Merchandise Problem

We visited MK back and Dec. and made some purchases that were not needed until recently. While unpacking said purchases, an Eyore PJ bag, we found that the CM had not removed the ink capsule that is fastened to the product. Our quandry is "How do we get this thing off?" Anyone got any suggestions?

What about your local Disney Store or for that matter any other clothing store? If you brought your receipt with you as evidence you bought it, maybe they could remove it.

And if you don't live near a Disney store...

Call WDW merchandising...they may offer to ship you an "exchange".


Worst Case Senario:
I have heard that you can freeze these (so ink won't explode) and then carefully remove the tag while protecting the garmet with a plastic bag. I have never had to do this myself.

This same thing happened to my mother a few years ago. She bought a tote bag as a gift for my aunt. When she took it out of the suitcase, she realized the plastic tag was still on it. We went to The Disney Store, but they told us that these tags wouldn't fit in their machine, as their sensors were different. Instead, they told us to take it to JCPenney's, which we did. They looked closely at our receipt, but then had no problem removing it. As long as you kept the receipt, you shouldn't have a problem. Worst case scenario, though, I would do as renessa advised - call the WDW Merchandise number. I'm sure this isn't a very rare occurance! Good luck!

We did in deed get in touch with Disney Merchandising. The gave us a Return Authorization Code and addres to which we will return it. They in turn will remove the tag, and ship it back along with a shipping refund.
