Not including the handmade candy canes (which you have to time right to experience anyways), what other holiday treats should I be expecting this year?

Ooooohhh...good question! I was wondering the same thing! Other than the candy canes, I know they always have those adorable gingerbread men with Mickey ears and peppermint fudge and peppermint mocha, but I am sure they will have something new for this season and I can't wait to hear what it is (or better yet, see pictures of the treats!)!!! Maybe they will have special holiday caramel apples in Pooh's Corner?

Don't they also have actual entrees as seasonal specials? Or am I misinformed?...

I think you may be right. I seem to vaguely recall reading somewhere that there are some special dishes at certain restaurants for the holiday season, but I am not sure which restaurants they are. Hopefully, someone will know the answer to that and post soon!

Ooooh I'd love to hear about any menu additions during the Holiday Season!
I hope someone posts soon!

I don't have a picture, but there is a special caramel apple at Pooh Corner and on Main Street that I saw on the day after Halloween this year. It is a snowman candy apple which is achieved by placing a marshmallow head on top of the apple and covering the whole thing in white chocolate. The other cute touch is that they each have a little scarf that appears to be made out of a flat sour candy strip that comes in different colors/flavors.

My guess is that there'll be various amounts of holiday treats all around the park, but as for specific menus... I'm curious about that as well :)

Just a forewarning, this is going to be a very long post.

There may be some items still available, but probably not the entire selection, since they'll want to start transitioning back to the normal menus, particularly with the new food offerings for the "What Will You Celebrate?" promotion.

here's one from the disney's website a couple more on the site along with the history of the candy cane

My ultimate fave is the caramel apple cider! I always get it when I'm there, especially during the cold nights.

Ooooohh!!! I am not even the biggest caramel apple fan, but that sounds adorable! I didn't get over to Pooh's Corner to see any of the Halloween apples, but I saw some picures posted here on the dining thread, I think, and those were so cute. LOVED that Mickey pumpkin apple. So even if I just LOOK at the snowman apple, I will be content!!

Thank you for that great list! I am going to print it out and take it with me so I can head straight towards the treats! I don't think I saw the peppermint and pumpkin fudge on there (maybe it is there and I just missed it?), but I have seen the fudge at both Marceline's in DTD and in the Candy Palace (is that what it is called?) on Main Street. Hopefully they are selling it again this year.

Also, those gingerbread cookies with Mickey ears can be found at those candy places, too, usually. I was surprised to see them there, as I expect them in bakeries only, but last year, they were definitely in the candy shops as well.

Marceline's tends to sell holiday cupcakes, so that could be an option.

I am excited to see they are selling peppermint ice cream somewhere in DLR! Yay! I cannot remember the last time I ate peppermint ice cream, but I LOVE it. It brings back fond memories for me!:santa:

Those are precious! A peppermint apple!!! I love that cute snowman apple with the extra small head and Mickey ears! That is too clever!!! This is exactly what I wanted to see - pictures of the stuff that is there in DLR this year, specifically, because I think they add things each year and change it up a little!:santa:

I am glad to see that you know that there will be peppermint ice cream at DLR, Sherry. They are selling Dreyer's in our local Albertson's now but I am sure it is not nearly as good as eating peppermint ice cream in Disneyland!

Thanks for making some holiday magic for the Dis'ers, glendalais! pixiedust:

Dreyer's is probably in my local Ralphs and Vons now (haven't looked yet), and I have had theirs before (can't recall when, but I have). It is good, but as you say, it would probably taste better in Disneyland! For some reason, I always enjoy peppermint ice cream away from home, when I am out somewhere with people. Somehow, it isn't the same if I eat it at home!:santa:

Oooohhh yay!!! I was thinking about caramel apple cider this morning! And how I would love it at Disneyland because it's very holiday-ish to me! OMG. Yay! This made my day. :)

Dreyers Peppermint ice cream is super yum!! :) It's my fave, I always buy some. :)

Ok, the peppermint mocha, the pumpkin spice latte, the caramel apple cider...those are going on my wish list.....I sooooo hope they have those when we are there in Jan!! :) And that apple is too cute!! :)

In fact, I wonder if the peppermint ice cream being served at DLR this year IS Dreyer's? I know that DLR is ending its partnership with the Nestle family of products soon, but they haven't ended it yet. There were Dreyer's and Nestle logos all over the place when we went in October. And isn't Dreyer's part of the Nestle family? Something to ponder...

Between this list of holiday treats to scout out AND finding the "700 elaborately decorated Christmas trees" that are now scattered around DLR, I will be a busy girl when I finally get there! I guess finding all 700 trees is a good way to work off/walk off some of those treats! Stuff my face, find a tree, eat another treat, find another tree, drink a peppermint mocha, find tree #652.... and so on...:santa:
