okay I have a weird question.

I can't have milk ( or anything with Milk products) - Last year I successfuly avoided this by eating Kosher meals ( Kosher law says you can't mix milk with meat.)

This year my husband would like me to try regular meals, But lets say its a chicken with cream sauce . Can I ask my server to not have the sauce?

Should i call DCL and note it on my reservation??

Thanks in advance
Cheryl

I would call DCL and ask their suggestion. You are certainly not the first to travel with dietary restrictions. Maybe they will be able to note it on your reservation.

Given the amount of meals that are being served at one time, I don't know how much customizing they can do. There are usually about 5 choices of entrees for dinner. I'm sure that at least one of those would not have dairy and if not you could always go for the grilled chicken or steak.

Just before our cruise we found out that my daughter could not have anything
with gluten in it. We called DCL to find out what we should do. They noted it
in our reservation and told our Head Server. However, they also mentioned that
we should make sure to tell our servers.

We did this and they went out of their way to make sure that her needs were
met. They would check with the kitchen on anything that was questionable,
they would make suggestions, and could even have special food prepared -
although sometimes advance notice was required. Each night they would have
special bread that was made for my daughter. Also, they would see if she
wanted something special for breakfast the next morning such as gluten-free
pancakes or french toast.

We felt that DCL and our servers did an excellent job of working with special
dietary needs. I would encourage you to let them know ahead of time and
talk with your servers about this. I think that you will enjoy your meals
much more than if you just pick those things that you think are okay.

Good luck and enjoy!!

You have done the right thing first by letting them know. I was on the April 23 Magic Western cruise and I took the galley tour (I am in charge of the restaurant food safety program for Virginia so it was of particular interest to me). The executive chef pointed out a posting they have of passengers with food allergies. These passengers also notified them before hand. However, like someone said, always remind your server!
