Question about the Merry Member Mixer for those who have been there. Is it come/go as you please, or do you need to be there right at 3PM? We're flying in the day of a merry mixer. Our current flight lands at 2:20PM, we'll take ME to BWV and I figure at 'best' we could be at Epcot by 4PM.

Thanks!

We went last year. Somebody (I believe Drusba, but not positive) suggested going late rather than early. Probably the best advice I received on these boards. We walked by before the start and the line was so ridiculously long I never would have stayed. We walked by the hundreds (literally) of people and went to France for some food. Went back later and walked right in with only one couple in front of us - ironically we were right behind the poor people that stood in line for well over an hour.

We showed up around 4 this past year, and spent around 15 minutes there. We had to rush because we had the early CP seating.

Last time I went, I was there before the opening. The line was about a block long. I returned about a half hour later and walked right in. The event is "continuous" and thus there is no advantage in getting in the moment it starts.

Can someone tell me about the mixer?! This will be our first year going during that time! Exciting!

Thanks everyone! Good to know that it's continuous. I ended up changing our Southwest flights anyway--I wasn't happy with the times either direction. Now we're flying out of a different airport (45 minutes farther away) the day before and saving a little money. Now I won't need to worry about how long it will take us to get from MCO to the Boardwalk, especially as my Dad will need to activate his ticket that day.

They had games going on for the kids when we walked in the room. Tables are set around the room. Your family gets tickets for a free drink and cookie (the cookies were individually wrapped and tasted pretty good). You get raffle tickets for prizes and when you leave you get 1 ornament per family. The ornament was really cute and is dated with the year. We only stayed about 15 minutes. We took the cookies back to the room for the next day. I mainly wanted to go to get the ornament. I will definitely stop by again if I go during the dates.

If you know other Disboard members are going to be there, it's a great place to hold a meet. We've met some nice folks there over the years!

They had several characters for pictures. The lines were typical for characters in the parks. They had a craft for younger children, had game with the DJ going, and also had special DVC merchandise for sale.
