Anybody have the 411 on this? I'm interested in booking, but would like to know more.

Booking starts 9/16 and "More info will be released at that time" ~ guess it's too much to ask that they release info about the event BEFORE you book it so that you actually know what you're booking and paying for.

Merry & Bright Dessert Party is " a reserved viewing location overlooking the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights with holiday themed desserts "

No price or any other details have been given yet except that booking will begin 9/16 and it will be available most nights from 11/6 through 12/30

Thank you! I knew last year they had a Frozen Dessert party for the OL's and I had asked a CM about it in one of my calls, but they thought I meant the summer frozen fun and I got nowhere. My concern now is I booked the Minnie's Holiday and Dine F! For 4:15 Dec 24th thinking Fantasmic would be 8:30 and we could go see the lights when they lit at 6pm or if they added a dessert party we would have space for it. But I have heard now that they schedule two F! On that day and for the dining package we will have to go to the earlier one. Does anyone know if they always have two on Dec 24th? I would like to do the Dessert Party too.

You're welcome!

Good luck with your planning and I hope you have a fabulous time. :wizard:

My main frustration with Disney right now is that they ask you to lock in dining at 6 months, rides at 2 months and then they add all these things after the fact and with VERY little info ~ how in the world are you supposed to change things to accommodate their last minute additions?!?! It would be SO nice if they would release everything, park hours, show times, extra events, etc. at least 6 1/2 months out so that you had time to plan and book accordingly.

OK, vent over. ;)

Lol, I understand your vent! At 180 days I made my ADR's based on what was scheduled then. Then they added the Wishes Dessert Party, which we did before in 2011. I booked that since my parents are with us this trip, thinking being able to sit down out of the crowds would be better for them. A few weeks later they suddenly changed the time of the fireworks and dessert party. So, I had to scramble and dump my ADR at Chef Mickey's at 5:15 because I did not think we could get back for 7pm Wishes Dessert in time from CR and we would be too full to eat desserts! luckily, I was able to snag a 4:05 for 1900 Park Fare to give us and our bellies some breathing room. But any changes they make now can really mess up ADR's as most things Christmas week are now fully booked. Example, I did a search for Christmas day of MK TS and there is no availability for six people at ANY restaurant at ANY hour that day!

Reading the comment replies on the Disney blog, it appears there will be "holiday-themed desserts, specialty beverages and a themed amenity". If it's roughly 70 dollars or less, I'm in. If it's over 80, I'm out.

Exactly!!

I've just really had to rely on my Disney Mantra to get me through and I try and make sure everyone who I help plan a Disney trip does the same ...

"Focus on what you're getting to do and try not to think about anything you're missing!" ~ since there's no way to do it all, especially once you've made plans and Disney adds / changes things!

Does anyone know when the reservations open for the Osborne dessert party who we call? Dining? Other?

I hear ya, my planning has gone into overdrive. I missed out on the Minnie's Holiday Dinner, because I already had my ADR's booked and wasn't really looking anymore. Now I feel like I have to get tickets for the Merry & Bright Dessert Party.

They don't need to release information before people book it! I don't know if you're familiar with the "Premium Package" for the Food & Wine Festival but people were falling all over themselves to book that (at $199 pp) and no one even knew what it was this year!

It is now listed on the dining reservations page, but you can't click on it for more information. At 6 am though, you should be able to read about it as you book it.
