well collared button down shirts are required at the store where i work and all the women's shirts are way to short and they have to be tucked in otherwise we get sent home and written up. so i always get men's short sleeve ones. in the winter i will wear a sweatshirt over it as that is allowed. i sometimes wear a long sleeve one, but i wear a sweatshirt over that as well.

DH mostly wears long sleeved dress shirts w/ties, even in the summer. He will sometimes wear a short sleeved casual dress shirt and rarely a short sleeved dress shirt w/tie.

Well, the darn stuffed shirts around here insist on making us wear sleeves around the office, so I go with short sleeves most of the time, since I get warm pretty quickly, so I don't like long sleeves.
DH decided they were not "professional" enough for him. Too bad he has a lot of them in his closet. I do agree that long sleeve dress shirts look better though. JMHO.
