Mentally Preparing: A Focker, A Croc & Waldo hit POFQ! Trip Report Link is UP!

Let's hope we get this finalized today. I mean, we are like a little over 9 weeks away! :rotfl:

Barely enough time!! :rotfl2:

Seriously, I hope you get it worked out. That was one of the reasons I really didn't want to fly out of Boston - airport parking! AAAACCK!!:scared1: I was just glad we weren't renting a car once in FL, so that the booster seats would have had to go with. What a pain. :sad1:

TO STROLLER OR NOT TO STROLLER:

I'm so confuzzled about the stroller situation. Of couse Evan will be in his stroller, but I'm not sure about Maddie. Last year I bought her a little cheapy $20 stroller and while she was comfortable enough, it was horrible to have to push her in that thing. The handles were so low that mine and Andy's back were killing us. We'd have to be slightly bent over trying to manuver this thing. Mind you I'm 5'9" and he's a little under 6 feet. Then the foot rest for Maddie was so flimsy, whenever she put her feet toward the outter part, the foot rest would drag on the wheels causing slow down. Not good. :sad2:

This is where I was on the boys, too. Renting seemed ridiculous when you could buy cheapos for just $2 more than a double for a day, but I'm 5'9" also and have always hated the umbrella strollers for the handle height. And, my boys are both over 40 pounds, so I was worried about the dragging feet and rear ends as well. I feel your pain! ;) (Really!)

saffronvolo.jpg

She wanted the Salmon one, but since Evan will get it when his red Mac Triump hits the dirt, we opted for a gender neutral color. :thumbsup2

Nice! :thumbsup2 At least you know that Evan will use it too - that might have made a difference in my final decision to go without...

:offtopic:
Just thought I share with you what we've been doing lately. We finally got some decent weather this weekend and we opened our pool for the season. :woohoo: It's just an above ground pool, a mere 3 1/2 feet deep, but it serves it's purpose. The water was still too cold for me and Evan, but Maddie's a mermaid and would swim in it even if there were ice cubes floating on top! It was really warm yesterday (high 80's) and I finally took the plunge taking Evan in with me. Big mistake! I couldn't get those kids out of the pool for anything. Not the promise of cookies, soda, ice cream.. nothing. The sun started to go behind the trees when they finally got out. Both could barely keep their eyes open during dinner and knocked out super early. I love summer! :beach:

Oh, I'm so jealous. :sad2: It had been super hot here before we left - highs in the 90's and no central AC, so we were dying. We hadn't put in the window units yet because it was May for goodness' sake! ;) We got home and it's been nearly all rain and cool. I'm looking at my little desktop weather thing right now and it's 58. 58. Sigh. My farmer parents are pleading for rain in IL, I know the Southeast is droughty (is that a word?) and here I sit wishing for sun! I love summer too, but it's sure not summer today! ;)

Tracey, Where did you find a Mac for $90? We (DH actually) has the same problem with the umbrella strollers being 2 short for him. We were looking at a Mac to take and figured it's good up to 50 lbs, so we'd be in good shapoe for a couple of years, even though DS doesn't use the stroller much anymore, except when we are at Disney.

I am glad I don't have to try and plan for 9 people:scared1: I am only planning for 3 and I am pulling my hair out.

Janet

So do you think Donald will be OK if you all go in the Limo without him :rotfl: And Private Jets hey didn't realise I was mixing with a millionaire :) I'm so pleased we are well and truly over the stroller days!

Let's hope we get this finalized today. I mean, we are like a little over 9 weeks away! :rotfl:
Which is really only like 6-7 weeks :scared1: :rotfl2:
I present you with Maddie's WDW wheels.

LOVE IT!!!! I wanted my Mac so badly I wasn't willing to wait for one to be shipped and bought whatever they had in stock at Babie r Us....black. Just black. Booooorring.
I can't tell - is it a Volo or Trimumph?
The sun started to go behind the trees when they finally got out. Both could barely keep their eyes open during dinner and knocked out super early. I love summer! :beach:
::yes:: Same here! :woohoo:

Mine are bored and driving me CRAZY!

I keep telling them that they are going to start their school year early if they keep it up...but then, that's just more work for me. I was hoping for a break.

What a hassle in getting to the airport. Think anyone would pick you guys up if you stood on the side of the road with all your luggage and stuck out your thumbs?:lmao: I think if you don't get an answer from Donald soon, you should just book your limo for 6 and let him figure it out on his own. You've given him plenty of time.

I am a bit behind on this thread.
I loved your mini-TR from your Disneyland birthday! What a great day! Your DD is absolutely beautiful in her Sleeping Beauty gown. And you look mahvelous darling in your cowboy hat. I like it!:thumbsup2 BTW-Happy Belated Birthday!:flower3:
I love that stroller you bought. I am looking for one for DD when we go to DL and for our WDW trip next year. The stroller I have is nice but it is too bulky and I will be traveling alone with DD and need something I can use in the airport and at the parks. Which Mac is the one you got? Does it fold umbrella style?

I cannot wait to read more of your pretrippie adventures!popcorn::

You guys are really lucky to be home with your kids for the vacation. I am sitting here working and my poor kids are stuck at home with their great grandparents.. :guilty:

Barely enough time!! :rotfl2:
I know! :lmao:

No central AC! :faint: And now it's 58? In June? Yickes!

Holy Crap! I better get busy shopping and packing.
You mean you haven't???? OMG!! I had to hit Dollar tree for more ziplocs to finish packing the kiddos! :lmao:
Tracey, Where did you find a Mac for $90?
The Mac I got was $109 and with my 15% off coupon it was $93 and that was at BabiesRUs. :thumbsup2

I am glad I don't have to try and plan for 9 people:scared1: I am only planning for 3 and I am pulling my hair out.
I will never do this again! :headache:

So do you think Donald will be OK if you all go in the Limo without him :rotfl:
I know he'll pout, but oh well! :rolleyes1

And Private Jets hey didn't realise I was mixing with a millionaire :)
Not me, my older brother. We just tag along with him and pretend we're high society. One time, we were walking down the hall before we boarded the jet and this lady with a puppy in her arms walked right by us and said "Hello". My mom said Hi back and I just  . You know who it was? Oprah! :lmao:

Which is really only like 6-7 weeks :scared1: :rotfl2:
Ahhhh, yes FDM!

I can't tell - is it a Volo or Trimumph?
Ah, but the black hides the dirt marks! It's a Volo in Saffron. Notice the names are all food? Salmon, Saffron, Chili....:lmao:

::yes:: Same here! :woohoo:[/QUOTE]

Don't go to San Dimas.... unless you've got a hankering for a shank!
There's another waterpark in Irvine, which is about 15 mins. south of Disneyland called Wild Rivers. That one's alot safer and cleaner, IMO. :)
What exactly is "hankering for a shank"? I'm a bit bummed about whatever it may be because it's like right near my grandma's home. I just said that as if I'm going to be there soon. Well, I never know....:confused3

TO STROLLER OR NOT TO STROLLER:
Good thing you thought again about having another baby. Having 3 puts you in a whole 'nuther category when the stroller dilemna comes up. We are taking Brooke's cheapy umbrella stroller mainly for the airport and transporting her from resort, etc. We plan on renting a double stroller for all 7 days. The kids will have to take turns riding in it. I will be glad when stroller days are done but I've still got some years to go!

:offtopic:
Just thought I share with you what we've been doing lately. We finally got some decent weather this weekend and we opened our pool for the season. :woohoo: I love summer! :beach:
I love summer too! I live for it and am depressed all winter long. My Disney planning and DISboards got me throught his past winter. Enjoy your pool!

Shhhh!!! Don't tell Evan, but Waldo and Enabler are buying this for his birthday! :ssst:
Is this the one that you can buy The Poly, The GF and Cont. buildings?
Thats the one. You can even buy the castle,Epcot ball etc, along with a number of rides. Alot of that stuff is retired but you can get it on ebay(thats where we got alot of accessories).
Evan will LOVE IT!!!

NOTE: This installment is dedicated to all modes of transportation.

We still haven't figured out how in heck we're getting to the airport. I'm having a huge problem finding a car service that can transport 10 people and 13 or so pieces of luggage. :scratchin: I've done the limos .com thing and haven't gotten much of a bite there. I even called my TA to see if she had any leads.

The Ducks are he!! bent on using a limo service and I'm open to any mode as long as I don't have to drive and worry about airport parking. I'd take a pack mule at this point!

I called a few shuttle services and got some decent rates. And I called a limo company that could accomodate us, but not our luggage. I may have mentioned before, but the Ducks said Daisy's dad could follow the limo with the luggage. It's been back and forth with The Ducks and Daisy's dad. Donald is afraid to depend on Daisy's dad and not really ready to commit him to the project, if you will. I'm getting impatient, so we (my family and the Waldos) decided to go shuttle and the Ducks would have Daisy's dad drop them off. Donald was pouting because he really wants to go in style via limo. I don't know why. :confused3 We've done the airport limo thing, and the private jet thing several times, so it's not like we've never traveled in style before. But that's Donald!

I remembered the quote I received from the shuttle service didn't include the costs of carseat rentals and since we are not using carseats on the plane, I would need the shuttle service to provide them. Well, it's a good thing I called the shuttle service back. They do not provide carseat rentals and will not store your carseats for your return trip. Well, I'm not lugging 2 carseats around LAX just to save $20. Yup. 20 bucks. That's the difference in limo v. shuttle rates. So, the shuttle is out. The limo is back in. Now which limo?

Ok, so now it's down to choice A) limo for 10 - Daisy's dad to follow with luggage. ($336) B) limo for 6 ($250) & the Ducks have Daisy's dad take them to the airport. I emailed Donald this morning to get off his tail feathers and decide what they're going to do.:lmao:

Let's hope we get this finalized today. I mean, we are like a little over 9 weeks away! :rotfl:

Then the foot rest for Maddie was so flimsy, whenever she put her feet toward the outter part, the foot rest would drag on the wheels causing slow down. Not good. :sad2:

Now Maddie is a tiny thing. Well, compared to Evan she is. There's no way she's going to be able to keep up with us and in that August heat, I really don't want her trying. So what do we do? Do we rent a stroller or buy another Maclaren? We figure it's going to cost around $90 to rent a stroller for only park use. Well, I can get a Mac for $20 more and have airport use and resort use. And lookie here, I've got a 15% off coupon! Now to find that lime green Mac that V's friend scored.
Let me tell you, I've hunted high and low for that lime stroller. It's sold out everywhere. I really wanted to take advantage of the 15% off coupon so I had to opt for another color. I present you with Maddie's WDW wheels.

She wanted the Salmon one, but since Evan will get it when his red Mac Triump hits the dirt, we opted for a gender neutral color. :thumbsup2 Ok, so stroller situation is handled. Let's hope we can put the limo thing to bed today as well.

I like the looks of the stroller...what's the weight limit? We still rent one for Michael and trust me...he gets our money's worth out of it. Even at the age of almost-6. Might not be a bad idea for me to buy one...between August and January it's a lot of money for rental, even with our DVC discount:sad2:

I hope you get the limo thing straightened out. Why can't a company just send 2 vehicles? Sounds easy enough to me:confused3

Glad you got the pool opened up...we use ours a lot. It's just one of those 3' soft pools but it's great to have...just high enough for us to sit in and relax...Oh yeah, and Michael loves it too! It's going to be in the 90's here starting like Sunday or Monday for the next 2 weeks...HOT HOT HOT!!

:offtopic: Sorry to veer even further off track, but I just wanted to say Thank You T and LL for mentioning the above-ground pools! I've been wanting to get out of my condo and get into a house with a yard for some time and the second biggest obstacle (after the fact that our sales market has stalled ) is not having a pool. I never knew about these nifty above-grounds before! Are they easy to put up/take down, maintain, etc.?

The sun started to go behind the trees when they finally got out. Both could barely keep their eyes open during dinner and knocked out super early. I love summer! :beach:

:lmao: When the kids went back to school last September my SIL was overjoyed. :rotfl2: She even told them to take their time coming out of school in the afternoons "in case you fall" - translation: "in case Mommy hasn't finished watching Oprah". :teeth:

'Alice' is such a night owl. She's not starting pre-school til September and has so much energy to burn and I just can't seem to get her to sleep at a decent hour. But you've given me an idea. On sunny days I'm gonna get her into her little paddling pool (she loves it) and that might get her to sleep earlier. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you got the stroller for Maddie. Definitely the right decision! :thumbsup2 I used MacLarens for all 3 kids too over the years. Except HELLO! 90 dollars. :sad2: The one I bought for 'Alice' 2 years ago was 150 euro (about 200 dollars). I want to live in America. :sad1:

Good luck with the limo/shuttle situation. How come you're not doing Magical Express?

We've got a pool too, it's 8ft in diameter and about 3 foot deep, it's just plastic with an inflatable ring at the top but it's surprisingly stable, we use chemicals to stop it going green, the DD's are asking already to get it out, it rained today

Deb my Maclaren that I bought about 10 years ago for Jess was $220  It did included cosy toes though :rotfl2: And they are so worth the money :thumbsup2

I like the looks of the stroller...what's the weight limit?
50 lbs! Maddie's got more than 15 pounds until she reaches the weight limit! :lmao:

Seriously, you should consider buying one. I love that Mac. I've been through 11 strollers between Maddie and Evan and the Macs have been the best! :thumbsup2 It folds down just like an umbrella, but way more comfy and it's less than 12 lbs to carry! I'd rather carry a 12 lbs stroller than a 35lbs kid! :lmao:
I hope you get the limo thing straightened out. Why can't a company just send 2 vehicles? Sounds easy enough to me:confused3
Don't ask! :confused3 :lmao:

V, these pools are worth their weight in gold! The kids love it! Now as far as set up, depends on which kind you get and how handy you are. We got the one with the white metal frame. They also have the one like LL's with a soft ring. Well, it took Waldo and Andy hours to set it up last year. :confused3 Probably because they refused to read the directions and tried to wing it. I one the other hand, read the directions and set it up in less than 30 mins. :rolleyes1
It's fairly easy to maintain, I just buy the Maitenance kit from Walmart for $16 bucks! We got the pool at Target for like $160?

I'm telling you, they have so much fun and it wears them totally out! :goodvibes

Why are they so much over there? Aren't they made in England?? :confused3 Or just an British company?
Good luck with the limo/shuttle situation. How come you're not doing Magical Express?
We're doing ME from MCO to POFQ. We need transportation from our house to LAX.

What the warmest temp in gets in Kent during summer?

Why are they so much over there? Aren't they made in England?? :confused3 Or just an British company?

Everything's dear over here. Apple Macs are made a couple of miles from my house - it's the biggest Mac factory in Europe. After they make them, they're shipped abroad and by the time they come back here they're double the price. :lmao:

We're doing ME from MCO to POFQ. We need transportation from our house to LAX.

Doh! Of course - my brain is still half fried from the fever.

Wow, lots of catching up to do

First happy belated b-day (Did I mention lately how lime green jealous I am of you and your close proximity to DL;) ) One of these days I'm heading west again and will be looking for a meet.

Love the cowboy hat, you go girl!!!

My two cents for your wheels for the airport. Book the limo for your family, Waldo and the Enabler and tell Donald to put on his big boy pants and make his own reservation/arrangements. Haven't you done everything else can't he do one thing on his own.

NOTE: This installment is dedicated to all modes of transportation.

TO STROLLER OR NOT TO STROLLER:

I'm so confuzzled about the stroller situation. I present you with Maddie's WDW wheels.

I had stroller issues and I just love your choice!!! I ended up borrowing a stroller (lightweight).

You just gotta love that! I am going the beach tomorrow with a friend (and all of our kids) for just that reason.....beach = early bedtime!

:lmao: I want to live in America. :sad1:

Good luck with the limo/shuttle situation. How come you're not doing Magical Express?

And we want you to come!!!!!
