:hug: kristina. all i can say is :sad2:

here is "my art" (as my dad calls it) that i'm working on for mom's 50th

IMG_3253.jpg

he justgave me some new colored pencils (which i've never used before), so once i color it in, it should maybe hopefully look somewhat presentable. the components are an nfl football autographed by drew brees (yeah, i got online, looked up pics of his autograph and practiced it :rolleyes1) b/c that's what she got for christmas, an alligator tail b/c she teaches at lynn oaks (mascot is gators), the blob on the left is supposed to eventually be a fluffy dog tail (her dog, chloe, is an american eskimo), an apple and history book (dated 1960 - 2010) b/c she's a teacher now, and a pair of pointe shoes b/c she owned a dancing school for almost 20 years. ug. i hate giving away art. it feels so macaroni-on-construction-paper.

It's wonderful! You're very creative Jamie.

Rie's mom - Love the swan rocker & other gifts! Just be sure & remind her she never was an ugly duckling.

Portocall- I was hoping I could stall the kids on Wimpy Kid 'til it hit DVD or PPV, but they've been asking (& asking). Maybe I can convince DH to take them during Spring Break, so he can fully appreciate the 12yo boy humor with them.

JW- Don't sell yourself short! Macaroni art? As If! Even just in the sketch stage I can tell it will be something special. I agree with the previous suggestions of keeping it simple. It's not the food DMom will remember - it's the company.

Kmores- I know you just want this to be over. I'll be thinking of you over the next few days. Hang in there.

Julie.. LOVE THE SWAN!! I know she will love it too.

Hugs Kristina!

Serena, I refuse to buy any more clothes too, bought a new pair of capris and a cpl of cute shirts at the Loft the other day just for something fresh to wear and that is it!! I am done, till I drop 10 lbs or so, nothing fits from last summer UGHHH lol!!

Jamie, Love the picture, cant wait to see finished product.

Cara.. Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Jack's school is taking them to see it as a special prize for reading 45 books for the year for AR... well Jack being 7 has NO interest in this movie. It is for a bit older kid, so now he is DONE reading , he was hoping for a day at Chuckie cheese like they had last year, plus its pg, not that I mind, but some parents aren't going to let their younger kids see PG movies.

I am not sure what the school was thinking on this one. I don't see why they can't take the older ones to this and do something different for the younger kids.

Just scheduled surgery for Chad to have his rotator cuff repaired in a month and after he recovers from that, looks like ill be having a hysterectomy sometime this summer.

WOO HOO looks like this will be a funnnn summer lol.

Hey y'all,

I've been MIA due to a sinus infection. Sorry I'm not keeping up.

Kristina, If he doesn't show for a meeting, doesn't that hurt him? Wouldn't his no show be helpful to you? Prayers you make it through this awfully stressful time.:flower3:

Jamie, You're art is great! I think your Mom will love it!

Terry & Jenny, My weight is up too, nothing fitting. I'm going to make changes & my body is not allowing me to do any real exercise. I'll guess I'll have to do plain old starvation.

Jenny, I hope Chad's surgery goes well! For you I think a hysterectomy is going to make you feel so much better!

Lori, Good luck with all the yard work & keeping Louie alive!

Jenny - I hope Chad's surgery goes well and as for your hysterectomy I agree with Sheryl, you are going to feel so much better. I look back on mine as one of the best days of my life!

Sheryl - I hope you feel better soon.

Kyle is having his usual rough month of March suffering with his allergies, poor kid.:sad2:

Wow it's only Hump Day...boy it's been a really slow week.

Jaimie I LOVE IT!

Kristina girl this too shall pass. Hugs to you.

Jenny, Sheryl and Bethany we can DO IT! Thanks Kathy for the encouragement. :)

Jenny praying for a speedy recovery for your Chad. Wow a hysterectomy...

Aly is just getting into the Wimpy Kid books...I may get her one for her Easter basket. ;)

Kathy, Aly and DH are also both suffering from their allergies this week.

It's almost 80 here- so the kids are swimming again in freezing water- but it is a TAD warmer. I am even hot right now sitting outside watching them. The kids are numb to the cold they said- they can't feel it any more.:scared1:

My new friend, Becki, whom I met here first on the Dis homeschool thread, and just moved down here too- yeah, well she just got a part time job working on Main St USA!!! Did you know part time employees get 50% off of Disney cruises???

Jamie- to a mom, artwork from your kids, no matter how old, is a PERFECT gift. I should show you what my kids made me for my kitchen- I framed it-it is really pretty. They took NOLA pics and drew and painted it to thier liking. One is a streetcar and one is a building in NOLA.
I really like your fleur de lis for your mom- she will love it!

Add me to the needing to lose weight. I wanna get a hot Florida bod-:rotfl:

I used a WHOLE $22 roundup can on my front yard and part of the side yard. I am gonna do the bug killer (chinch bugs ate the grass) tomorrow cuz it is gonna rain Friday and we cannot figure out, even after looking online, HOW to use the sprinkler system. And you will get fined $400 for using your sprinklers on non sprinkler days.

Kristina- (((hugs)))) girl- he's being a PITA.

Jenny- get the type of hysterectomy I had- superacervical hysterectomy. No cuts- except for belly button and shorter recovery. Beleive me you still FEEL it right after- it is major surgery. If you have any questions just PM me. It is supposed to be better for "other" stuff too.;)

Lori

I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago and it was the best thing I've ever done for my health. I was miserable in my 30s because of gyno problems.

Rie's mom - Love the swan rocker & other gifts! Just be sure & remind her she never was an ugly duckling.

I was afraid of the ugly duckling image too, so I Googled Swan totem animal. The animal names for the groups are taken from Indian totems and have that meaning.

The Swan

Graceful, elegant birds the swan seems to glide through the water hardly leaving a ripple behind.

Swans are one of the fastest fliers. Their wing beats are slow but steady. This gives them the endurance they need to reach their destination quickly with out tiring. Those with this totem ahve the same abilities and serve and then apply the swan's movements when pursuing goals.

The swans large wings embrace the sky collecting and storing knowledge from the heavens. Their white plumage reminds us of the wonder and innocence found in the purity of spirit. Their long necks serve as a bridge between the mundane and the extraordinary. Upon this bridge lies the wisdom for spiritual realization.

The swan mates for life. This is a powerful lesson for those who hold this medicine. Honoring commitments increases ones integrity.

Swans are sociable birds with a long lifespan. It is a totem that teaches us grace through movement and longevity through inner knowledge.

When we look upon the swan, it invokes a feeling of tranquility in us and reminds us to experience the beauty and magic of life.

Tonight, we will talk to Rie for the 1st time in 7 weeks!!!!! We're so excited. I've been crying tears of joy off and on since we found out earlier today from our liaison.
Tim and I have decided that just the 3 of us will go to WDW and to the beach-maybe Sanibel- for a couple of weeks when she finishes school. It will gives us family time to get reacquainted. This will probably be sometime in late April or early May.

I am feeling a lot better today. For the past two days I have been feeling terrible due to allergies/sinus/cold?? not sure what it was, but I'm feeling better today--thank goodness.

Julie, enjoy talking with your girl tonight:goodvibes

Lori, I'm glad they're enjoying the pool.

Jamie, I love your artwork. I'm with Cara--this time of year would be wonderful for a party in the backyard. There's a lot of restaurants who cater. Semolina has excellent salads and pastas. I've used them before for get togethers. Zea also has wonderful panini platters. They are attractive and delicious. You can also get their flavored ice teas, which would be really refreshing.

Jenny, I had the uterine ablasion last July and I've never regretted it once. Its so nice to go on vacation and plan and not have to worry about it being that time of the month to drag you down. :hug:for you.

Kat, I hope Kyle gets some relief from his allergies.

Julie – I’m so excited y’all will get to talk to Rie tonight! I’m sure you will be crying tears of joy.

Mary – Glad you’re feeling better!

Lori – That’s incredible that part-timers get that kind of a discount!:cool1: Glad the kiddos are enjoying their pool already!

Sooo looks like everyone that had a hysterectomy are happier girls now. I'm ok with it, tired of all the issues, but I have been hoping to salvage things because I wanted to try for another child. Chad is not on board anymore, he will be 40 in June so.. looks like no point in trying and since no more trying Dr thinks I just need to have all removed. Had surgery last March and cysts were back by Sept or Oct. '
Cried when she recommended it but Chad promised I could have a puppy .. :rotfl: A girl, so I can dress her up lmao.

Julie, so glad you get to talk to Marie!! I'm about to get teary for you .

Now you are making me feel bad because I am sending my mom one of the paintings I did at corks and canvas for her 60th birthday in May. Your art is gorgeous. And coming from a mother... macaroni on construction paper is STILL a treasure :flower3:

Diary of a Wimpy kid isn't appropriate for Jack. The kid is going into MIDDLE school, not second grade. More on that on my reply to Monique

Well, we saw it with my coworkers husband and daughter. Not planned, just same theatre. He didn't like it either. But don't tell your husband that. I will admit that snot and boogers make me vomit. Not cause I want it to, just a natural reaction for me. I had to cover my eyes more than once cause of one booger loving kid. My boys read the whole series, and the rule in our house is when you read the book then you can see the movie. The books are always better. I see this as a Sandlot type movie, one that takes a while to grow on you. There are some good parts, but it was just so over the top at time...
:hug:Hope you feel better!

Thanks!

Add me to the hysterectomy list. I had the good old fashioned open you up and rip it out kind. It wasn't originally going to be that way so it was a shock when I woke up. I had cervical cancer so it wasn't my only option but really was my only option. We had been throwing around the idea of a fourth child so I was slightly sad about letting that part of my life go, BUT I don't regret it. Not even a little. I figure if we really wanted a fourth child we would adopt and although Sean and I have occasionally gotten that crazy idea, thankfully not at the same time. I am grateful everytime I don't need to buy feminine products at the store. If you do end up with a traditional hysterectomy, I spent the first two days in more pain than I thought possible, but by day four I was at Logan's K graduation and was even able to do lunch with him after. Two weeks later, I didn't feel like the procedure ever took place. And like everyone said, very very happy I did it.

I will also have the traditional kind, because my cyst on left side is on the large side she can't do it any other way.

The surgery I had last year, was also traditional way due to size of cysts, but also had my appendix removed since scarring was attached to it. Recovery time in hospital was 3 nights and spent a two weeks in slow motion. The pain seemed alot worse due to the appendix being gone, I was up and around within two days after C section even with the stitches.

I am not in any pain for now, so I plan on holding on to my pieces and parts for a little longer . LOL.

Since I have been on Lupron shots , all has been well, but I am off now soo... we shall see how long being pain free lasts.

No whining though, things could be worse, just a shock to be told no more kids ever.. and If I ever win the lottery Chad promised we would be the next Angelina and Brad . :rotfl:

:sad1: Looks like we won't talk to her until tomorrow night. I'm so sad. There are lots of kids who need to call home and Rie just made it to the phase today that allows her to call us, so maybe other kids were ahead of her.

Hugs Julie! When will she get a turn?
