Wow, I never knew it would be so hard to pick out dishes for the menu tasting! I have a couple of questions:

1) did anyone just put something like "chef's choice tuna entree" on their tasting request? We know we want to try to the filet from Jiko, but beyond that we were wanting to do either a tuna or scallop entree, but we couldn't find one on the menu, so I thought maybe the chef could just come up with something. If that asking too much?

2) We wanted to try a couple desserts for the dessert party. Does it matter that our tasting is at the Epcot kitchen, but our dessert party is at the Grand Floridian?

3) Has anyone had a flambe action station for their dessert party? We were interested in one...maybe the banana one.

Thanks for the help!!

I think that's a good idea, and the chef will probably be pleased to be allowed some creative freedom.

I think it kinda does. I mean, even though the menus are supposed to be global and GF can try to approximate something you tasted in the Epcot kitchen, it really might not taste the same. For example, the chocolate peanut butter marshmallow squares we had at our anniversary in Epcot were nowhere near as good as the ones I had in Hollywood Studios at a Fantasmic! party a few months later.

Hey,

We just got back from our planning and menu tasting. I wanted to give you a heads up though, depending on what you have on your list you may not be able to taste everything. We had three things that they couldn't make due to season and availability so we weren't able to try them. We had wanted to try the Prime Rib that was at Boma's, the martini action station for potatoes, and a rice pilaf. However all the food we tasted was absolutely delicious! Plus we were talking about deserts and our chef got the head pastry chef to come over and talk to us about different options.

However having the tasting in the EPCOT kitchen was absolutely wonderful! With Food and Wine going on the kitchen was extremely busy but the chefs were very attentive and even gave us some background and history of the kitchen (My fiance is a history type of person).

You will have a great time :yay:
