Message about magic bands?

We travel on Thursday and check into AKV on Friday. I received the following message both by email and in MDE:

"Good news––your MagicBand package will be waiting for you at your Disney Resort hotel! Simply pick it up at the front desk when you arrive."

We received our magic bands weeks ago. Could this be because our WL came through and our resort changed? I will let them know when we check-in that we have bands and make sure that they are properly linked, just curious why I might have gotten this message.

Yes. A new reservation generates a new magic band order. Both sets of bands will work. You're welcome to decline the gray ones waiting for you at checkin.

Disney can fill a spaceship earth with all the extra generic grey MagicBands that get created and sent to resorts which people don't need.
