Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

DD is home and talking up a storm. :yay: She did get to see Bella Karoli but did not get any pics with him. :confused3 This was an experience she will never forget.

We are going to the waterpark in Gulfport with a group of families from the gym. This will be our last big bash before school. :)

I'm glad she had fun!

I start work tomorrow...about 12 hours from now. :scared:

Don't be scared, you're going to be great! :goodvibes

It just means you are more officially HERE!!! I hope and pray you will LOVE it and never want to leave!!;)

I'm worried about Kyle right now, it is storming here and our street is starting to flood. He's picking up Mariah in Waggaman and coming back here before they go out for dinner.

I am thinking he got home okay??? Like I have said- I am so not looking forward to those worries-but I can virtual HUG you right now:hug::hug:.

Almost gave it all away today- I was on speakerphone with DH and didn't know it. He was telling me Ash was thinking her hair would be a couple inches longer and I said, "she'll appreciate it when we are sweating our butts of in Disney World":headache:. She only heard the DW part and Paul made up something that she later told me she didn't believe. So she kept asking me and not wanting to lie to her face, I changed the subject every time-so I think she knows now-but not any details about when.

Please stick an extra thought/prayer in there for Paul and I-we are both stressed and not thinking we are and things have been tiptoe-y around here. It bugs me b/c this is not usual for us for this long. I mean we have ups and downs like any other couple. But I always remind him- due to leukemia- our stress levels are automatically higher normally, so things that can be small may throw us over the edge at times. This selling/moving/buying a home thing is causing extra stress on us both-even though it is under the radar most of the time. We just think we can handle anything now!!!

Lori

Morning ladies!

Bethany, big hugs- you'll do great today!!!!:teacher:

:yay:Terry, I didn't realize your daughter is a gymnast. Wow, where was her camp?

How'd they do? It was pouring over here for a while too.

Little Anabelle needed to go out and kept sitting by the door. It's not easy to housetrain a dog when half the time she wants to go out, it's pouring and I can't take her out! Or if I try, she runs right back in! :rotfl:

They made out just fine, just me being a worried Mom.:sad2:

Poor little Anabelle.:rotfl:

OOOPS!!!

Prayer said and I will continue praying for y'all. Who has leukemia? I'll say extra prayers for that too.

Sorry I've been quiet a while. I've been reading, just very tired. to those who need them. It was a long busy week, made worse by a coworker. And it was a rotten, rotten day yesterday driving to Slidell through the deluge for my uncle's birthday, only to be ridiculed in front of a room full of people by my grandma, then called and blamed by my boss b/c said coworker can't get her act together. To top it all off, when we get home the house reeks of the stench of the mashed potatoes Tony left out in the kitchen. :crazy2: So I yelled at him to clean up the damn kitchen. There's no reason he should let any food sit there long enough to start stinking like rot. :furious: It's not like he's employed.

Instead of him thinking "gee, it does stink in here. That's pretty disgusting, let me clean it up," he starts a fight claiming I'm just mad about the rest of the day and I should leave him alone b/c he didn't do anything. Uh, Yeah. Why do you think I'm mad? I'm not mad b/c you DID clean the kitchen and throw out the potatoes. :sad2: He will never learn.

I am spending today in bed in front the tv and on the laptop (execpt for Louie's insulin and blood sugars). I will need to get up and walk (I skipped yesterday) and eat at some point, but not right now.

I can sense the frustration and anger in your post. Special thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Hi guys...a quick check in; we've been gone pretty much all day. We had a great time at the water park. There wasn't many folks there and the entrance fee this entire week is buy one entrance get one free..:yay:

:yay:Terry, I didn't realize your daughter is a gymnast. Wow, where was her camp?

Yes she is; she attended Bella Karolis gym in New Waverly, Texas for 4 days. She attends Allstar Gymnastics on the WestBank.

Thanks everybody! :goodvibes (Or is that "thanks y'all"?)

The kids don't even come until next Thursday, giving us 8 days to have meetings and prepare.

Have a great day!

Bethany, how was your 1st day?

no one HAS leukemia, but DD11 HAD leukemia, so as parent of a cancer kid and survivor, our stress levels are just always just a bit higher than they were before cancer-till we die probably!:rotfl:

Glad your day went well Bethany!

I cannot even imagine the stress that this would cause. Thank God she is well.

Wow - looks like y'all have been busy!

Haven't been around for a while because we snuck away to Gulf Shores for a few days last week trying to stretch out those last few days of summer. DH thankfully left the laptop home (so he couldn't work!), but that also meant I was disconnected from the internet. It was all good - I automatically had an excuse that I couldn't access my work email, and I don't bother with his Crackberry, so an electronics diet was in order. Lots of reading time for me!

Yesterday was a whirlwind, trying to play vacation catch-up plus bringing the kids to school to meet teachers, drop off supplies, etc. I can't believe they start tomorrow! :teacher:

Still have a lot of work ahead, so  to all who need them. BBL

well, it has been a while- she has been off chemo for over 6 years-but Paul and i always agree that our "normal" stress level has been raised for good. We are TOTALLY different people than before our child had cancer-and I barely remember those people;). But they were much more organized and "planners".

Hey y'all!

Another scorcher out there today. We've spent a lot of time outside the past two days (City Park, the lakefront), so I'm staying in the AC today!

Terry- A waterpark sounds sooo nice right about now! I'm glad y'all had a good time!

Bethany- I'm glad you had a good first day!

Lori- Only one month to go! I'm doing my little girl squeal for you!

Kathy- Is next weekend the big move for Kyle?

So I have no idea what is wrong with me lately- since I've had Erik, I can't cook!:confused3 I can't put a meal together to save my life, and I've been overcooking and undercooking things. So not like me. I also can't make any kind of decisions, even about the smallest things. I stand in front of the fridge and just can't decide what I want to eat, so sometimes I just don't eat anything at all. I'm losing my mind!

Lorie - You're not losing your mind girlfriend, you're being very hard on yourself. Remember you are doing the hardest job in the world x 2!!!!! Things will all fall into place soon.

My boy only has four more nights at home then he's off on Saturday to his new home in Baton Rouge. We'll be going up Saturday and depending on how much we can get done, we may be going back on Sunday. It's starting to sink in, I caught Johnny looking at old pics of Kyle when he was about 7 and tears were streaming down his cheek.:sad1:
