing! She rarely has an attack anymore.

TriciaII, Glad you're going to live! But you don't sound like you're really feeling much better. Be careful with that Avelox, I was took it twice. The 1st time I felt strange while taking it, but finished it cause it was working. Then the next time it was given to me I broke out in a bad rash. If you're feeling "funny" on it, maybe you should call your doc.

If anyone lives near Roosevelt and Airline - that is my favorite snowball stand. I've been going there since the 70's and the same guy still works in the window! The blackberry snowballs are my favorite.

I think I have DH talked into Los Angeles and a few days in Disney for our summer vacation. I haven't been to Disney in California since I was 13 (many moons ago) We are still in the planning stages. I am very excited.

That sounds like fun!

I've only been to California and to DL once about 5 years ago and we loved it. For a few days, we stayed in Dana Point at the cutest B&B right on the ocean! We did day trips to San Juan Capistrano, and Laguna Beach. The rest of the trip we did Disney and stayed at the Grand Californian. I would love to make another trip there.

I think a trip to Sam's Club is in my near future. Colin makes his First Communion on Saturday so I'll be buying things for a family party. He wants grilled pork chops so it looks like I'll be making side dishes to go along with BBQ. Maybe potato salad, baked beans, garlic bread. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

We had a lot of drama on the WFD thread yesterday which lead to a migraine all night for me. Thought I could get up and get to work, but my head still feels like it's going to explode. I'll probably head back to bed after Kyle leaves for school. Be back later......

Grumpy's wife - yes 1st Communion's are nice; I teared up when I saw my DD taking communion and drinking the wine. The party planning is the most stressful though! I enjoyed it once the day arrived. As party favors, I handed out cookie's from cookie bouquet. I ordered lambs, crosses, churches, etc. It was a hit.

Seems as though a bunch of DISers were banned yesterday for posting on another forum which was like an anti-DIS forum, Unfortunately our OP over there got caught in the middle of it all and got banned too. So we were scrambling around trying to help and start a new thread.

Mary- if you want I have a file from one of the WFD people about Disneyland- I can send it to you. I printed it out when we went last year and it was pretty good. There's also another forum that has more west coasters on it than here that I lurked at.

We don't have our schedule all planned out yet. Usually we'll drive to Lake City the day before our DVC check in & then get up, drive in, check in... all of that stuff & get into the park around 1:00. I'll let you know as soon as it's all worked out. Alexis & her Mom & Dad we'll be there with us, although we won't be hanging together for the whole trip. I forewarned them, F&W is MY THING! And even my cutie--patootie won't drag me away from it for very long! They wanted to go for the MNSSH stuff.

So far, Jenny is the only one who has mentioned trying to be there at the same time. Kathy thought she had it worked out, been then couldn't get the dates.

This past weekend, Our little niece Bailey asked for a cake that looked like the Communion Host!! Her Nanann made it for her too! I think that was the easiest cake she's ever decorated. Bailey insisted it had to be a plain round white cake, but she gave in & let her Nanaan put a gold cross on top! She was so serious about making her communion. Bob gave her a "real" bible, she was so excited! This child is an unbelievable reader, she's been really reading since she was 3. When she saw her pink bible with her name engraved on it, she said " Oh boy! I can't wait to read the whole thing! " Funny thing is she probably will read the whole thing. I'm just glad we're not the ones who'll have to answer all of her questions about it!!!
