Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

Hey y'all!

I've been scarce because I've just been feeling down. This cold weather, the constant illness in this house for the past month, the school situation, and the fact that I haven't had a car in a month (DH STILL hasn't gotten his car back) is really just wearing me down. :guilty: Things need to start looking up soon!

Erik seems like he is improving a little. He has a horrible cough, but he can't take any cough medicine because of his age, so we use the humidifier and he has to suffer otherwise. It seems so unfair that I can take Robitussin and he just has to suck it up. :sad1:

On a brighter note, he said his first word this morning: Uh oh. :rotfl: Does this mean trouble later on?

I'm trying to cheer myself up by getting ready for our trip! I ordered all of our shoes: New Balance for DH, Tevas for me, tiny Tevas for Erik (so cute!:lovestruc), and Mickey crocs and Teva flip flops with hula girls for Sienna. I got everything on clearance too! :cool1:

In Sienna news, she has learned how to turn the tv on, put a DVD in the DVD player, and turn it on. I see lots of battles in my future- I'm in trouble now!

Sheryl- Poor Alexis, I hope she feels better soon!

Cara- Congrats to Logan!

Kim- That is so awesome!! :cheer2:

Lori- It will all be ok. It is so understandable to be overwhelmed! I had major buyer's remorse after we bought our house because there was SO much to be done, but it all worked out fine. What are your paint colors? Oh, and I wanted to mention that the RAV4 is AWESOME!! I love it! I know you had mentioned it as a possibility for you in the future, and I give it a thumbs up! :thumbsup2

Our old car is listed on cars.com and the dealer's website. So weird seeing it cleaned up and put up for sale. If they get what they are asking for it, then they are making out like bandits considering what they gave me for it when we traded it in.

Sheryl- that is too darn cute!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:Thank you.

Cara-Congrats to Logan on crossing over to boy scouts! I was a girl scout but we did lame activities. My dad was head of the boy scouting at our school when we were growing up and boyscouts did MUCH coolers things!
I didn't wanna sew, cook and do crafts, I wanted to use a compass and make fires and hike. We camped in girl scouts, but it wasn't memorable. I am thankful for my dad, who took us camping everywhere we(my family) went and made it into the best memories of my childhood.

FHA wants MORE info today- DH called the mortgage broker and asked to let us know when we would be left alone. They are making us wire $42.24 to the title company on a balance we have on a CC we no longer have the card for, but left open for tolltags. yes, they will not fork over the $$ till that is paid off.:headache::eek::headache: I guess gone are the days when you sign the paper and it's done.

This is making me wish we were paying a higher interest rate and went with another type loan.:headache: I know later I will be thankful for the decent interest rate, but this is sooo nervewracking!

Just pray/ send good thoughts- DH is stressing and I am literally sick to my stomach. We have NO doubt that we have the house, but geez, leave us alone already. It's making us feel like they could take it away already.:sad2:

My bitter and possibly slightly funny remarks for today for those starting out:
Make sure you don't ever have a sick kid that changes your life and financial situation, make sure mom and dad can pay for college or get a scholarship, elope, and save up a buttload of money.
:rolleyes1

DH and I did it all wrong. what can ya do? Not looking for a bailout like some others, just want to be able to do what we gotta do without all the headaches.

Sorry- just having a momentary pity party over here in Florida by myself.

venting..................

Thank you-that makes me feel a little better.
And about the Rav-4~ GRAWSOME!! glad you love it! We'll be looking into it in the future. far future at this point.....................................
now let me go pray over my cars:goodvibes"need another year, need another year, need another year"..............

The probably won't-they are always marked up so much!

On a very very good wonderful cool note- we got the tickets today from the Disneyschooler for Magic Kingdome tomorrow! Only wish DH could go too- cuz we all could use a 'house' break already!
Her hubby schedules the refurbs for Disney, or MK, or something-kinda cool!
Lori

Lorie, I also think it stinks that Erik can't have any meds to help him feel just a little better. Poor little guy! I'm glad that you like your Rav 4!

Lori, You are not all alone! :grouphug: You have us here for you, just like before! The loan stuff will be over soon & you will be very happy for the lower interest rate. I did just see you last week, How soon do you want me back over there? ;) Call me if you want to talk about it!

Cara, I hope his hands continue to improve. Does he have to inject himself with the epipen?

Lori:hug:

Kim, love the pictures. I often wondered who is "Gumbo". He/she does a good job. So full of excitement.

Sheryl, that would brighten up my morning too.

Lorie, that is so cute--his first word is uh-oh. I can picture him saying that.

Lorie – I’m praying that things start looking brighter for you. I, too, think it sucks that Erik can’t have any meds, poor baby and poor mommy. I’m :rotfl2: at his first words!

Lori –Praying and sending good thoughts for you & Paul. You will be so thankful for the lower interest rate and all this stuff will be a distant memory. You’re not alone my friend, we’re all with you.:grouphug: Enjoy MK tomorrow!!!!!

we found out that the mortgage company dropped the ball. Long story short- we gave a deposit and they had in thier papers that they got double. Good for us, right? DH was battling with them letting them know we did not put down that much- so they started digging into our loan app and found that THEY forgot to follow up on some stuff and now WE are paying for it. I know being honest is the way to go, but cr--!

It's been an awful day for DH. I think the bank we got the mortgage from needs to pay him for a day of missed work! he's been so upset(and this is rare, but lately it is norm) that he couldn't even concentrate on his JOB.

I hope he decided to go to MK with us tomorrow. Maybe we'll get HIS pass.

hey- the guy installing my faucet right now works for Disney as an insepctor- CM's are everywhere!

Trust me, I was so jealous when his (Gumbo's) daughter was telling me that she was going to MIA for the Super Bowl! I asked her if she could arrange for me to meet Lance Moore  ...not going to happen, but I can dream, right???

Lori- I hope all this is a distant memory for you and you get to start enjoying your new house!!!! What a pain!

Hey y'all!

Not much going on here...patiently waiting for DH's car to get finished...:rolleyes1

Is anyone else as SICK of this cold weather as I am? Seriously, enough already. Let's turn on the HEAT! :sunny: I need to get started on my backyard, and that will never happen until it warms up!

Lori- I got the shoes from Joe's New Balance Outlet, amazon, and ebay. Sierra Trading Post had some great deals too! DH and I still want your house...:rotfl: Between this cold weather we've been having, the school situation here, and constantly seeing our city officials going to prison, a move to Florida sounds pretty good right now! It would be my dream to move there and work in Disney Horticulture...:cloud9:

Could I ask for some prayers and good thoughts please? I'm going to my doctor this afternoon, Johnny finally talked me into it. I felt faint on Monday at the dentist's office and since then my heart has been "fluttering". My Dad had congestive heart failure so I'm kinda scared.:sad1:

Kat, you are absolutely in my prayers today:hug: Please let us know what the doctor says.

Kathy, I'm really glad you are seeing the doctor! I know why you didn't mention the fluttering, you know after hearing about the fainting, I would have been over there dragging you to the dr! Try not to worry, it sounds a lot my Mom's ( & Bob's ) mitral valve prolapse. If that is it, it's nothing to worry about! I'll be praying for a simple answer from the dr.

I'm trying to get Bob to the dr. He came home from work early yesterday with fever. This morning he figured out it's a UTI. We have 7 days of 10 day rx for it, but he doesn't want to go sit in the dr's office to get a full prescription.

Hi gang...thank you all for all of the birthday wishes! I had a quiet day but will enjoy my night with some of my friends.

Kathy prayers being said for you girl...

Sheyrll I absolutely loathe UTI's.

Thanks for al the good thoughts and prayers.:grouphug: I have to have an EKG on Monday and will be getting a heart monitor. My doc said that since I was able to do my normal gym workout all this week with no problems he doesn't think it's anything major.

TK as somebody who suffers from high blood pressure, my prayers are with you.

(Loved it that you enjoyed Il Mulino) ;)

Kathy- I am pretty sure you do not have CHF- you have lost a lot of weight, you work out and take care of yourself.
I agree with your doc. CHF makes you really short of breath and you get fluid build up. There are many different degrees of it nowadays, but it may be caffiene intake(if you do that) or anxiety or just being female. having and EKG and holter will ease your mind and let you know if there are any dangerous arrhythmia's(sp?- I never have been able to spell that w/out looking at it) you need to be concerned about. If anything, you could have what Sheryl said(which is pretty minor- used to be a big deal) or something minor. remember your heart has it's own little electrical system. You could be having extra beats or skipped beats- all normal, unless there are too many. Most people have these and never know it.

Let Bob know he is risking needing a stronger antibiotic is 7 days of the one you have doesn't work. Men are stubborn when it comes to docs:scared1:

MK was a BLAST today. The kids had fun going on rides with new friends.
it was COLD in the morning and tonight, but we stayed from open to close(9am-8pm) and it was moderate crowds. 90 minutes for Winnie the Pooh is ridiculous- thankfully we weren't riding it. We hardly waited in any lines thanks to getting there early and FP. "Wishes" NEVER gets old does it? it is ending in summer sometimes- I heard today they are going back to Fantasy in the Sky-well, I am not positive, but that is something I heard....

I found out too that the next moms night out is in EPCOT(they do this once a month and alternate months with one month IN a park and one month at a resort) and the same gal that gave us the tickets today can let up to 3 people in on her pass(her hubby is the one that schedules refurbs) and since her kids won't be there, she can get me and another mom in, if we wanna go.:rolleyes1 I met the RIGHT people down here so far:rotfl:. God bless her , she is soooo nice! I am not sure about going though, b/c we'll be in the house starting Tuesday and I may just wanna stay home and cuddle up on MY couch.
