Lori what a special thing Haley did donating her hair. She sure does have beautiful curls. She's such a sweetie.

I'm jumping on the Twlight Train today. I guess you could say the caboose since I'm probably one of the last ones to see it. Kelsie's friend rented it yesterday and they started watching it while I wasn't home. I didn't want to see the movie half over so I just didn't watch it. This morning I noticed it with a note asking me to return it so I popped it in as soon as the kids went to school. I haven't read the book so I really don't have anything to compare it to but I did like it.

If you ever get a chance to read the book, read it. I *Loved* it!

Not so much as the vampire part but for the Romeo-Juliet kind of love story. Once you get past all the teen angst it's really good....and when I read it I pictured them in my head older(I know it's set in high school, but hey, it's my imagination!) but there are times I forget I'm closer to my 20 year reunion than my graduation day.....:rolleyes1

Oh, and hi you guys!:yay::yay::yay:

Hi gang. I spent all day at dd's field day. She won 1st place for long jump, 50 yrd dash, and the relay race. This helped her win the all around trophy for the 4th grade girls! :yay:

hey terry - the movie actually had a lot of comedy as well as some pretty poignant parts that almost made me cry...I did kind of get into the story line at times, so it wasn't as bad as some of the regular shows have become...there is some attempts at "romance" going on...but always boy likes girl, girl likes boy no one can say it, hannah double life gets in the way. etc. hysterical bit with a ferret in one spot and hannah/miley trying to be 2 places at one time...didn't remember any spots I found objectionable (there is one spot where they are swinging off a rope into the creek and the boy had his shirt off...nothing else racy at all. I was surprised...not sure what else you looking for - interested in friday's lagniappe review...:confused3

Thank you; I am sure I will be seeing it soon. :rolleyes1

Good morning NOLA. I'm here!

Have fun!

Thye books kicked the movies butt. I though the movie was sorta cheesy, but I had almost finished the whole series by the time it came out.

I honestly do not see the relationship with Twilight to R&J. A lot of people say that, though.

I am 1 year past that 20 year post reunion status!:rolleyes1

You're doing OK, there is a meet on Monday, this one just kinda popped up last night.;)

Good afternoon NOLA.

Two of my three are dyeing eggs right now. I know I've mentioned it before but here goes again. We dye raw eggs. No one likes the hard boiled variety in this house so we just dye the raw eggs and put them back in the carton. Now when you want scrambled eggs you get to pick a pretty color. Ever since I was a little girl we've always dyed eggs on Good Friday. I'm sort of keeping the tradition going.

I hope you are all having a great Friday. I made the mistake of going to Walmart today. :scared1: Of course all the kids are off and it was like going on a Saturday afternoon and that was at 10:00 this morning.

Lauren,
I am so sorry for your loss.
You and your family are in my thoughts.

Good Morning NOLA.

Lauren how are you doing? Your family are still in my thoughts and prayers.

Happy Easter Saturday. We'll be heading to the inlaws for a crawfish boil today. Mark has such a large family (eight brothers and sisters) that today and Christmas Eve are the only two days that everyone gets together for sure. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of times when most of us are together but never all.

Bethany what have you done so far since visiting NOLA? I hope you are having a great time.

Hi y'all!

Had a great time with Bethany, Cara, Kristina & her adorable daughter Gracie yesterday! BUT like Tricia said the traffic was horrendous.:headache:

Gotta get back out there and get my Easter groceries to start my cook-a-thon.:stir:

Tricia - Have fun at the crawfish boil!

Morning all!

Looking forward to a pretty day.. the weather is so nice.

Egg hunt in on the agenda with 12 little kiddos. Im sure by this evening I am going to wonder what was I thinking!!

Gotta run , need to start getting snacks together for this afternoon.

Where did you Dis ladies have lunch yesterday?

Lauren, I am so sorry for you loss. It breaks my heart when cancer takes a loved one. You have been in my prayers since Kathy posted this about you all.

We are having a big cleanup/gardening day. We have family/friends coming by tomorrow. I am making a ham and we are making it simple by having pistolettes and salad. Others are bringing mac n cheese(a staple 'round here!), but baked, and a WONDERFUL red velvet cake my MIL will bring that she gets from Walmart, of all places.

Easter egg hunt,eggs are stuffed.

Now to get the kids baskets done so that we can go to bed at a decent time. DH is bringing them to the grocery and HD so I can get them done.

For you Stephenie Meyer's fans..... check out her website if you never have before. It has the original book (pdf file) she started for Twilight called Midnight Sun-but it got leaked out so she changed it to Twilight. It is the same story from Edwards persective instead of Bella's. It is just about 250 pages and not the whole thing. I read it a long while back, even before I got Twilight, but recently looked on there again and found some additions to New Moon on there in pdf file. She is really cool about letting us read how she develops her characters. I like that! I guess Midnight Sun would be good for those of you who haven't gotten the books yet and want to see if it is something you'll like.

Lauren - I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. That is so close to home. I'm so sorry especially for their children.

It's not been a great week for me here - but it has not been someone as close to me as sibling. My sister (12 years younger) has had multiple brain surgeries (holes in lining, spinal fluid leaking out) in the past 3-4 years, but is doing ok now after losing 100 pounds.

This week a close friend's father died - which is about a year and a half after her husband died. It has been hard for her. She is an only child too.

Another dear, dear friend of mine lost her oldest son 6 years ago in a tragic backyard accident (electrocution) - his widow (mother of their 3 now teenage children) fell this week and has a major traumatic brain injury. Sort of like Natasha Richardson. She is on life support, but they will most likely be turning it off this weekend. I just feel so sorry for these children that have lost 2 parents to weird in home accidents. And then my friend (mother and mother in law of this tragic couple) just lost her sister-in-law a couple of days after the accident.

Sorry to be such a downer here. In some ways I think it is good that this is happening (if it had to happen at all) just before Easter. All of these families have a very strong faith, and I know that will be of comfort.

My dad has spent the past few days telling me that he is not well enough to go to my aunt's for Easter dinner - where he always enjoys himself. But he is now out gadding about visiting all of the senior centers where his friends live. He just wants me to beg him to go tomorrow.

I'm taking my sister to the airport at 4:15 am tomorrow morning for her trip to Hawaii. She is using free miles and has a friend to stay with so it's almost a free trip. I was hoping to find a very, very early church service to go to afterwards (the kind I never get up early enough to go to on Easter) - but none of them even start until 7:30. I may be back asleep by then!

May you all have a joyous day tomorrow in spite of all that life has thrown at us.
