We're on our first trip "home." We had 2 wonderful nights at the BWV (AK, MGM and Epcot w/CP and Le Cellier all in one night.) We checked-in today to VB where we will be joined by wife's sister and her family tomorrow. Had a slight problem at check-in. We had a very low rate through Disney Club. Were at first charged a higher rate and when I questioned it, I was told I couldn't possibly have the rate I said I had. I went and got my confirmation and after some delay was given the rate. However, from that point on, I was treated extremely rudely by the man checking us in. I did voice my complaint to the Manager and she was very prefessional and apolgized for the way I was made to feel. I have noticed several maitenance problems (door knobs missing, paint needed, walls dented.) Still, plan to have a great time. Saw Santa in the lobby and heading to see Mrs. Claus for storytime and milk and cookies in a few minutes. So, Merry Christmas and good night to all.

UGH!! I remember your rate, it was really excellent!! I wonder why the CM checking you in took the liberty to try & charge you more!! I'd really complain even more loudly once I got home!!!

Well, sounds like the BW visit went great & it sounds like you're set to have a nice Vero vacation, regardless how it started!!!

Good luck & Merry Christmas!!

Vero is decorated quite nicely. I saw it twice when I was in FL before/after my cruise Dec 1st-9th. Have a great trip and Merry Christmas!

Have a great trip and a Merry Christmas!

We're leaving today for the HRH but had a very nice stay at Vero despite the weather turning chilly. Kids' activities were great. The problem at check-in did, however, dampened the trip for awhile. On Christmas day, I discovered that the envelope which contained our confirmation was missing. It could only have been lost between the front desk and our room. The problem was though that it conatined 8 Universal 3-day passes. My wife swears that I must have left it at the front desk when I checked-in and that the man who checked us in threw it away in retaliation for our complaint about him. While I do not think he would have been that malicious, there is a part of me that feels that if I had never been required to go get it out of my laptop case to prove I was entitled to the rate CRO had given me, I'd still have it. Nevertheless, it was my fault it was lost and Universal has been great. Thanks to these boards, I had my secretary copy the backs of the tickets and Universal has indicated they will replace the tickets. Even if I had not done so, Universal had said that the wosrt that would happen is that they would charge me 1/2 price for replacement tickets based on my word alone. By the way, the Vero sales office is hutting down next week at which time the Beach Cottage used as a model will be made avaialbel to members.I

WOW! Thank goodness Universal is being so understanding! (I don't think Disney would ever take someones word about having a pass).... Anyways, it's great that you copied the numbers down & you're all set anyways.

Interesting news about shutting down the Vero DVC office, it's not sold out yet, why would they close it?

Well, glad to hear things are still going relatively smoothly, Have fun at Universal!!!
