Men & Gift Wrapping

My DBF really tries and cares about wrapping presents that he has picked out, it just never works. After 5 previous holiday seasons he let me wrap last year!

EVERYTHING about gift-wrapping is hard for my DH.

Yesterday, we had a lot going on, so I asked him to help DD wrap her friend's bday gifts before heading out to the party. I hollered downstairs, "Don't forget to take the price tags off!" Too late. So they unwrapped the gifts and proceeded to take the tags off. And DH decides to take the sticky tags off the puffy-covered notebook with a KNIFE. And the notebook cover gets a big hole in it.

60 minutes until party time, and he had to take DD back to the store (we live in a rural area, so it's a good 20 minute drive one way). Ugh.

The gift was HORRIBLY wrapped as DD finally headed out to the party. And the price tag was still on, just blacked out with a Sharpie.

What's the deal? Is it really that difficult to make a sharp crease/edge?

That's all I'm going to say...

So for you it is apparently not the thought but the actual gift and wrapping?

No, for me it's all about the wrapping.

My DH is the wrapper of the house, normally, if things are bought early.

Although not the night before Christmas.....
Santa always look likes he was on a bender.

I am normally up til 4 or 5 am wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve.

My DH HATES wrapping presents. He's not the best wrapper, but they usually turn out OK. Every other year, I've made him help wrap my DD's gifts, but I was ahead this year, so I wrapped it all and he didn't have to wrap anything but my gifts. He was so happy he took extra time and care to wrap mine. To be honest, his are wrapped every bit as good as the ones I wrapped. I think often it's just one of those things that falls in the "chore" category and not fun, so guys rush through it to get it over with. But it means alot to me that he took the time to wrap it, and didn't get someone else to. (From the time I was 12till I moved out, my DDad made me pick out my DMom's gifts, but wrap them too. The only thing he did was sign the card) He was alweays as suprised as she was to see her gift!!!

My DH is great at wrapping. He outshines me. He likesk to wrap the box tops so that the present doesn't have to be unwrapped.
