Today I was able to have lunch with one of the long time DIS'er here, Micca. He is in town for the weekend-long 2004 BeatleFest, an annual event of long standing, being held at one of the big O'Hare area hotels. He let me know he was coming to Chicago and we made a point of getting together for lunch (DIS sure does bring people together)
While we were eating, several people sat down at the table next to us for a quick bite. After they left, Micca asked me if I knew who the older gentleman was in the group. I had no idea. He told me it was the photographer of many early Beatle albums and other items, among them....
Meet The Beatles
and Rubber Soul
both pretty well known to many. I thought that was kind of neat.
We were able to spend a couple hours, enjoying lunch, talking about anything and everything (a bit of Disney stuff too). His DD, Aly, has been a CM at WDW, and I had met her, both on Main Street, as a merchandiseer, as well as when she acting like she 'really knew' Alice in Wonderland, that time with several others from the DIS.
It is indeed a small world, made smaller by the Net and places like the DIS. Thanks for sharing part of your day, Micca.
And thank you to the DIS, for bringing people togehter.
