Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Well Kodi seems to be doing ok for now. I gave her a piece of toast and water/pedialyte mix. we shall see. Thanks for the support guys.

We were out in the heat to see the Disney Christmas Carol train. I had to be the hottest day of the year so far!! I'm glad we went though. The crowd wasn't too bad. My in-laws went this morning at 9am and said they waited for an hour. We went at 3pm, and the sign said 45 minute wait. But we only waited for about 20 minutes. I'll try to post some pictures later.

I'm still debating about going to this or not. It's supposed to be open I think 9-4 tomorrow also. I've read on here that some people have waited 3 hours or so in other cities.

We had another hit today. I had to take Rie to the doc for an abcess that developed on her leg-she's on Bactrim and Bactraban and also Tylenol with codeine for the pain but she's ok, thank God!

While waiting to see the doc, my husband called to tell me that our 16 yo niece had a mild stroke. She is the one who comes with us tho Disney on most of our trips. I don't know if y'all remember but she is the niece whose mom and grandma talked her into the lap band last year. Rie and I were able to see her off in the ambulance that took her from Thibodaux Regional to Children's Hospital in New Orleans. They will run tests. All we know is that it was on the right side of her brain because her left side was affected. At one point, her face was drooping and her speech was slurred. She also used the wrong words in sentences. Please pray for her.

On a better note, my depression has, for the most part, lifted. Thanks for the prayers!

 I can't believe how much you are going through right now.

This had me very nervous about taking them to Disney, as they do horrible waiting in Walmart lines... but then again, so do I.:rotfl::rolleyes1

One day, we are gonna have to get you to one of these meets!

No matter how hard I try, I am not able to get back on a schedule. I feel asleep at a decent hour only to wake up now and not only up, but can't get back to sleep kind of up... ugh. Monday is gonna hurt a bit, Tuesday is gonna be really bad. At least the kids don't come back until the 20th...

Walmart lines are sooooo irritating because they BUILT something like 32 lanes but only open 6 or 8 of them. So you're standing there staring at 24 lanes that COULD be open but are NOT. :headache: At least at WDW there is something FUN at the end of the line and they typically operate at capacity if it's crowded.

Yes, Julie needs to make it to a meet someday.

I was ON a good sleep schedule...until today. :headache: I don't know what my problem is. I'm exhausted. I have slept almost literally all day. I went to bed around 11 last night, woke up around 11 today, then went down for a nap around 1 or 2 and got up at 4:30. :confused3

GM Gang ......I was awakened at 4 this morning by Kodi throwing up and heaving....i cleaned her and her bed up and she went back to sleep. Well she did it again about an hour later...it was clear liquid. Poor baby...not sure what's going on; I haven't changed her diet or anything.

Poor girl. Both you and the dog - she feels crummy and you feel bad for her AND have to clean the mess. I saw your later post about how she's doing better now. :thumbsup2

so sorry I couldn't go to lunch - I ws feeling really bad and had several doc appts Thursday...

have an all day volunteer event and leading kids worship tomorrow at church. and my sister wants to come in and go to part of the event today and to church tomorrow. which is SO cool cause she is an atheist. really! so pray God touches her heart tomorrow

I am sorry you couldn't go too. I hope those dr appts are paying off for you.

How'd the event go? I'll pray for you sister.

I don't know if we are going to head out to the train or not. The weather was predicted to be awful, but it looks okay now. We have a niece's 16th b-day party this evening. Crab & shrimp boil!!:cool1:

I hope the party is great!

Thanks for the hug. We're waiting to hear more about my niece. All we know right now is she is still in intensive care because they're afraid she could have another stroke. It will probably be Monday before they start more extensive testing.

I really do want to get to a meet with y'all. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think I need to still meet riesmom and Bethany, too!!! I THINK I may have met everyone else-fporgive me if I missed you.

I feel I know Bethany from all our late night talks on FB!;)

I am so sorry about your neice riesmom- she is soo young to be going through all that.

Terry- hope Kodi is feeling better.

I am sooooooooooo itching to start packing- i feel like I am gonna bust!:scared1:

Lori

Evening Friends,

Bethany, Thanks, the party was very good! Very well seasoned (extra spicy) boiled shrimp & crabs and two kinds of homemade cakes! :cool1: DD made the "official" b-day cake, a "from scratch" chocolate-chocolate cake that was awesome! DNiece also made a her own cakes. Two types of icecream cookie cakes that were also really really good!

Julie, I'm praying for your niece!!! :flower3::hug: I really hope I can meet you too!

I think there are a very few the Nola gals that I haven't met, you & Jaime come to mind right now. We need to try to plan something!

Terry, I'm glad to hear Kodi is doing all right!

Happy Sunday gang....

I am so excited that my baby girl comes home today...pick them up at the airport at 5.

I have been to church, cleaned up a bit, washed a few loads of clothes and am now enjoying a nice glass of coffee.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

You didn't do the coffee FIRST? I've had coffee and coke already and I'm still a bit sluggish. :sad2: I've also done laundry and cleaned up some stuff. I'm trying to get my act together for tomorrow.

Let me know when we can arrange the next meet. Now that Rie is cheering for her school rather than competitions, our weekends are free. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!!!
Terry, I'm so glad that your daughter is coming home!

Lori, thanks for the concern. I spoke to my niece( mother) and she said that her daughter's face had sagged again and they were very worried but that she had another scan and it came back as before, so that was a relief. Rie is upset because she can't visit yet as niece is still in ICU. Hopefully, she'll go into a regualer room soon and we can see her.

Julie, I'm so sorry to read this about your niece. I will keep her in my prayers.

Afternoon Y'all,

Julie, I'm sorry that your niece is still in ICU, prayers for her.
I'm glad to hear that you may have more free time for a get-together!

Terry, Glad you'll have your girl back today! Can't wait to hear about her camp.

We sure had a rough time getting to church. It rained hard here right before, but had slacked off about a half hour before. We thought let's go now before it's starts up again. Well we drove through deep water in the subdivision then on Barataria we had to stop in a parking lot. We could see from the canals that the pumps weren't on! Bob decided we should try to get back home, well driving around trying to do that, we saw that the water began to flow in the canal. So we stopped again & waited til it went down some. There were a few cars stalled when we finally made our way to church. We were about 5 minutes late, but at least we made it.

We've had skype for awhile now. It was so cool when DD went to Europe & we could talk to her for 2cents a minute.

That's nice...August...New Orleans...rain predicted...pumps OFF.

You really are dedicated, though! I would have given up...oh wait...I wouldn't have attempted in the first place. :rolleyes1 I claim newbie status.

I saw the photos on FB. She really looks great! :goodvibes

So I got called a baby on another forum... for using A/C. :rotfl: Why NOT use it if I have it? :confused3 This is the same one with side conversations in French and yeeeaaaah....I think I really am done over there. (BTW, this is one of the ones that got in the argument with a different one last August/September...I know I've mentioned it at some point...I think?)

So I've been having really wild dreams again lately....none of them have been funny...they've all been nightmares, some worse than others. :sad2: I only remember two (both from last night):
- I was at WDW in Fantasyland and a friend of mine was a CM at one of the rides (Peter Pan?) and she got the swine flu and collapsed and died at her spot at the front of the queue. Everybody was mad that they had to wait longer because of the medical personnel coming in. I was walking around crying and getting mad that people were upset about the ride when someone had just died. :confused3
- I was living at my apartment in Denver and there was a fire in my building but farther down, so I was trying to grab a few things before I got out, but I was very upset because I couldn't find some photos that I wanted and I needed to get out. I woke up before I found the stuff and got out of the building. :confused3

Maybe this is why I'm so tired...my sleep is wearing me out!

I am so excited that my baby girl comes home today...pick them up at the airport at 5.

I'm sure you're both excited!!!!!

Let me know when we can arrange the next meet.

My weekends are going to be free after next weekend!

Glad to hear y'all made it!

I'm worried about Kyle right now, it is storming here and our street is starting to flood. He's picking up Mariah in Waggaman and coming back here before they go out for dinner.

How'd they do? It was pouring over here for a while too.

Little Anabelle needed to go out and kept sitting by the door. It's not easy to housetrain a dog when half the time she wants to go out, it's pouring and I can't take her out! Or if I try, she runs right back in! :rotfl:

DD is home and talking up a storm. :yay: She did get to see Bella Karoli but did not get any pics with him. :confused3 This was an experience she will never forget.

We are going to the waterpark in Gulfport with a group of families from the gym. This will be our last big bash before school. :)
