With the speculation going around about the DDP dropping dessert from the benefits next year my family is looking for TS options that include dessert. We don't want buffets. We want to sit and have a nice dining experience that doesn't include buffet food!

We know Ohanas family style meal includes dessert as does the LTT. I think Chefs de France has a special meal deal that includes appy, meal, and dessert (for one dining credit) too. Other than that I only know of Garden Grill and we've eaten there twice already. We're ready for something new.:rolleyes1

Does anyone know anywhere else that is "family style" with dessert or a restraunt that does like Chefs de France letting you order a 3 tier meal for one credit? We're hoping to find a good list of places we can still have dessert if they do change the DDP. If not, we might not get the DDP next trip. Help me out!

Taking dessert away from my family at Disney is like throwing a bloody fish to a shark! Things are gonna get nasty!:lmao:

I think Le Cellier has a deal like that, but I'm not sure if it is still on the menu. Kona Cafe at the Polynesian has a three-course prix-fixe meal on its dinner menu only.

Le Cellier did have a 3-course menu when I went last. Akershus in Norway also includes dessert in the price of the meal.

Chefs de France has the same type of offerings. But I wouldn't worry too much. These types of rumors float here every year. They're actually starting a little earlier this year as OP thread is the first I've seen this year. We will also see the threads about the restaurants no longer participating in DDP.

I would suspect that like most things restaurant menus are "subject to change"; therefore, what is available today may not be available 6 months from now.

So, I think you may just have to wait and see what happens to the DDP and also to the restaurant menus as we get to the later part of this year before you make your decision.

I don't normally eat desserts, but when on the DDP WILL eat it. It just kills me though to base the gratuity on the outrageously priced dessert. It almost makes me not want to get it because I'm usually pretty full before it even arrives! LOL.

Actually, there is a long thread on the DDP boards that explains the basis of this rumor.

However, OP, we won't know anything most likely until about August. It also would not be guaranteed that any menu will still be the same at the time of the trip or that the special menu sections will be allowed for those on the dining plan at all.

I know menus are subject to change. Heck, EVERYTHING is subject to change when it comes to Disney!:lmao: Just wanting some good starting points for dessert places. Thanks for all the great suggestions!

There's no guarantee that if the dining plan does drop desserts, the restaurants that offer a special fixed price three-course menu for basic dining will continue to offer it. Until we know more you should probably concentrate on the family style and the fixed price restaurants (the whole restaurant charges one price to eat there but you select off a menu - like CRT or Akershus)
