Memory maker

Someone said they came back and the pics they wanted were gone!

Are there photographers in downtown disney?

So if I am on a ride, and that ride takes pictures when I get off do I have to scan my band or anything? What f my son is on by himself, does he have to scan?

Anyone know if dumbo has a photographer?

1. After I posted, I saw the post you're referring to. GaSleepingBeautyFan didn't say that she came back and the pictures she wanted were gone (in fact, she hasn't gone on her trip yet); she said that Disney took away a couple of the pictures she wanted. I don't know what pictures she's referring to though, because I haven't heard of any ride or dining photos that are no longer being offered, and I assume that that's what she's referring to.

3. No, your band get scanned at the point where the picture is taken.

4. As long as he's on your friends and family list on MDE, his band will scan automatically too.

5. No. The rides that have photos are:

Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Buzz Lightyear
Test Track
Tower of Terror
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Dinosaur
Expedition Everest

Last year, we didn't get the photopass plus and decided to just buy the rights to the pictures we wanted when we got home. It turned out that we liked more than 10 of them, so we spent the $150 on 10 pics when we could have had them all for the same price. Needless to say, this year it was a no brainer!

Aren't they in the process of adding additional ride photos? Did anybody hear more about that?

I have heard about it (HM is one ride I've heard is getting it), but I don't see how Dumbo could be one.

I wrote down the pictures I'm interested in getting, added up the cost and that's how I decided whether or not I wanted Memory Maker.

I decided to get it, ordered it and then Disney took away 2 of the pictures I wanted to get so now I'm at the break even point.

I decided I'll deal with it since I don't have a choice (no refunds) but this will be the last time I'm getting it when i go solo.
What do you mean by Disney taking away your pictures? Do you mean that the pictures in your account expired?
If this is the case I want to clarify for anyone else reading that the pictures in your account do expire 45 days after being taken. The date is clear at the bottom of the picture, so there is no guessing involved as to when the picture will disappear from your account. There is also the option to buy an extension on the photos.

I am going to disney three times this year. If I purchase MM and go with different family members that are on MDE can I use it for the year or do I pay per trip?

Thank you.
Only if the trips are close enough that the expiration time and the MM download times overlap (if the time from the beginning of one trip to the end of a second trip is less than approximately 12 weeks). Otherwise, you would need to purchase more than one MM.

For those folks who would rather have the photopass photographers use their own camera to avoid paying for MM, remember if you have little ones at meet and greets, the photographer will take pictures from the first approach to the actual meet, you will have priceless photos, but if you are spending that time talking to the photographer and instructing him/her on the use of your camera, you will miss all these delightful shots.

Im going Sept 20-28, December 26-29 and February and possibly March.

Would it work for the September, December and February trip? Ill also be on DCL December 29-January 2. Does it work there too?

Thanks. B

Totally agree with this. I was very happy with all of the shots of these moments that were captured on my last trip. In addition, I was able to actually participate in the moment versus watching it through my camera lens.

Thank you.

From my calculations (please double check if you really inted to do it, I don't want to be responsible for you losing any pictures), you won't be able to combine a MM from your September trip with any of your other trips because they aren't close enough. However, you should be able to combine pictures from December and February for sure and possibly March if it falls within approximately the first week of the month.
Pictures in your account expire 45 days from the day they are taken. The date they expire is at the bottom of the picture so you don't miss it! MM entitles you to 30 days of downloads. So the trick is to wait until the end of your 45 days to start downloading. From the first day you download, it states that you have 30 days to capture more pictures, make edits, and download. So you can pretty much cover almost 75 days with one MM entitlement. Keep in mind that your first pictures will still start expiring as they each reach 45 days, so after that first 45 days you won't be able to go back in and edit pictures from your first trip. It can also be tricky to get all of the edits done from the second (or third) trip prior to the entitlement expiring. ***Make sure to check the dates for yourself*** but if you start taking pictures on December 26, they shouldn't expire until February 9. If you wait to start downloading pictures until February 8 (I wouldn't wait until the last second, you know how Disney tech is), you should be able to take more pictures, do edits, and continue downloading pictures until March 10 as that is when your MM would expire.

MM will not extend to pictures taken on DCL.

Our 1st trip 3 years ago I tried to take pictures myself. I have a very nice DSLR camera but Im not as educated on how to use it as I could be. So most of the pictures I took didn't turn out. Such a shame too cause my youngest was just 2 and I missed lots of very adorable shots. So from that trip forward we purchase the package. I have no regrets it is totally worth not worrying whether I got the shot. And I don't have to worry about $2000 worth of camera equipment coming up missing.

What do you mean "take away pictures"?

Sounds like maybe the PP is referring to the elimination of the photo packages at the character/special dining events. If so, then I am fairly certain that only the printed photos actually given out/purchased at the meal have been ended. Photo pass photographers still take the pictures but they link to your magic band- therefore your MM if you purchased it.

Yeah basically. The photos are still taken, they just don't bring them to your table to try to sell it to you anymore.

It's worth mentioning that if anyone in your party has their own MDE account their photos won't show up on the MM automatically. You have to click edit next to their name on your My Family and Friends list and add this permission manually.

Just got it as husband rolled his eyes lol. So it I go on splash mountain, it takes the pic, do I need to scan my band after?

So if you aren't wearing bands (because you are staying off site) does each person need to carry their plastic ticket with them? Like because they are riding different rides, for example, or are in different seats? It's using the RFID technology in the cards/bands, so those cards need to be on the person as well, right??????
