I did search for a Merry Mixer thread but did not find one that was current. We are able to go to the Dec. 16 event. Do you need tickets or do you just show up? How much time should I allow and are there any tips (go early, go late, bring ear plugs, etc.)

Just show up. Line can be long to get in. Moves fast. Character lines get cut off early since they are usually long. One ornament per family. Have your DVC card ready because they check it before you walk in.

If you don't care about characters and just want the ornament and cookies, go later.

Who are the characters usually?

Make sure you bring your Member Card & some ID. I'd allow about an hour - less if you don't get into any lines for characters. Mickey & Minnie are usually there with two others. Believe Goody & Pluto have been as well as Daisy & Donald, and Chip 'n Dale

I believe we arrived closer to 4pm last year (party started at 3pm, I think) and there was still a line to get in, but it moved quickly. There was at least one other character station, in addition to Mickey and Minnie, maybe two. We picked Mickey and Minnie and that's all that we had time for. I think the other ones may have rotated. I think I remember seeing Lilo and Stitch and Donald and Daisy. There was a long line to see the DVC merchandise, so I skipped that. Everyone got a "fancy" decorated cookie. They also had drinks and I don't remember what else. The emcee seemed to be doing a nice job playing Simon Says with the audience which people seemed to be enjoying (we were still in line for Mickey and Minnie). I'm glad that we went once, mostly for the photo of M&M in their holiday attire, but I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to do it again.

Do they have dedicated photographers for the characters (for memory maker photo pass purposes)?
