They do make it very hard to cheer for them. But being an American I do hope they win the Gold. Maybe this loss will put a little spirit in their game and they can start to play like a team.
Hey Willy, when it comes to women's sports I get very opinionated! LOL
I'm always griping about NBA stuff being everywhere & having to hunt Hunter anything WNBA!
The world has caught up and it makes me pull harder for the Americans. The reason the team is struggling, is because they did not include any three point shooters or role players when putting the team together. I don't care how good the team is, you have to be able to shoot threes to win.
You can trash A.I. all you want, but he is an example of what is RIGHT about this team. No one wants to win gold more than A.I., you may not like his personality but he has the biggest heart of anyone on the team.
The other thing we have to keep in mind is that the "A"
list players are sitting this one out. No Kobe, Shaq, McGrady,
Ray Allen, Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett.......That's a pretty decent
starting 5 with a 6th man right there.
Originally posted by jjskribs I hate to admit it but I'm glad they got beat. I think some of those spoiled brat professional basketball players needed a little reality check.
I could not agree more. I Could care less if they lost all the games. Basketball in America (Pro Ball) has been going down hill for the last few years and I don't see it ending any time soon.
I agree that they deserved to get beaten....What I don't get is why Puerto Rico is allowed to have an Olympic team when they are part of the U.S. (I don't have a problem with it, just don't get it.)
I'll admit it. When Jordan left the Bulls I stopped watching.
However...I do have 1 of the original "Dream Team" games on tape. I do watch every so often. It was just ::magic:: on the court.
I watched everyone of those games. The feeling of pride came out fully for the USA that year.
