Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Hey Y'all, GOOD NEWS!!! Alexis is out of the hospital!! We are at my house now, while her Mom goes get the meds & gets her house ready for her. She is very happy to be out. She will have to take 2 antibiotics, she's allowed to resume activities as she feels up to it.

AWESOME....yes her aunties were praying for her quick release. :yay:

hey - keep posting but must keep eating it!

got some rest last night..still tired but doing ok today. must just have been tired.

 to you girl....what's going on?

hey gals, i just talked to Sheryl, whose phone actually worked at the hospital, and she asked me to pass along the info....

Alexis is doing much better today, as yesterday was a bad day for her.She was in the playroom and even ate a little breakfast. She has no fever but the white count won't behave(staying high, but I think from what she has gone through as far as infection goes....). They are HOPING that she is discharged today- all depends on her bodily function though;).

gotta go the real estate agent is puling in my driveway to show the house!

Lori

How did the house showing go?

Open House was, well, typical Open House. I swear they are all the same everywhere. This one was only in English. When my mom went to my high school open house, she came home and said it was really long because it was translated into 4 languages.

:yay::woohoo::banana::cool1: ALEXIS is HOME!!!!:yay::woohoo::banana::cool1::thumbsup2
Oh, the showing went really well and the agent was so nice. I even called the agents office to compliment her being so open to an FSBO person. Most agents frown at us! But that is thier problem I think. I ahve been praying about this whole thing and one thing we are praying for is for the paperwork part to be smooth and the agent to be patient. The real estate lawyer we will close with told us we could run any legal document by him before signing, so I am sure that can take some extra time. The lady was financed and loved the master bedroom best!

They know we will be gone next week so if an offer came through from them I think it will be later.

On that note-I feel so blessed b/c my young college aged friend and her fiance will be staying at our home watching our puppies for us. She has an apt in Hammond, but she told me she is looking forward to a few days of NO roomate. I am paying her $150 for taking care of my pups. I like them home and she is willing! She doesn't have to stay but prefers too. I guess they are playing married but what I don't know won't hurt me;). They are getting married next June/July(not sure which), so they are practically there anyway. She is a wonderful girl and if my kids turn out half as good as her I will feel lucky.

Well, I gotta get up at the b~~crack of dawn to meet my sister at the hospital for her son. He is having his adenoids out and my mom is out of town and she asked me to be with her. I mean her hubby is there but so is his mom and that ain't a good situation:rolleyes1.

NO MORE SCHOOL FOR US TILL we get back from WDW!!!:dance3:I just need to stop even though I planned on going through tomorrow, but with my DN9mos tomorrow, I am done fried! Ready for Mickey!

BTW- for any of you going to WDW soon check out Target for TONS of clearance travel/dorm gear. It was like more than half of target was on clearance. OR if you need any type of bedding. I was half wishing we were moved already and I knew what I needed! But I am glad I am here still!

Good morning, everyone! So glad to hear Miss A is home and our other two princesses (Aly & Rie) are doing better!

Anybody else discombobulated because of the Monday holiday? I've been off on my days all week. My kids must think I'm nuts because I know I've asked them repeatedly about upcoming tests & homework schedules, but I can't seem to remember a thing.

Hope you are feeling better today Kat!

I have been going to bed at 10:30p (unheard of for me) and getting up 6:15am but I am still dog tired...have been taking these mega dose Vitamin D things but no clue why feel so tired...

skate night tonight. G is making me nuts - 3 D's so far in only 2 weeks of school. she says she "studies" but really doesn't. so mom is cracking the whip and making her study....

Hey Y'all,

Alexis is doing well, eating some & moving slowly. But she is starting to sing & smile, overall act more like herself!:lovestruc  :dance3:

Again, :grouphug:Thanks so much for all of your support, concern & prayers!!

Her poor Mom had reached the ragged edge yesterday & had a meltdown. She dropped off the two rx's at Walgreen's then went home to clean up. Went back to pick them up & they handed her one prescription. When she told them she dropped off two, they tried to tell her she hadn't! Well after much fussing & Chris insisting they find the other rx, they finally found it but said "Oh we can't fill this it's a compound prescription". Well by this time it's 6:00 & they tell her she'd have to go to the St Charles store. She shows up here in tears. She calls the Walgreens on St Charles & they tell her they'll have to see the prescription before they'll know if they have the medicines on hand to make it & that it would take them 24 hours to do it!!! So I finally had her call DD's best friend who's a pharmacist at Majoria. She told her that they could do it for her when they reopened in the morning. Alexis would be fine with just the one overnight. She went in this morning & had her medicine within 20 minutes!

I'm glad our other 2 girl's, Aly & Rie are feeling better!

Kristina & Kat, I don't know what's going on with you two, but I hope you both feel better very soon.

I'm am so out of it, I don't know what day is what. I put the garbage out on Tues night, when pickup was Tues. morning. :upsidedow

Lori, EEeeeeeeh! :yay: Disneyworld!!!!

O Sheryl you need to take a few days and rest. Her poor mama as well; I know she must be at her wits end. She also needs a good nights rest.

Girl I have no idea what day of the week it is... I keep thinking it is Friday and have no idea what is going on with Jack at school. I have to keep looking at schedule!

Sheryl-oh please give Chris a hug for me- been there and done it.:headache: . Glad Alexis is starting to sing and dance again!:thumbsup2

My hubby FINALLY told me today, "you know what? NOW I am excited!":rotfl:
My kids are starting to bounce of the walls for Saturday to get here already and I am exhausted and not functioning well. napped but could stayed there till morning. Paul came home early, also tired b/c he has been on my schedule too, napped and is now cutting the grass so he doesn't have to worry about THAT all week. He likes the lawn looking good-always, not just now:laughing:.

I am not even sure I am completely packed b/c I haven't looked at MY luggage since last week. I did the kids, checked and rechecked~ did Paul's on Tuesday night, with him~ need to recheck mine now!

I'll be more excited tomorrow!

Gavin, my nephew, did fine today-we did find out he is one of those kids who freaks out coming out of anasthesia(sp?)- he was screaming his cute little head off:guilty:.

Gabbi, who was in school, was freaking out that we were coming her way but not going to see her b/c I needed to get home before school was out. She got A's and B's on her interim report, so my DSis, NOT on my request, went to get her after lunch so we could all be together for a couple hours. I think the child is leary of the limited time we have here:sad2::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty:(guilt , anyone?)with her. That child is amazing and I am gonna miss her so much-ugh.......:guilty:ok, not going there NOW, while I am exhausted.

Lori

Saturday!!!

I'm glad the showing went well.

Hugs and prayers for your nephew's recovery.

Thanks for the Target heads up. I'm going there tomorrow.

NO GUILT!!!!

Kat and Kristina, how are you today?

Kathy and Kristina - Are you feeling better?

Lori - Have a great time on your trip! It's so close now!

I got my new phone today. It's driving me nuts trying to figure it out. About a year ago, I went from a flip phone to a Blackberry. Now I'm doing the opposite and can't remember much about it. And I keep looking for the "other stuff" that a smart phone has...but it's just not there. :sad2: But for a third of the monthly service cost, I suppose I can deal with it. And

Kathy - I'll get you the updated information soon to put on the emergency contact list.

So I am SO GLAD I'm not in NYC this year. Their crummy weather aside, I hear that the school is even MORE unorganized this year than last! My friend has a class list of 34 and she keeps getting more. They are in two different grades and they are varying levels of English proficiency; she has to teach lessons in both Spanish and English. She has no textbooks and no notebooks. She is two days into the school year and already behind on paperwork, in part because she has not yet gotten that either. She is not allowed to be in the building later than 4pm, yet is expected to get everything done. We always said we were flattered they thought we could work such miracles.
