Oh,yeah! We love New Orleans. When I was a teenager we used to drive over from Mobile on the weekends. 'Course,my deeply Southern Baptist mother was completely scandalized by the souvenier shops If she knew we were going to get our tea leaves read, she really would have a fit.

Hey y'all!

Just a quick check-in- the last two days have been hectic!

I had a dr appt yesterday and she went over the hospital check-in and pre c-section procedures with me and said "and I'll see you on Wednesday...". Then she did the pelvic exam and said "maybe not...he has dropped really low and you're dilated...". She said it is close, but if I want to try to hold out until Wednesday to go on bedrest- this MAY help, but if wants to come, he wants to come!

So I spent the rest of my day yesterday madly running errands! So much for taking it easy! I'm doing a few loads of laundry today, but that's it- onto the sofa I go! I've had a lot of mild contractions today, so I'm on high alert- I'll keep y'all posted!

Sheryl- LOVE the video! Sienna loved watching it too and made me replay it for her a few times. It seems like you really enjoy having Alexis there- y'all do so many fun things together!

Lori- I had to laugh about the big Texas star on the door! We noticed that too in Houston- Texans are really proud. Make sure you have lots of Fleur de Lis!

Serena- i hope you're having a wonderful, relaxing time!

minkydog- I always tell people to do the tours- there are so many to choose from! Cemetery tours, plantation tours, haunted history tours, etc- but these do require some walking. As far as restaurants go, I love Port of Call, the Gumbo Shop, Napoleon House, Petunia's...and I believe some other's I love have been mentioned also (Cafe Maspero, Deanie's, Mother's). And Criossant Do'r for breakfast pastries if you get Cafe Du Monded out. Have a great time!

I'm going to try my best to hold him off, if I can. I know that sounds crazy- most pregnant women try their hardest to get the baby OUT, but I'm this close to the scheduled c-section that I'm going to try to make it. Since I have to deal with the c-section, I may as well have the benefit of having it scheduled since it is more convenient that way (especially with having a younger child that will be staying with MIL).

I feel like I've frequented every business in town the last few days! My last trip yesterday was big shopping at Whole Foods, and I was so scared that my water would break in there- that would be too embarrassing! But at least DH would have a good excuse to get out of work.

DH has kind of been freaking out with my all of my errand running (and the money I've been spending) but he doesn't understand- the freezer/pantry, diapers, wipes, household goods, pet supplies, etc are so stocked that we won't have to leave the house for a long time! I learned last time with Sienna, when I had nothing prepared, and DH had to do the errand running, that it isn't really his forte'. Lots of things bought that had to get returned, wrong items, wrong sizes, and we ate fast food and takeout almost every day. I really want things to be smooth sailing this time for everyone, well as best as it can be...

This is great news Lorie! For my 35th Birthday my mother sent me the check she used at publix dated the day before I was born for $20.18. My water broke in the middle of that shopping trip. Did she rush home, oh no... she started back at the beginning of the list and bought double everything cause who knew when the next time she would make it to the store...lol Your Whole Foods worry reminded me of that...

Bethany, that is a real pain in the neck! I hope that the post office doesn't mess it up again

Shovan, I hope that I get to meet that Alexis one day.. she is a real cutie!

So today was the last day of school and I am tuckered and happy! The last month was a whirlwind. I am happy for the break but will be happy to go back by the time August gets here

hey gals-checking in before work.

Haley finally had her "I don't wanna move" MELTDOWN last night. I had mine last Saturday and she has been on the edge all week. She sobbed HARD last night talking about all the memories in this house-if she could take the drywall with us, she would. I am at least thankful that she HAS good memories in this house b/c getting her to talk is like getting your dog to speak english. She talked for a couple hours and sobbed then fell asleep with me in my bed-so DH was on the couch. She saw "Up" yesterday with a friend and thought it was a great idea to tie balloons to the house and fly it to Houston. Great.
I am sorta looking forward to some more space, but I have many wonderful memories here too. We had a productive cry last night and I hope today is better and she moves on a little. My baby.

Ashton is just excited at this point, but I think she will have her cry on moving day, after all, she cried when we gave the couch away a few months back, b/c that was the sofa she 'cuddles with her puppies on and it was a sofa like Lizzie McGuires'(it was the exact set as in the shows), and so on. She calls this move an "adventure", of which I am glad, but waiting for her time with tears-b/c whether it be about friends or a dumb old sofa, I know she will get upset at some point.

Happy Sunday- it looks like another gorgeous day!

Oh Lori...I can't imagine. I had an "I don't wanna move" meltdown the other morning and I desperately WANT to be out of here. I am just tired of dealing with all the packing, paperwork, LOST paperwork and re-doing it, etc....I was so ready to throw in the towel. Then I had yet another day from hell at work and changed my mind. It still has not totally sunk in yet...so bizarre really.


Pssst...what happened to the meet planning for July? People were talking about July 11 then that was not working out?

I have something to tell you but I cannot and it is KILLING me. I share more with you at times than my family and even some close friends. All I can say is that I am pretty sure we are going to Houston. I will let you all in on it after June 9th sometime. We are planning to live in Houston......

Pray! My sister is going to the mortgage broker this week to see what ole Obama is offering 1st time home buyers and see if they qualify. I cannot imagine any one else in my house, but I have to accept the idea that this may not go my way. Haley is praying for this too-she doesn't want strangers here. I wish I could afford to just give it to her. We simply cannot mic money and close realtives-been there, done it, got screwed-NEVER doing it again-thankfully it was small and not much of a loss, but enough to have me learn those 2 don't mix unless it is a gift. We really do need to learn more about that thing Sheryl was talking about. I don' want anything messing with my credit.

Lorie- hoping you get to Wednesday and have an uneventful wonderful childbirth via c-section! cannot wait to see Erik!

Lori, I don't know what to say! I can't imagine how hard this must be to try and console Haley when you're feeling so sad.

Wow, I'm impressed you even typed this. When I got home last September I did a cat head count (1, 2, ok both still alive) and CRASHED with a capital "K"! Of course we got up at 7am, did AK in the AM, MK in the PM, stayed for Spectro and Wishes, did some more Fantasyland after Wishes, THEN got in the car at 11:30pm and did the 10 hour drive home. Sheesh, I'm exhausted again just tryping that.

Can't wait to hear all about it.

Actually... I worked today til 4pm, came home and "napped" til after 9pm. heh. oops.

But I didn't get home til almost 8 Saturday night, so I didn't get my normal Saturday evening nap. I had to white-knuckle it until a reasonable bed time. Which turned out to be 10:30. That was after dosing off in front of the DISboards for 2 hours. I know. I know. I'm so bad.

On the rare occassions that I have Sun - Tues off, I'm just horrible. I alternate napping and waking every 3 - 4 hours. I just KNOW I was a cat in a previous life.

I'm still hangin' in there! Barely though- it's been rough!!! I've had constant Braxton Hicks contractions for two days, and my whole body is just sore now- especially my belly. I feel like someone's been whacking me in the belly it's so sore! Two more days!

Today is DH's last day at work, thank goodness. I can put him to work tomorrow! I have one load of laundry to do today and I'm going to attempt to make a lemon bundt cake. I wanted a last treat for us and something to send with DD to MIL's, but I'm thinking I may send DH to Brocato's instead.

Terry- I'm so glad you had a wonderful time! How was the weather- did the rain clear up for you?

Cara- That is so funny about the check and your mother's water breaking in the grocery store. I don't think I would've stayed and shopped more at Whole Foods though if my water broke though, but I can understand why your mother would!

Lori- to you and Haley. And news after June 9th? hmmm...

Bethany- Nothing would surprise me about the post office anymore. The mail service was soooo bad here after Katrina that nothing would shock me really. I would get birthday party invitations in the mail two months after the party, mail that was months old, sometimes mail would just get lost in a black hole never to be seen again- it was a mess. I hope you get it all straightened out- .
