Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

I know I enjoyed meeting & hanging with Bethany today!! :goodvibes Of course I drug her along on my fav errand, grocery shopping. Even more fun with someone who gets so excited over the price of cheese!;)

Yes ... at a store with FOUR places to find cheese! :lmao: :rotfl2:

GM Ladies.....i was awaken this morning my DH cutting grass at 830!

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and get well soon.

Don't you know he just wanted to get it done early before it gets warmer!

Anabelle woke me at 5:30 to go outside so she can chew on the bark. She loves her some grass and bark.

Only a couple of hours before we meet up! :woohoo: The original plans have slightly changed, so if you are planning on going, make sure to call or PM me, Cara, Kristina, or Serena for the updated information! :thumbsup2

Have a great day!

Well i am off to the dr office today for my annual checkup.....i sure hope my chloresterol has improved...

Hope it went well!

Kathy I'm so sorry I missed your birthday. I hope it was a great one. :flower3:

TGIF! This week seemed to go by very fast for us. I think it was just a very busy week. I got Kelsie's proofs back yesterday. She took her Senior pictures on Tuesday. They took fourteen pictures and we actually agreed on which ones we liked best. I can order up to four poses but I think we'll just do the two we really like. One of the cap and gown and the other in the drape.

Thanks Tricia! Congrats on agreeing on the pics, I'm sure she looks beautiful, can you post one?

Today was my lucky day... I went to the PO Box and a PIN for FREE DINING was awaiting me :dance3:

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

So sad, I'm missing y'all....I've been ready to head to M&D's house for an hour now, waiting on pokey Johnny to get his butt in gear, we have a busy day today....:sad2:

OK, so the Dis is unusually fast for me this morning!

Kathy- happy belated birthday!!!!:wizard:

Terry- my hubby does the same thing- gets up EARLY to get the grass done before the HEAT gets horrible. Or he does it at night about 7pm.

I am sooo excited about our upcoming trip and I can share it with no one in thsi house but DH- who truly doesn't get pumped about vacations till the week before.

Ashton's play was cute cute cute and I will post video on FB later tonight-after the 2nd performance. She has her cast party in about 20 minutes so I gotta go-ya'll have fun meeting up again and hopefully I can get there next go round!!

Lori

Hey y'all,

Quick checkin, wedding day for niece today.

Kat, Enjoy your dinner tonight!

I'm sorry I'm missing the get together today! Have fun girls!

Lori, I'm glad the play was so good!

Have a great weekend friends!

Hi gang...back home from PP. We had a good time. Kristina will post pics on FB later. We are planning to take a trip to the HallMark store tomorrow at 3 if you guys wish to come. The new ornaments came out today.

My doctors aptmt went fine....as I expected she was not pleased about my weight gain. I told her I am on WW and 10K a day program so she was happy. I took my blood test so i should get my results next week. I am scared at what the chloresterol level will be.

Okay I am off to take a nap.

I was all confused....I was reading that PP was for tomorrow.:upsidedow Our plans are all screwed up today anyway, Kyle's game got pushed back to 7:00, our dinner reservations are for 7:30, so looks like he & Mariah will be at the ballpark while Johnny & I are at dinner.:guilty:

I can't wait to see Ashton's play.. I will look for it later

Lori! I understand your pain, my DH doesn't get truly excited until we are there. However, I do have to share our dining plans and a quick story about my DH. He got home yesterday (I called him from the post office parking lot too) asking for the "proof" of the free dining offer. You see, last week he caught me using the Disney Visa to pay off some of the vacation. We had agreed that we would incur no new debt to pull this off, so he kind lost it. Good thing I love him ... what I had been doing was paying the minimum balance... and then our vacation account money on top of that.. wait for it to clear, then call Disney and pay them using the visa instead of the debit card. Well, I told him about the free dining last year and it was in case they do the offer again this year... well... my DH being my DH thought I was off my rocker. Getting the offer showed him. Soooo... upon seeing the "proof"... DH all the sudden wanted my Disney books. After planning this thing for over a year... now someone decideds his imput is really important:rolleyes1 (it is, but I don't want to admit that now do I?) We basically decided to do the following... let me know if you see any big red flags, BUT DH is not too willing to budge on the choices. He decided free dining on vacation is going to be adventurous...

Saturday: Arrival POR/ Resort/Magic Kingdom
B: on road
L: Riverside Mill
D: Chef Mickey's (1900 Park Fare is the backup, but with boys, they prefer CM')
Sunday: Animal Kingdom
B: in the room (cereal and milk)
L: counter service flame tree bbq or pizzafari?
D: T-Rex (out of pocket)
Monday: Hollywood Studios
B: in the room
L: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
D: Boma (AKL)
Tuesday: Magic Kingdom
B: in the room
L: Columbia Harbour House (for sentimental reasons)
D: Ohana
Wednesday: Epcot
B: in the room
L: Sunshine Season's
D: Marrakesh
Thursday (children's choice in the morning, leave at noon to sisters)
B: Riverside Mill
no lunch since Thanksgiving dinner should be around 2ish

Thanks in advance

I had a ball today at PP's.

Kara- I think it sounds great! We are doing places we have never done before too-with exception of Sci-Fi. I understand about debt. I DO have this on my Disney card, but vacation savings are piling up and I will have about $200 disney reward points by the time we go. We put everything on it and pay it off every month. Sometimes we have a bad month and don't pay it off, but somehow, God willing, we have been able to catch up pretty quickly. I paid the $600 for airfare out of vacation savings.

I have one mpore to book and still haven't done it-my friends think I am crazy b/c I am always telling them just to book something and they can change it later-I just have NO idea where I wanna go!! I wish Rainforest or T-rex was on DDP-b/c then it would be easy for us.

So I have 1 more TS to book- I am thinking Teppan Edo, b/c my kids LOVE Osaka here, but we didn't plan on another park day-but I may have to suck it up and do it.

Lori

Good Morning y'all! :surfweb:

I'm sorry I didn't get to go yesterday. :guilty: Both kids were off the wall clingy/cranky yesterday, so it's a good thing the big shindig was postponed because I would've either had to miss it or leave early anyway.

Did y'all see the coverage of the Running of the Bulls in the Quarter yesterday? :rotfl: I'm sure people elsewhere are wondering what is in the water down here to make us do such crazy stuff. It's just New Orleans- we're just not right in the head. DH is sorry he missed it again this year- he knows some of the rollergirls and probably would have gotten pummeled. :lmao:

Cara- I think your plans look great! We're going to a lot of same places on our next trip- Columbia Harbor House is sentimental for us too. And DH is dying to try T-Rex (he says its for the kids, but I know better...;)) We love the POR food court too- the make your own pasta/salad/omelet stations are great! And they make great huge sundaes which are only a snack credit :thumbsup2 (unless that has changed).

We use our Disney Visa for our trips too and usually use either our tax refund or one of Todd's bonuses to pay it off (whichever comes first). I love those reward dollars!

Lori- I would love to try Teppan Edo! It looks like lots of fun! It is on my list of possibilities for our next trip also. Go for it! :thumbsup2

DH says we are definitely going next May because he is finally (!) getting a decent bonus this quarter. Those took a nosedive with the bad economy, but are starting to pick up- yay! We're going to take a chuck of the bonus and put it to the side for the trip before the money all gets sucked away (y'all know how that goes!).

Good morning NOLA!

Cara - your line-up looks great!:thumbsup2

Terry - hope you have a nice, relaxing day!:goodvibes

Sheryl - Can't wait to hear about the wedding!

Last night kinda worked out good. The restaurant was packed and we were rushed, which we weren't very happy about BUT it got us out early enough that we could make it to the ballpark (all dressed up) for the final inning. I have a certain phrase I yell out to my boy when he's on the mound and the smile on his face was so awesome to see when he realized we were there. Everyone told us he pitched one of his best games (12 strikeouts) and he got the game ball! This is the Dizzy Dean state championship tournament between JPRD West Bank & JPRD East Bank. Go West Bank!!!!!!:cheer2:

Good morning.

I'm sorry I didn't make it yesterday, but my morning haven't been that great these days. I go for a post-operative check up on Thursday.

Cara, ya'll are really going to enjoy T-Rex. We went there this past February and my kids loved it. The food was really good too. Lots of fun!

Put me on the list of those who love Columbia Harbour too! Best tuna salad sandwich:thumbsup2

YAY!!!! I am glad you all have a time to look forward too.

My home is officially FOR sale-if I could post the link I would- I know you all aren't going to buy it, but just to show you. I am not sure of the Dis rules on that. I just know you cannot sell anything directly. I have the post on FB if you DO know of anyone looking. Funny thing- selling our home is really giving me some more Disney points on my card-so far, about $12 extra-not a lot- but then it IS free money!

Lori

Good luck with the house Lori! Unfortunately I'm not planning on moving ever again (as long as I can help it)! But can you pm me the link? Just in case I run across someone at work...we have alot of clients that are still in apartments.
