mercado shopping center

Has anyone ever shopped here? Or done the Titanic attraction? Also how far is this shopping center from the Homewood suites on I-Drive? Is it walkable? And if so a safe walk? Any info would be appreciated.

Hi! We were in Orlando in October last year and we went to The Mercado as we remebered it as being vibrant and with interesting shops and restaurants from when we were on honeymoon in '88. What a disappointment! The place was empty and a little shabby and after a quick look round we left and never went back. Similarly we found Pointe Orlando and Festival Bay to have very few shops although they were newer and cleaner.
