Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

Good morning.

Lucas, its been a long time. Glad to hear from you:yay:

Kat, how's Kyle doing? I know that idiot must have shaken him up:hug:

Mary - Kyle is doing well. Having to deal with getting his window replaced now.:sad2:

Peggy - I don't envy you having to work with those Gator fans.;) Everyone at the big game on Sat said the FL fans were awesome though! Please stick around, I miss you!!

I've gained 5 freaking lbs because of this ankle. The steroids shot my appetite through the roof and no gym = trouble!

ETA: The suitcases are out and ready to be packed!

Hey Lucas! Nice to see you around! Yea, I bet it won't be fun for you at work today.

Kristina and Mary - I hope you are both feeling better.

Kathy - Sorry about Kyle, That had to of been frightening. Glad he's okay. Don't sweat the weight gain, I'm sure you'll knock it back off quickly enough.

Lori - Poor Snickers, I hope he makes a full recovery. I've mentioned several times to my office manager that we should be able to cover pets under our health plan because of the cost. As for the diet, we had to put Smudge on a diet of green beans. I'd give her a can of green beans in the morning and then the "correct" amount of dog food in the afternoon. She lost 5 pounds in a month, which was the amount the Vet wanted her lose. Course, if DH would have been giving her the correct amount of food to begin with :rolleyes1

Sheryl - How's A feeling? I hope she makes it thru school this week. Keeping her in my prayers that she finally gets better. What about the other A in your life? Is it still looking good for their business prospect?

Lorie - scary moment for DH. Glad he's okay and you were able to rescue him!

Bethany, I agree with Lorie about the weather here. But be prepared because as quickly as it gets cold, it warms right back up again!! I hope your pup did okay with her shots.

Cassie - Welcome!!

Tricia - glad to see you post again. Good luck with the move. to you and your friend.

Hey y'all,

We had a good weekend, would have been better if the Tigers had won.

 My bags are out & being packed! :cool1:

Lori, Sorry that Snickers isn't well. I hope all the tests turn out okay! :flower3:

Lorie, I hope this week goes much smoother for your family!

Kathy, How's that ankle feeling? Cortisone shot today? It's probably just water weight, I don't think you coud have gained a true 5 lbs that fast. :wizard:

Laurie, Little A is doing well. Except for the tons of class & homework she had to get done this weekend! It's crazy for 1st grade. :upsidedow

My older A is doing well, I will hopefully be able to post more about that very soon. Thanks for asking!:goodvibes

Lucas, Love the LSU pumpkins!

Kat, I love that new avatar too!

Hi y'all!

How's everyone today? Lucas, hi, you're trip to NOLA is right around the corner.

Speaking of trips, Sheryl and Kat, I can't believe yours-3 days and 4 days!!!

Serena, let us know as soon as ALy finds out if she made the cheer squad.

Jenny sent me the cute pic avatar over on fb!

Ankle update - My Dr. doesn't feel comfortable giving me an injection since the area is so close to the achilles so he's sending me to an orthopedist tomorrow morning. I'm starting to think the scooter will be my only option.:sad1:

Kathy, You have a good dr.! I think it's a good idea to see an ortho. anyway, it's going on for too long. It's great that your doc got you in so quickly! He must be good, usually you wait a month to see a specialist.

Serena, Prayers that your girl gets good news today!

Julie,:yay::dance3: I'm just a little bit excited about that!

Sheryl - I do have an amazing doc, they don't make them like him any more.:goodvibes

Serena - Thinking of Aly today!!!!!!!:cheer2:

Mary - Kyle is doing well. Having to deal with getting his window replaced now.:sad2:

Peggy - I don't envy you having to work with those Gator fans.;) Everyone at the big game on Sat said the FL fans were awesome though! Please stick around, I miss you!!

Snick is ok- no thyroid issues, still waiting on the blood thickness results. he has acted normal and had no bleeding out. I had NO idea you could give a dog green beans-of course, I am going to wait on the blood results as dark veggies can affect the bloods thickness- to try it. They said he could lose about 3-5, so I may try the green bean diet on him!

My dogs eat better than we do- they are on Iams diet only- No table food at all. I am all for as little poop as possible!

Gotta go add more pics to Photobucket so i can get more on my TR!

Bethany- thanks for the heads up. It is seriously becoming more real now and after WDW i refused to show the house for the week after. I was on strike for cleaning it for someone to look at for 10 minutes. I am actually considering asking the very next people to stay for dinner who call to see it. We should get something for all the work we do to clean it up pretty.:headache::lmao:Just kidding. It looks SO good that i am considering asking the next people who do not put an offer on it to tell me what they didn't like. It's like living in a hotel-no toohbrushes, soap, razors, garbage food, books- nothing is out-I am staging it like a pro. It is a PITA. i have 2 bins specially for new towels and one to put the stuff we use in it- then haul it to the van with all the dirty clothes, school books, mail, and stuff we accumulate on the table on any given day.

Then we sit in the backyard, pending the weather to let them check everything they want out. I tell them to have at it and give details about the house like a warranty and how old the roof is and that we have AC/heat/plumbing contracts and everything is sound. Then we tell them to look in closets and check out the attic and garage and everything while we sit outside.
Even if we had an agent, instead of FSBO, I would NOT leave. I have too much here and we always are home doing school. I hide my special jewelry but still don't feel comfortable leaving. I know some people have a problem with it but if/when it is the other way around it wouldn't prevent me from checking a house out throroughly. It is a HUGE thing to get into debt for-so you NEED to check it all out.

Just waiting for the RIGHT people to love it like we do. Or to have the capacity to eventually feel that way.

Lori

I've missed you guys! Hope everyone here is doing great. :grouphug:

I'll be in your neck of the woods real soon. And.... I made it thru the day and the Gator fans were pretty nice about it. :rotfl:

TigerKat and shovan, have a great trip. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! :mickeyjum

Lori - I'm so sorry, I totally missed the post that your pup was sick. Good thoughts and prayers headed your way.

We've all missed you too! It was one month yesterday I lost my furbaby and I thought about you. It still hurts but having vacation coming up will help, I'm sure, even if it will be a very different trip than ever before with my bum ankle.

Lori, I hope blood work comes back looking good! My cousin's little pomeranian was on the green bean diet. He lost 2 lbs which is a ton on little 9 lb dog. He LOVES the greenbeans!!

Gosh keeping the house neat enough to show, sounds like an awful pain in the bootie! Ugh. Makes me never want to move!

Peggy, This is going to be the trip of all trips! Kat & I will be meeting a bunch of dis-friends, lots of dining & wineing with them too.

serena - Any news on Aly?

Kat - sorry to hear the foot is giving you more trouble. Glad you are getting to see the specialist. I guess if you have to use an ECV, at least you will always have a seat on the bus. ;)

I know I just got back, but I'm still jealous of ya'll getting ready to go.

lori - ug. about living that way in your own house. I don't know that I could stand that. I hate a house being so clean that it doesn't look "lived in." It make me too anxious. Heck, even Mickey left his mail on the counter!
Any word on the pup?

bethany - how'd anabelle do with her shot?

i've got no news for ya'll, except to say that I'm already depressed that there's not another trip planned. We have the money, but it wouldn't leave us a big enough cusion that I'd be comfortable. Also, we need to make sure there will still be an "us" and "we" for the long term future. I don't want a looming Disney trip making that decision for me.

Thanks and even though my relationship with hubby is ok, I am there with ya on Disney. This particular trip FLEW even fast than the others.. Still trying to drag it out. had our Mickeyronie and Cheese last week! gotta get a box every time- usually get 2 or 3, but my frugal head can't even buy more than 1 box of MICKEYroni and cheese at $5 a box without :eek:. 3 boxes-$15-I. do.not. think. so. I can get 3/$1 at stuffmart.

Put some Minnie cookies in the freezer from our leftover snack credits for my neices- but may cave soon if we do not see them!!:rolleyes1

Also having a darned of a time making my picture slide show into a DVD with music. My old computer did this so why doesn't this semi new laptop??(got it in January). I want it put to the peter Pan soundtrack from the live version- the one the Disney commercials use.

Lori

ok, so I have an idea in my head to see a few of you all before our move, I know I mentioned it already, but.....:

***NOMA for Disney art(November, maybe week before Thanksgiving) I can organize this if I know exactly who wants to go if we can nail down a date. I have decided not to organize a field trip for our homeschool assoc for it- they need to many details that is too hard to do with not knowing how many and such. My girls and I will do this with or without Paul and also with you! I want to tell NOMA we are a bunch of Disney gals coming to visit and go at a time we can see the most. They are showing the classics on the big screen at some point(Cinderella, Snow White, etc) among other stuff.

Just to clarify, before we move to stinkin Texas-my heart is HOME and always will be:sad1:. This is getting tooooo real. Still not sure if renting would be a good thing for us.

Hi gang today has been super busy.

ALY MADE the cheerleading squad!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: She is so excited. Thank you all for all of your good thoughts. :) I told her she may have to chose between gymnastics and cheerleading and she looked at me as though I had 3 heads. :rotfl2:

Jenny sent me the cute pic avatar over on fb!

Awe Kathy..that darn shot did the same thing to my aunt who gets the shots for her arthritis.

Count me in!! I'd need a specific date before I can say for sure, but that week looks good for me!:yay:
