Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

My SIL is considering the HP package. But it may be sooooooooo crowded so she(and family) is thinking of coming back in fall and staying with us just to be able to go!

Wondering if it will be open to general public or just those with packages are gonna get in.

it is SOO cool to see Hogwarts from the interstate. Another surreal moment!

Lori

I don't think we're going to do the package. I already bought the tickets. I am going to have to look into it a little bit more. I told DH that we need to start working on the trip as far as the airfare goes. I also need to make the Universal plans. I know I'd like to stay at the Portofino Bay again, I just waiting to see if I can get a better rate:thumbsup2

Jenny- I am gonna order one if they have any left next week. We have unsecured internet here and i am nervous about ordering on it.

Thanks Kathy- It's already not happened on 2 other dates we were supposed to close. Maybe the 3rd time is the charm!

Lori

Want me to order for you and Ill just mail it to you! bet it would cost less than a $1 to get it to you.

I think Aly and I will be visiting Universal soon especially to see the HP ride. ;) I've holded off because I always thought the parks rides were to fast and scary for her...

I am hoping Jack will be tall enough, he seems to handle scary rides so I think we will be ok.

Hey y'all!

I've been taking advantage of the "warmer" weather and have been spending more time outside and walking in the park. Feels good to get some fresh air! Erik's dr said it would be good for him as well because he's been sick so much. :guilty:

So, we've been bad and upgraded our trip in May- we're staying at CBR now! :cool1: It was only $250 to upgrade, and considering we were going to have to spend $100 to rent a fridge at ASMo, it was really only $150. And we need some new plant cuttings, so we'll be saving money on that too. ;) We're very excited!

was in your area and tried to come see you but you didn't answer :(
Awww..... hmmm, I was home all day , but I may have been outside with the kids. I've been trying to assess the freeze damage in my yard since its been warmer (worse than I thought- I lost almost everything out there...:sad1:)

I'm in a funky mood and don't know why... so I'm staying to myself for a while.
 Hope you feel better. I bet if we got some sunny warm weather it would help!

Now that you mention it, Spencer rarely gets an antibiotic where I always had at least one bottle of ongoing antibiotic in my fridge while the older two boy were young.

The jazz funeral for the Aints was really cool. But tell me why I always think of baby Erik when I see the word Treme:confused:;):rotfl:
I'm glad I'm not alone with the lack of antibiotics- I was getting paranoid that they thought I was an antibiotic junkie or something. :upsidedow

I still think of Erik's name when I hear Treme too. I kind of regret not using it now.

I'm sure if you've had the tv on at all this morning, you've seen the video of the paper bag funeral. :rotfl: :lmao: Here it is, if by chance you haven't seen it yet:
http://www.wdsu.com/video/22622185/index.html

I feel like I have a ton of time this weekend, without a parade to go to or a football game to watch!

I'll have to check out the video- :rotfl:

I said the same thing to Todd....no parades, no football, what are we going to do with ourselves? :lmao:

Julie- I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip.

The Portofino looked gorgeous in the pics. I don't blame you for wanting to stay there.

Thanks Jenny, I bought the exact scarf from Gordon's of Metairie as well. :thumbsup2

Julie I'm sorry you're not feeling well and that you had to cancel your trip. :(

I think Aly and I will be visiting Universal soon especially to see the HP ride. ;) I've holded off because I always thought the parks rides were to fast and scary for her...

To scary for Aly? I see her in heaven. I am dying to get over there but we need a house to sell before I can even start to think of vacations....

Congrats on upgrading.
So sorry about your backyard. I would love to see your garden when it is green again. I wasn't lucky enough to have my backyard die... it is all Ivy and weeks and boy, I wouldn't have shed one single tear over it.

Julie, sorry about your feeling ill.

Hey y'all,

We are home. Enjoyed the trip, but gosh it felt good to sleep in my own bed!

We really enjoyed both the Wilderness Lodge & the BLT. With the cold weather, WL really felt like being up in Yellowstone. At BLT we had a MK view! That was awesome! You can turn the tv on & get the music during Wishes! Totally grawesome! (Alexis' new word for great & awesome!)

The only downside was the cold & the crowds. Long lines everywhere, we never did get to do Soaring or Test Track, fast passes were gone by 11 am & the waits were from 1 1/2 to 2 hrs! We did get a little bit of magic in Hollywood Studios. Bob went ahead to get FP for Toy Story, they were all distributed but a CM took 3 out of his pocket & gave them to Bob!:wizard:

Julie, I'm so sorry you are feeling bad. Also that you had to be separated from Rie on her birthday.:hug:

Lori, Sorry to hear y'all are feeling bad! It does sound like apt. allergies. We were so happy to see all of you! It was the highlight of the trip for all three of us! :grouphug: I'm praying that the closing happens tomorrow!!

Lorie, Woohoo on the trip upgrade!:cool1: My yard is awful too! Everything is dead. I'm so upset I moved my (potted) braided hibiscus trees back outside after the first freeze, then forgot to bring them back in! Hoping I get really lucky & they come back. About cuttings, Alexis reached down & pulled up something she thought was a 4 leaf clover. It came up with a thick little root on it. I don't know what it is, but I immediately thought of you & wrapped it up in a wet napkin & told her that we'd plant her "four leaf clover" at home!

Kathy, I'm sorry our phones acted goofy & we weren't able to get together! We will remedy that in October!!! I have your confirmation for the BCV room. Do you want me to drop it in the mail or get together sometime?

Jenny, I have that scarf! I picked up a several a few years ago at a jewelry show.

I don't think we're doing it either. I've already booked us at Royal Pacific Resort, just need to get tickets. We thought about doing Portofino again but we really were impressed with RPR when we went there for dinner!:goodvibes

riesmom- sorry you are feeling bad:hug:.

We have been having headaches and tummy issues, but I REALLY think it is b/c we can't sleep, too. My eyes are STILL red, but they got better before they got worse again. Ashton's eyes are bugging her too. Her right eyelid is a little swollen. I REALLY (:)) think it is from being in an apartment-with apartment carpet, furniture(corp apt is furnished) and smells and new allergens to our bodies. Her eyelid has been "pounding"(her word) a little too. This is enough to give me an uneasy feeling- not worried yet- but anything surrounding ANYTHING from her previous medical history sits there in the way back parts of my head.

I tried our doc at home today but she didn't answer(it's her cell phone), but just to say hey(a long overdue phone call), and ask her an opinion about her eye.
The eye is not protruding or anything, just her eyelid is bugging her. IF it protruded, you'll find me high on valium.

We got an email from the agent this morning-it MAY be Tuesday. go figure.

I need to find a doc. Just hoping to do it AFTER we are in the house and area we will be living in.

Up late from a full day of washer/dryer shopping and seeing Percy Jackson- then the 4 of us split an appetizer and an entree at Planet Hollywood with leftovers. We had an early dinner and it was too late to eat more than that! We got home about 1am!

Have a good rest of your weekend.

Lori

Thanks. It sounds like Ashton has allergies. I'm praying for y'all. Tim has eye problems like you describe whenever we travel. The man has so many allergies, it's unreal but he can work on a farm- go figure.

Lorie, thanks for posting the Universal Harry Potter information:)

Lori, I hope you all start to feel better. Stomach problems are never fun.

Julie, sorry you had to cancel your trip. Can you re-schedule it?

Hi Mary, we could but I don't think we will because we'll go to visit Rie in a month or so and then we- hopefully Rie and I- are going to WDW and UNi at the end of April.

You will LOVE Portofino Bay! One year I took Rie and my niece Ashley to that resort. It's very lux. Rie though prefers the Royal Pacific, so that is where we stay.

Julie - Sorry you had to cancel your trip, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Kat.

Julie I'm sorry you're not feeling well and that you had to cancel your trip. :(

Thanks Serena.

Does Aly like the coasters at WDW? If she does, then she'll probably like those at Universal. Rie actually likes Uni better than WDW. We pretty much go to Orlando for Uni but also go to WDW because we're in Orlando. If you go, be sure to stay at a Universal onsite resort so you can get Front of the Line Access!!!

Sheryl, we love the WL during cold weather! It feels so welcoming. We have a new word!!!! I love grawesome:yay:.
I'm still pretty sad that we weren't together for Rie's birthday. Tim and I will have a party for her when she gets home.

Y'all have a great day!!!

Sheryl - I somehow missed your post!

I tried to send you a pic from Citrico's of my veal shank on my phone but it didn't go through.:lmao:

Love grawesome!!! How neat that must have been to get the Wishes music on the TV!

The crowds were insane weren't they? We'd get to the park by 9 and would be OK until noon, then it just got crazy crowded.

You can mail me the confirmation, no hurry!

I've already got a tentative line-up for dining for October.;)

Well, now, that is just plain gawesome that you ladies and Bob had a good trip. Sorry to hear about the crowds Sheryl. I was afraid that would be the case. I have a friend who only does Disney over Mardi Gras but will not go whenever it collides with President's Day. Now I see why, holy moses those were some wait times!

Now Kat, the food porn pics are great, but I am now starving for something I have no idea how to cook or even what it is :rotfl: Keep the pics coming though. And when you get a chance, tell me about the Royal Pacific Resort as that is the one Logan picked for his birthday trip.

:lmao: Julie knows a whole lot more about RPR than I do. We ate there last trip and just liked the feel of the place.:goodvibes

I spent all day lounging around the house. It felt really good! I agree we've been on the move so much lately it was time for some down time.

O I so feel you on this one.

To scary for Aly? I see her in heaven. I am dying to get over there but we need a house to sell before I can even start to think of vacations.....

Yea at this point she's definately ready to hit the major coasters. Heck I'm the scray one. :rolleyes1

The first time we stayed at the RPR, we chose it because it was the least expensive of the 3 on site hotels. However, we fell in love with the place. I loved the atmosphere-tropical but quiet. Rie loves the swimming pool. We love the walk to the parks. The landscaping is very lush. The staff there is wonderful! There's a fantastic seafood buffet. I don't remember which night but I think it's Friday. You might enjoy the Wantilan Luau. It was lots of fun. Tim was chosen to go up on stage and learn the Hula- hilarious. The rooms are not super large but they are plush. We've stayed at the other on site hotels but always return to the RPR.

Jujube LOVES the RPR:rotfl:.

I'm the one who's scared too. Rie has always loved thrill rides which is one reason that I've allow her to invite at least 1 friend. :)

Thanks Julie! I loved the pictures I have seen online, and your review really helped.

Terry: I nearly asked who was scared, you or Aly but I decided to be nice. Now I will be completely honest and tell you that there are some roller coasters that there is no way I am doing at IOA BUT there was still plenty for me to do :D. I am just glad that my two older boys are roller coaster junkies and have each other to play with, and that Spencer is a complete chicken and I can use him to keep my cover :thumbsup2

Thanks for the good vibes:goodvibes

Lorie- GRAWSOME!;) One place I'd love to stay at WDW is a pirate room at the CBR. Have fun!

Sheryl- visitng with you all at WCC was the highlight of the past 3 weeks- well, that and watching the Saints win Superbowl!

Kathy- love the food pics!

Guess what?:scared1:
The Disneyschoolers are going to MK this week for a homeschool day and we don't have passes yet, so we weren't planning on going-BUT I got a wonderful email tonight and someone offered us passes for it!!!!!!!!!!! Her hubby works for the Mouse and she had some extras.

I feel so blessed!:wizard:

I'm liking it down here!
