Men and crocs

I'm a man and a crocs wearer. I even wear anklet socks with them mainly because I don't like the feel of the shoe sticking to the foot. I wear them at home and around town. Laugh if you want I don't care. Comfy cool shoes. I do match the sock color to the croc color.

To the earlier poster about politics, never voted with my feet it's a head thing. Steve McQueen is dead who knows what he would wear. I think the measure of a man has a lot more to do with character than footwear.

I'm currently at work, wearing crocs. I never thought about how they look on me until i read this thread, and won't think about it again after i leave this thread. While I was reading this thread thou, I looked at them very carefully and after about 15 seconds, i decided i have no opinion on how they look and would very much like to have those 15 seconds back.

I've seen plenty of men wearing Crocs. So what? :confused3 Wear what's comfortable. If other people don't like the way they look, it's their problem.

Wear your Crocs, smile, be comfy and have a magical time at WDW. :)

Absolutely!!! :thumbsup2

Who cares what other people you'll never see again think about how you look???

I used to feel the same way and then I finally gave in a bought a pair. I don't think they men look silly wearing them... as long as they aren't a bright color that draws people's eyes to your feet. :thumbsup2
Oh, rats. I was just going to point out that Mario Batali wears them...

Okay, fine. My brother wears 'em. I don't see anything wrong with Men in Crocs (okay, bro, you can stop twisting my arm now!)

I was given a pair of crocs by my FIL months ago and I tried them for a little while but I never never really cared for them. I much rather wear a pair of flip flops. Crocs seem way too odd for me and they do make your feet sweat.

DH owns two pairs of crocs, a black pair and a blue pair. He used to laugh and groan whenever he saw me put mine on and then he tried a pair. :lmao:

He LOVES them. And trust me, he's about as "Manly" as you can get. He's a die-hard republican (for whoever said a guy has to be a flaming liberal...PLEASE!), and he won't wear anything else to WDW. We are in the parks from rope drop to close and never once has he complained (or any of us) about sore feet. He did with his tennis shoes.

To the OP: Wear crocs if you want. It's your feet, your comfort. Who gives a flying...leap if someone else doesn't. I also wear a fanny pack at WDW. Is it ugly? YES, but it holds everything I need and keeps my hands free for the fun stuff. I don't care if Jane Doe points and laughs, it's her problem not mine. :goodvibes

This has been a pretty humorous thread. I agree that Crocs are just ugly, don't look that good on anyone except for kids, but look especially bad on guys. Oh well, what can you do.

Anyway, I picked up a pair of pink Disney ones from Shoebuy for my DW and ended up getting myself a red pair with black adjustable straps last weekend. I bought the offroad version. It took me awhile to find a pair to fit cause I take a 13 shoe and most stores stop at size 11. Size 12 Crocs fit me fine.

There are ugly, so what. There pretty comfortable and I like em. My DW even talked me into get some Disney Jibbitz for them. :rolleyes1

Men are supposed to wear uncoordinated ugly stuff anyway right?;)

They're ugly as sin.

But I own a pair of black crocs (with red straps) and they are ridiculously comfortable.

So when it's 95 degrees out and I'm trekking a few dozen miles around WDW Parks...I'll DEFINITELY take the ugly crocs, revel in their comfort all day, and be very happy.

My DH wears his black ones all the time. I think he looks pretty darn hot! LOL!

I'm a guy, happily married with children....I currently own 6 pairs of crocs, 2 pairs of Athens Sandals, 1 pair of endeavors and 3 pairs of beach, LOL. I love em' all and wear em' all. :lmao:

I don't frankly give a you know what regarding what other people think, ESPECIALLY when wearing a shoe that is THIS comfortable! I don't usually get funny looks, but then again, I'm a fairly big guy with that usually has that look of don't screw around with me on his face. :)

Now, my own personal complaint is that I wear a size 12 shoe. I need the XXL in the Beach style, and unfortunately, they don't make that size in the Mickey Head Style! :( (I do have a red pair of the new pirates ones though)! :thumbsup2

So relax, wear em', and have fun knowing your more comfortable than the average schmoe. :lmao:

Men dont wear crocs or flip flop or sandals. Steve Mcqueen didnt even wear these "flamboyant" items. Unless you vote liberal on a regular basis..Dont wear crocs. Be a man and wear sneakers for crying out loud. :cool1:

LOL...I'm secure enough in my "manhood" to wear pretty much whatever I want. :)

REAL men don't decide what to wear or not wear based on whether they'll get the approval of the fashion police. We are comfortable enough in our manhood to not care what anyone else thinks!

To answer the OP's questions:
Yes, people think men look silly in Crocs. People also think men look silly wearing hats with goofy ears or shirts with a big cartoon mouse on them.
Yes, men wear Crocs to WDW. We certainly aren't a majority, but there are a lot more of us wearing Crocs in WDW than anywhere else in public. So you will not be alone.

Personally, if I can walk around the parks all day long without pain instead of having my feet killing me by lunchtime, I don't give a #%&*$% what anyone thinks about how they look.

best reply i heard all day...right on

My DH owns two pair of Crocs and puts them on as soon as he gets home. He also wears them everywhere we go on the weekend. And beleive me, he is a very manly man (active duty army) and very much a republican! Alot of the guys at his unit also wear them as do most of the male doctors that I work with on a daily basis.

I agree they are not the prettiest shoes, but they are do darn comfortable! My DH even has Disney jibbitz on his!

He owns Mickies, POCs, 2 pair of plain black, 1 pair of turquoise, & thought he had finallly died & gone to heaven when the NFL Jaguar ones came out. His only regret? He can't wear them to work!

ok, so here is a question. I bought a pair of black crocs a few months back. I have never really worn them out, being a guy and usually wearing sneakers when I wear shorts.

I was just wondering what everyone thought about guys wearing them. I really like them, they are comfortable and i like knowing that they wont get soaked in wdw downpours or water rides. However, I feel funny wearing them cause they do have a diff. look than just a sneaker.

So im asking if people think men look silly in them, and also if there are any men out there who wear their crocs to the parks.

thanks

men look absolutely ridiculous in crocs (as do all but small children). that said, I wore them for the three days of my last Disney trip. There are other men doing that.

Men dont wear crocs or flip flop or sandals. Steve Mcqueen didnt even wear these "flamboyant" items. Unless you vote liberal on a regular basis..Dont wear crocs. Be a man and wear sneakers for crying out loud. :cool1:

Reread that to yourself:

"Be a man and wear sneakers for crying out loud."

Doesn't that sound kind of weird. Real men would wear steel-toed work boots or cowboy boots, not 'sneakers.'

At best they should be worn to the pool and or beach and back.

I'm a Croc wearing Dis guy. I have two black pairs, one is the Mickey Mouse design.:earsboy: The only time I don't wear the Crocs is when A) It's Raining, B)Snowing, or C) A dressy occasion (probably about 6 times a year).
