Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

Tim went to speak to his cousin who denied any part of the CC thing. He has told the collection agency to start fraud proceedings, so hopefully, we'll see an end to it. Tim will have to fill out some paperwork but I'll tell him to let our son, the lawyer, look at it first. I'm afraid they might stick in a "wheretofore" or some legalese that would leave us holding the bag if they can't find the culprit.
I really, really hope that it's a stranger.

I hate when my posts disappear!
Just posted that someone-probably Tim's cousin- opened a CC card in Tim's name. The reason we think it's a cousin is because it was opened through a business that Tim was affiliated with but left 10 years ago.
I am totally freaked out. Right after my last post, I received a call from a collection agency about the acct. It was opened last November and the last payment on the $8000+ balance was made last Feb. We never received any statements because they were sent to the business address. It could be that someone took the application oiut of the mailbox but if the applicant needed Tim's SSN, then that could have been accesses on old tax returns in the office. There was only the cousin and 1 other person working there.
If it's the cousin, this will be such a family mess! The guy's mom is my MIL's sister. She is so sweet.
UGH!!!! I'm nauseated over this.

 I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

Things are bad here. They are admitting Alexis to the hosp. again. They suspect trapped infection from the ruptured appendix. I'm heading over there now, I will try to keep y'all updated. She is very very scared & upset.

 Oh, no. :sad1: I would be scared and upset too. I hope they find out what it is and can fix it once and for all!

Happy belated birthday to Fletcher and Haley!

Sheryl - Hugs and prayers for Alexis. I hope its a simple fix.

Julie, Sorry that happened to you. I hope you get everything straightened out soon. Cute puppy, by the way!

Kathy - sorry your ankle isn't better.

Lori - Okay so I read your hot dog post AFTER dinner. We had hot dogs; Nathan's to be specific. And they cost a LOT more than 19 cents. They're really good, too!

I make chicken soup all the time, nothing fancy. To make it kid friendly add different types of pasta (wagon wheels, bow ties). I usually cook chicken in broth, then add carrots and noodles. Season as you like, salt, pepper, etc.
I tend to use the boneless thighs and trim the fat off before hand. You can use breasts if you prefer white meat.

Bethany - glad you had a good time at the fest! And got an education to boot. You sure are learning lots of stuff down here!

As for gumbo - I can make a mean duck gumbo! My family loves it.

I had a lot to catch up on. Hope I didn't miss anyone!

Sheryl any word on our girl????

O Kathy I hope the steroids help.

Julie I would do the same thing.

Lori hows your baby doing tonight?

Thanks for the this. it makes me feel more confident in our decision.

Just checking in hoping we had news on Alexis, I'm so worried.:sad1:

I'm worried too. Hopefully, Alexis is doing ok. Poor little heart has been through so much.

Hey y'all,

Sorry to get back with an update y'all so late. Stayed late at the hospital, waiting for the dr to show up. They did an ultrasound didn't find any pockets of infection. That's good but now they have to find out what's going on. It was a long scary day for us. When they started checking her for meningitis, Chris & I were at the edge. She has elevated white blood cell count, headache, dizziness & diarrhea. They are now testing for bacterial infection in the intestines & all flu virus. The dr seemed to be leaning towards a bacterial infection. One in particular called c-dif is suspected. It can develop after strong antibiotics kill off all the good bacteria in the intestines and this flares up. The antibiotics after the surgery could have started that. We should get some answers tomorrow. Alexis has been pretty upset, scared & crying a lot. She was in a lot of pain earlier in the day, then after they got iv fluids in her she perked up & cryed to eat a hotdog. After the ultrasound they let her eat & she enjoyed it, but immediately was in the bathroom. The iv was messed up already & when I left they were going to have to put another one in. She was plan ole PO'd about that!

I so appreciate all of you! Your concern, good wishes & prayers touch my heart. Thanks:grouphug:

It was a blessing you read it AFTER dinner then!:rotfl:

I did mention I was/am a paranoid mom???

Thank you for asking- her fever spiked at about 5pm-102.8:eek:. Just a LITTLE conjestion, nothing else. She was given $25 in iTunes gift cards so I downloaded a BUNCH of stuff she'd been wanting. Hannah Montana episodes, HSM3 soundtrack and a few others- those took up most of it. She is feeling better at the moment so she is up listening to it after watching Hotel for Dogs. She'll be out soon though- she's been out most of the day.

Somehow I reacall Ashton having that when she was on treatment. She was on SO many antibiotics or prevention and for illness that I remember that virus name.

Oh dear God, my previous post came at a bad time. I am so sorry about the IV- it makes me cringe for her and tear up. Those are the little things on kids in hospitals that affected Ashton the worst- having to do something painful TWICE.:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Sheryl - Thanks for updating us and I hope you were able to get some rest. I'm praying for all of you and hoping they can diagnose the problem early today and can start treating her. I just feel so sorry for her, Chris and all of you.:sad1: Please let me know if I can help in anyway.

Morning y'all.

Glad she was feeling better last night. Hopefully this morning finds her doing even better than that.

Sheryl, how's Alexis this morning?

Mornin,

Lori, I'm sorry I didn't really Haley? was sick!:sad1: I'm only guessing Haley because someone mentioned your baby. 102.8 is pretty high!

I don't have an update yet. I'm heading over there in just a bit.

Kat, I sure hope your ankle is doing better on steroids! :flower3:

Don't have much time - just wanted to see if there were any updates on Alexis. I don't like the sound of antibiotic-resistant infection / possible c-dif. Fingers crossed they can find the cause of her distress quickly!

Prayers & hugs going out to the whole "shovan" family.

ditto what everyone else said - hope Haley is feeling better and hope they can determine what is going on with Alexis and treat it quickly!

hope your ankle is healing super quickly Kat :)

I am home sick today - woke up with terrible migraine, roof of mouth swollen and eyes red/swollen shut - seems like sinus infection - go to doctor in 2 hours.

Kat, how's your ankle today?
Kristina, I hope you feel better. Sinus problems have been rampant around here.
Lori, how's Haley?
Sheryl, no news yet I'm guessing.

double post
I swear half the time my posts go poof and other times I get 2x posts!!!!???:?:

Hi gang...its been a very busy day here at work.

Sheryl, I hope it is not as bad as we think it is for little A.

Kathy how is your ankle?

Kristina how did the doctor visit go?

Lori any updates on you baby girl?

Needless to say I’m frustrated. It’s not like I can just not go to work and while I do have a “desk” job I realized today that I’m actually on my feet more than I thought and I had to work late today so there has been no elevating or icing and it’s already 3PM. Rant over…..

Sheryl – Prayers continue for all of you, especially Alexis.

Julie – I got my planner, thank you so much, I love it!!!!!

Kristina – Hope you feel better soon.

ditto what everyone else said - hope Haley is feeling better and hope they can determine what is going on with Alexis and treat it quickly!

Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope the doctor was able to offer some relief.

Lori - how's Haley feeling? Better I hope.

Kathy - I get the part about not being able to rest at work. Sorry you are so frustrated with your ankle.

Sheryl continued prayers for Alexis as well as the rest of the family. Poor kid, I wish there was some magic to just make her all well again.
