This is what is says on web site -

If guests are wearing an active MagicBand when they ride on select attractions, the photos will automatically be added to their My Disney Experience account

What exactly does that mean? Do you still go to the place to look at the pictures and tell them what number picture you are in and then they scan your MagicBand?

It means exactly what it says, you go on a ride, it adds the photo to your account automatically, and you don't need to do anything. They have scanners to pick up your location on the ride when you wear the magic band so you get the correct photo. Very easy!

Your MB will be read via radio frequency when the photo is taken, and the photo will be linked to your MDE account. You can go to your MDE account, click on PhotoPass, and view photos linked to you and to your Friends and Family who are set to share photos with you.

Yep automatically added. We were there last week and my DH scanned his MB on several of the pictures and we have two of each of those in our PhotoPass account, the one added automatically and then the one he scanned.

Worked great for us, although we were skeptical at first and still had the CM scan our MB at the viewing area on our first day. Just like TXMemaw, this resulted in duplicate pictures that day.

If you do not see a picture in your account that should be there (give it at least 1full day) there is a "report" feature on the Photopass web site where you can describe the time of day, ride, description of your party and they can usually find your pictures for you.

Our last trip.... our resort didn't have the magicbands rolled out yet so I am new to the whole MB stuff. How long does it normally take for the pictures to appear? And will the video's show up as well?

The pictures show up quick. Normally the same day. And yes the videos for Mine Train and ToT show up as well.

For me, they usually showed up within a couple of hours. Yes, videos will also automatically show up.

What if everyone is not on the same ride? My 2 adult sons will be with us, all on the same reservation, if I get MM and they go off on their own will it also capture their pictures? They are not good a posing for pictures but really like doing crazy poses on the rides.

One of the things I like best about MM - YES - everyone's pictures will be captured even if you're not together. As long everyone is listed as "family and Friends" in MDE and the option "this person can view and purchase my photos" is selected. (This is how it looks if your sons have their own MDE and you are linked. If you are the only one with an MDE account, it will simply say "you manage this person" beside your sons' names and that will work as well)

One odd glitch I encountered, not sure if it is common: everyone in my extended family had all their photos captured. All travelers could look up everyone's photos from posed photographer spots when they logged in to their own MDE account on phones or tablets. BUT for some reason, only the MM purchaser was able to see the ride photos of everyone. This was no big deal, really, as all photos had to be downloaded from the MM purchaser's account anyway, but at first we thought some photos were missing, until we realized only grandpa could see them all online.

If you have Memory Maker, and your sons are on the same reservation as you are and are on the same MDE account and you're doing all their FP+ and ADRs and all that, then they are fine, it should capture all their ride photos, and if they do any character meets or pose for PhotoPass Photographers on their own and scan their bands, it will upload to the MM account.

Right now they are under my MDE but might get their own if they go off together and want to get their own fast passes Thank you

Funny story... My DS and my nephew when on a couple of rides by themselves and then decided to have a couple of pictures taken by themselves in front of the castle for fun & "make me proud"... Needless to say the pictures they had taken ended up being some of my favorites because of the true joy you can see on their faces!
