My friend's husband (who she was married to for 17 years) left her a couple of years ago for a girl in her 20's. This was a little flouzie at work (who was married) that he had the affair with. She was 17 years younger than him and everyone that knew of the situation told my friend that the little harlot looked like a YOUNG version of my friend. He laughingly referred to her as his "mulligan." If you people are going to deny the trend of husbands leaving their wives for women half their age then none of you live in reality. Also for all you female posters who are in your 40's and enjoy dating younger men enjoy it while you can cause in about 10 years all the men your age are gonna want the 20 year olds and all the men younger than you are more than likely not gonna wanna be with an older lady. My point is if we hold men accountable for their actions then none of this would be a problem. It should NOT be acceptable for older men to lust after younger women just as it should not be acceptable for a younger woman to marry an older man just for his money. In my case (the one you so rudely commented on), it didn't have anything to do with sex. He didn't have much of an appetite for that at all. It also didn't have anything to do with money, either...I made just as much as he did. What it had to do with was companionship. He and I were together for 5 years, were very good friends on top of being girlfriend/boyfriend, and were extremely compatible. We eventually split because he took a job working out of town 40+ weeks out of the year, and that's not the way I wanted to live - we tried to make it work for a time, and then decided we couldn't compromise on it. I also wanted kids, and he wasn't certain.

Either way, my opinion still stands. It's nobody's business. Two consenting adults can make their own decisions about who they want to spend time with. Everyone else should keep their nose in their own business.

Well we'll BOTH be in our 70's so if he "ewwwws" at my body then I can just come right back and "ewwww" at his body......Right now the thought of me being with a 70 year old man is pretty dern disgusting. That is my opinion and I am allowed to have it. I think it is sooo funny that just because I was a virgin when I got married and 21 some ignorant people seem to think that makes me immature!!!!! Oh and I never said that an older person and younger person could not have things in common. One of my best friends was old enough to be my mother!!! I personally have friends who are older in their mid 40's and adore our friendships. I don't hate men, I just call it like I see it. Men get away so much more than women and as a society women are judged harder. If you disagree with that then YOU are not living in reality. It is only in this day and age that it is even okay for a woman to be involved with a much younger man while with men being involved with younger women has been completely socially acceptable. No one made a statement about your virginity nor your life but rather your shortsighted attempt to justify why two people who are legal adults cannot fall in love and your rather crass judgmental statements about a situation that you know close to nothing about.
