Kath, I hope Kyle's back improves this week. Will he be taking it easy at practice?

He'd better or his mama will be fussin. Seriously he told me last night that he's not even going to the bullpen all week, my fingers will be crossed.

I am such a softy. I've been undecided as to what to do with the casual pics that Kyle took with Abi. He hasn't even looked at them and doesn't want to. I decided to call Abi last night (with Kyle's permission) and see if she wanted them. As soon as we started talking we both started crying. I truly loved that girl and I didn't realize how much I missed her. She is going through a rough time so I told her to feel free to call me if she ever needed to talk. I'm just praying that she doesn't take my intentions the wrong way and start bothering him again.

I hope he's careful with his back! I could tell how much you had liked her. But then how mad you were. I knew you were going to miss her though. But be careful, I wouldn't initiate any further contact with her for a while. Even though she's in a rough spot, continueing contact with her, will probably mess things up. For her & Kyle. Hugs for you Mama!

Sheryl - ITA! I told Johnny & Kyle last night that I am not going to contact her again, I just felt I needed to make the offer to her. The good news is, is that she loves Virginia.

I hope everyone stayed safe from all that nasty weather last night. The thunder storms that passed through Mandeville were so scary. My house was lit up like a Christmas Tree from all the lightening.

Here's some info. all of you Westbankers might be interested to know. It was forwarded to me from someone who lives in Plantation Estates.

Subject: Barataria/Lapalco Commercial Activity Update

Laborie's Supermarket has leased the building where the Alberton's in Marrero was located behind Wendy's. They are working to get it ready sometime this year.

The closed Manhattan Athletic Club on Barataria is being leased as a Medical Building for Dialysis and Urgent Care Center.

The old game room on Barataria (Also was a Rax Roastbeef many years ago) has been leased by The New Orleans Pancake & Breakfast House. It will be a full service restaurant that currently has locations on Belle Chasse Hwy. and another location on N. Arnold in Metairie.

The closed Luther's Barbecue building has been vacant for quite some time. Churchill Down's wants to lease this facility as an off-track betting similar to the one in Gretna. They are currently researching the permitting process with Jefferson Parish.

Academy Sport has inquired to open a new location around Belle Promenade Mall to expand their presence on the Westbank.

The vacant JC Penny building at Belle Promenade Mall will be torn down and Lowe's Home Improvement will be building in that location. The Planning Dept. has approved their application and they are moving forward with their plans now.

More information will be provided as we hear it.

I really hope they finally do tear down that home JcP building. It's awful. I'm sad that Laborie's is taking over that space though. I was really hoping for a Rouse's!

I got off of work at Lockheed at 11pm and I had to drive down Old Gentilly in blinding rain and lightening. THANK GOD one of the guys I work with was going slow in front of me so I was able to follow his tail lights. Otherwise I'd have missed the turn onto 510 and kept going straight to whereever the road goes. It SUCKED driving home last night. What's normally a 20 minute drive turned into a 35 minute drive. Once I got to the Michoud exit on I-10, I Was able to see again.

I have every intention of finding who it was that I was following to thank them. I have no idea if they work in the same building as me or the bigger biulding up front. Might have even been a cost guard guy. No idea.... but that truck helped me from putting my husbands car around a tree. That was one of the worst thunderstorms I have ever had to drive through! I almost wish I had stayed at work till 1am to miss all of that! Hope y'all have a good day!

Hey y'all!

Sorry I haven't posted- we've been super busy around the house! DH had two days off in a row (which is a big deal for him), so he painted the front and side steps, one set of burglar bars, and put in a new pond! This pond replaces the old one which needed some tlc, so he just put a whole new one in instead.

Sienna is also taking a nap in her big girl bed right now! I decided to let her take naps in it first before the big move at night. I know now that I am definitely the one holding her back because she had no problem taking a nap in it. DH told me to just cut the cord and get on with it.

Funny, I didn't even hear the rain last night. I must have slept like a rock because I told DH in the morning that the rain must have missed us. He looked at me like I was crazy. I'm glad everyone made out ok. Darlene, I'm glad you made it home safely!

Stephanie- nice pics! I didn't even know that existed out there! I'll have to check it out sometime.

Sheryl, I never found out what the celebration was all about. A friend of mine said that maybe the Irish won a football game or something like that- those Irish will throw a party over anything!

Kathy, that was nice of you to call Abi about the pictures. I didn't realize that she already moved to Virginia (or am I reading that wrong?). Hope Kyle's back is doing better.

Terry- I hope you're feeling better as well.

I hope I didn't miss anyone! I have a messy house to clean. Why is it that whenever DH is off the house is a disaster the day after?

I also forgot to mention that I went shopping with a friend on Sunday without DD- I haven't done that in a lonngggg time! Maybe since she was born? It felt sooo nice to not worry about having to keep baby happy, carry a diaper bag around, keep an eye on nap time, chase her in dressing rooms, etc. It was wonderful! I definetely need to do that more often.
