Two years ago we happened to be in WDW at the same time as some friends. I called member services to see who was allowed to go to the MMM, and we were told we could take guests with us. I told them that they were 2 adults and 5 kids, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. They went, and they didn't have a problem getting in with us. They ALL got ornaments, even when I told the people they weren't members and just my guests.
That is great, good for you, i just hope they didnt run out of ornaments by the last night because when we were there right at 3pm they were only handing out 1 per family because they were afraid they were going to be short. I didnt stay around until 5pm to find out if they were short or not. Last year again attended the last night and didnt even get one.
I was just sharing what our experience was. We didn't take them expecting to get a lot of ornaments. We didn't know what was even in the little pouch. When we found out, they said they didn't need that many, and the CMs said that they could keep them. My friend gave me the ornaments, and I was going to give them away on here. I misplaced them until a few months ago. I then did give them away to members on the podcast board. I didn't try to do anything dishonest. We were very upfront that our friends were not members. I'm just sharing what our experience was.

That's interesting that you didn't get one. We went to the Doorway to Dreams (I think that's what it is called) in Chicago. They gave us a goodie bag for stopping by, and in the bag was the 2007 ornament that we were not able to get because we didn't visit at the right time. This was in June of this year when we got it. I'm sure to a lot of people that ornament wouldn't be anything great, but I was excited to get it.

Thank you for letting know how it worked out for you ! I read the rules that WDWStar posted and looked on the website but didn't see anything about who could come.
I'm not bringing them all to get ornaments, I'd be bringing them cuz they are my family and we are spending that day together and will probably eat at BC and end our meal with the kitchen sink. I guess it depends on what kind of snacks are at the party. If they do get ornaments and don't want them, then I'll post that I have a few extra.
I haven't made it to a party before so this will be fun !

And that is exactly why I took my friends. It was probably the most memorable moment for them. It wasn't the cookies, because we really didn't have any. It was the characters and dancing. Her kids had a blast! They loved the characters. There were no lines. In fact, most of the kids were over doing crafts. Have fun! It is possible that they have changed the rules. So, maybe call member services.

We still have not gotten in the system, so no "Merry Mixer" this trip. We were told we could not get a temoprary card unless we were in the system, and that we may not be in untill the 2nd week in Dec.

Go to the DVC offices at SSR during your trip - they can print up your card for you. So long as you've put down a deposit there's no reason they can't.
