Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Lori, I know it must be hard to show the house, I'm glad Paul was able to do it for you. It sounds like it would be best to keep Ashton out of the house when potential buyers come through! Otherwise she might start talking about all of the "remember when"!

Serena, Did you hear from your girl last night? Try not to worry if she gets a little homesick, I know she will still have a blast!

Hey y'all!

I had such a nice time yesterday- it was great seeing y'all again! It was so nice to get away from the chaos (my house!) for one afternoon...:cloud9:

Bethany- Thanks again for the chairs! Sienna *loves* hers! She sat in it for the rest of the day, reading to her Pooh Bear. :cutie:

Kathy and Kristina- How are you both doing today?

Lori- I'm glad the house process is moving along for you. Too funny about having to "muzzle" Ashton outside!

Mary- I got teary just reading your post- :sad1:  I can't imagine doing that with Sienna years from now- I know I'll be a mess!

She tried but we were unable to hear each other very well...the boondocks is not the cell phones best friend. :rolleyes1 I hope she gets to meet some of the well known gymnasts...she took my camera to capture the memories.

You're welcome! That is so cute! :cutie:

Kathy - How are you feeling?

Kristina - Any answers yet? Are you feeling better?

I got TWO phone books today on my porch. :woohoo: I'm allergic to them (the newspaper too...) :rotfl2:

We are off to get ice cream. It's kinda hot today.

Terry, I'm glad you were able to sort of hear her voice! I'm sure she'll get some good pics with some great gymnasts.

Bethany, There is a good yogurt shop on Manhattan, Cherry Berry. I just had some mango yogurt with fresh mango on top from there. It was yummy. It's self-serve and you pay by weight, so that kept me from getting too much!

DD & I went see Julie & Julia. We both loved it, Meryl Streep really made me feel like I was seeing Julia Child! Now I want to read the book & I need Child's The Art of French Cooking.

Kat, What did the dr tell you? Hope you are feeling better!

We went to Baskin Robbins on Lapalco. We had a BOGO coupon so it was like $3.50 for 2 of those dipped waffle cones. YUM!

Not as healthy as yogurt, but it was goooooood. :thumbsup2

Just getting time to post since I got back from the Dr. Same thing as what I had 6 months ago, bad ear infection. The antivert didn't work at all for me this time and my doc said it's now over the counter so he prescribed me a new vertigo drug. Hopefully it will work next time I need it. At least I'm able to walk today! I'd better be 100% for tomorrow & Sunday, got to finish up apartment shopping.:sad1:

Kristina, hope you're feeling better!

Tonight is a USA Network watching night. I love MONK and PYSCHE so me and mom are propped in the living room laughing at Monk. He is a mess. :woohoo:

Me to Girl....she was able to text me today saying can't text too much so good morning, good night and I love you for the next 3 days." I just LOL. :)

I will have to try this Cherry Berry place....where is it located?

Kathy I hope this medicine kicks in fast and you are feel better soon my friend.

Kat, I hope you're feeling better real soon:hug:

Bethany, yes it was HOT today!

We were out in the heat to see the Disney Christmas Carol train. I had to be the hottest day of the year so far!! I'm glad we went though. The crowd wasn't too bad. My in-laws went this morning at 9am and said they waited for an hour. We went at 3pm, and the sign said 45 minute wait. But we only waited for about 20 minutes. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Kat and Kristina, I hope you feel better soon!!!!

We had another hit today. I had to take Rie to the doc for an abcess that developed on her leg-she's on Bactrim and Bactraban and also Tylenol with codeine for the pain but she's ok, thank God!

While waiting to see the doc, my husband called to tell me that our 16 yo niece had a mild stroke. She is the one who comes with us tho Disney on most of our trips. I don't know if y'all remember but she is the niece whose mom and grandma talked her into the lap band last year. Rie and I were able to see her off in the ambulance that took her from Thibodaux Regional to Children's Hospital in New Orleans. They will run tests. All we know is that it was on the right side of her brain because her left side was affected. At one point, her face was drooping and her speech was slurred. She also used the wrong words in sentences. Please pray for her.

On a better note, my depression has, for the most part, lifted. Thanks for the prayers!

 to you my friend. Hope your DD and neice get better soon.

I am glad you are feelling better. :)

Oh, NOW I am jealous-you got to see Lorie's haven- her yard- it always looks soooo pretty in pics. of course, with all Todd's creepy crawlies, I may be a little jumpy! But as long as there is no roach...........I can handle any other bug-from a distance:rolleyes1

Yeah, we have had to sorta step back from our home and it is much easier. Did I tell you we had our 1st showing Monday night? It was for a MIL of a family who lives less than a mile away. They thought it was "charming". I had plans with some friends and wasn't here, so Paul showed it. I felt a tiny bit guilty till the strawberry margarita hit home:laughing:. I helped paul straighten up and had all my dirty clothes in the car I was out in
(:rotfl:). I was glad he showed it first b/c i think I'd have cried while showing them all the good things about the place.

Paul made the kids go outside with the dogs- but some of it was b/c Ashton is brutally honest , even about mundane things. We do NOT lie(well not to each other or others, but heck, for our kids:rolleyes1.........:lmao:), but she may tell them about how the dog ate the window sill, or how the guys that fixed all the little things in the house-just stuff that we have taken care of already and no one really needs to know. I mean, I know we have to disclose problems and stuff- and we will- but those are NOT good things when selling a home to say!!

Glad you all had fun!

Lori

Kids always say the darnest things...
I am sorry I missed out on Lories children and yard too! Fletcher had a bad case of the swimmers ear. Thankfully the doctor gave us an extra large bottle of drops so I could start treating it right away.

Terry, I'm glad you were able to sort of hear her voice! I'm sure she'll get some good pics with some great gymnasts.

We went too... it was fun, and I am glad we went. The kids can't wait for the movie. We didn't due the 10 minute preview because the kids were anxious to get to the zoo, and Logan didn't want to ruin the real movie.

What made me happy was despite the line, the kids did fantastic waiting. All of them. This had me very nervous about taking them to Disney, as they do horrible waiting in Walmart lines... but then again, so do I.:rotfl::rolleyes1

Oh your poor neice and Rie! I hope that she is able to recover quickly. Do they know what caused it yet? Is this her first one?
I am also glad the fog is lifting for you! One day, we are gonna have to get you to one of these meets!

No matter how hard I try, I am not able to get back on a schedule. I feel asleep at a decent hour only to wake up now and not only up, but can't get back to sleep kind of up... ugh. Monday is gonna hurt a bit, Tuesday is gonna be really bad. At least the kids don't come back until the 20th...

GM Gang ......I was awakened at 4 this morning by Kodi throwing up and heaving....i cleaned her and her bed up and she went back to sleep. Well she did it again about an hour later...it was clear liquid. Poor baby...not sure what's going on; I haven't changed her diet or anything.

Kathy, I'm so sorry that the vertigo is giving you trouble again! I hope your doc can give you something & can get to the bottom of the cause!

Lori, I think it's good that you're getting calls on the house!

Julie, I'm sure you look like a girl even without the makeup!

Mary, I'm sorry you had such a busy day & couldn't join us. I'm happy for you that you were able to go with David for his pics. It's okay to get weepy over them growing up, in fact I think it's impossible not to!

Kristina, How are you feeling? When will you get results from your tests?

We had a great time today! Mandina's was yummy, but the company was even better! Thanks Bethany for chauffeuring me around town! Lorie, Thanks for inviting us in to see your pretty home, garden & beautiful children!
so sorry I couldn't go to lunch - I ws feeling really bad and had several doc appts Thursday...
TGIF Nola....how's everyone this morning?

Kathy I hope the doc can fix you up really quick.

Lorie I wish I could have joined you guys in visiting y our home.. :(

Lori glad to hear things are picking up for you guys with regards to the house. Yes kids can be brutally honest. even when we don't want them to be. LOL

Kristina....what's up with you? how did your tests turn out?
haven't gotten any results yet. I am not expecting anything out of the ordinary. I couldn't start taking all the medications the neurologist prescribed because of the sinusitis ...

I had a great time too! :goodvibes

You're welcome! That is so cute! :cutie:

Grayce and Jeff were out there too at the train yesterday in the middle of the day I think...she didn't tell me until late last night they saw Cara and crew. And I spoke with the doctor - I don't have to do that procedure we talked about unless I feel like I am being inconvenienced...so that is a relief! it is an option so I have the new doc if i want to.
Kat and Kristina, I hope you feel better soon!!!!

hard to get G back on a schedule....and i feel like I am in that fog lately. they gave me medication to start but I can't take it yet (the side effects are like the sinusitis - dizziness, nausea). I miss hanging with everyone but don't really have the energy to hang :( I hate that

Rie took her pain meds last night and said she wants to sleep 'til noon. I hope she does because poor little heart she was in a lot of pain.

Yes, this is her first stroke. My BIL is a ped and he admitted her to ICU, then he called in the neurologist who said definitely a stroke and recommended sending her to Children's. She's lost a good bit of weight from the lap band but has had problems with the dang thing from the start. She even had to have it redone because it slipped. Recently, she started to put back on some of the weight, I don't know if this could have caused the stroke. I'll keep y'all posted.

Rie started school yesterday and wow it was hard to get up at 5:30 am. I made myself get up this morning because I know it will help me to keep a schedule. Is the medication making you feel foggy? Sometimes, it can be a side effect that clears up. Talk to your pharmacist and then to your doctor if it keeps bothering you.

I'm praying that God does touch her heart. It looks to me though like He is and that you are His instrument. Have a wonderful worship service. Remember to take care of yourself!

Morning Y'all,

Sure were a chatty bunch overnight!

Me to Girl....she was able to text me today saying can't text too much so good morning, good night and I love you for the next 3 days." I just LOL. :)

I will have to try this Cherry Berry place....where is it located?

Terry, Darn kids, we worry & worry and then they go off & do fine without us! I'm glad she's having fun!

Cherry Berry is in a strip center, it sort of across from Target but closer to Lapalco. Another place that opened in the strip center right across from Target is the The Cheesecake Lady! Not healthy but she makes the BEST tasting cheesecakes EVER!!! 31 flavors of heaven, all natural products, no preservatives! Her pineapple is so good!

I hope she's okay! Take her to the vet if she keeps this up much longer.

I don't know if we are going to head out to the train or not. The weather was predicted to be awful, but it looks okay now. We have a niece's 16th b-day party this evening. Crab & shrimp boil!!:cool1:

Poor baby, is she better now?

Thanks for all of the well wishes, I'm feeling much better! Kyle is eagerly awaiting Mariah's return from her cruise today so we'll put off finishing up his shopping until tomorrow.

Boy did I speak too soon about the weather! When I stuck my head outside I could see one half of the sky was blue the other was black. It's started raining already.

Kristina, I forgot to say I'm praying for you!:flower3:
