Metal Loft Beds

My 2 youngest have the Ikea metal bunkbed. I just found a metal Ikea loft bed with desk on Craigslist. I called them and they said it was used for about 3 years adn when asked if it was wobbly, she said yes. I would not pick it up until tomorrow, so I wanted to check if these was how the Ikea loft beds are. Our bunk bed is not wobbly at all.

Thanks everyone for y'all's suggestions.

We have 2 of the IKEA metal loft beds with desk - yes it wobbles a bit and it creaks when the kids move around in it. When I say it wobbles I don't mean it's going to fall apart at any minute - it's just not as sturdy as a solid wooden bed would be I guess.

One more question....

It seems that they are really tall. We have a house built in 1964 with regular height ceilings, about 8 ft high. Anyone know the height of these beds? Or have issues with the height.

Just a little nervous since I will not see the bed put together before I purchase it and the nearest store is 4.5 hrs away.

Thanks again!

My daughter hits her head on the ceiling all the time but my son who is way taller has no problem. My daughter is the kind of kid it takes her forever to be fully awake so that might be why.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and experiences. I asked DS which one he wanted the IKEAS one with a desk or one of the Walmart ones with a desk. He chose the Ikea one. I think it has to do with us already owning an Ikea bunk bed.

I picked up the Ikea one for $80 on Craigslist. It is in great shape. I am very happy.

Thanks again!

I just got one for DD9 for FREE from Craigslist! I picked it up last night - haven't put it together yet, but I think it will work well in DD's room. I love her bed now (old family bed, in the family for YEARS) but her new room is just too small for all of her stuff.
