Memory Maker with out Magic Bands

It's been 2 years since we've been to The World and I see a few things have changed. Magic Bands were in beta testing the last time we went, for one! We're offsite people and are on the fence about buying $60 Magic Bands. Do the bands really make a difference? I DO plan on buying Memory Maker, so it seems the bands make the photos more convenient. We never had a problem using the cards on previous trips though. I don't really worry about ride photos much because we always have weird faces! lol I read somewhere that the restaurants no longer sell printed photo packages - like Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare?? Do they just scan your card or band now and it's part of MM? We always bought the photo package, so it's a tradition to get the restaurant photos every trip.

The cards should work for everything but on ride photos. A Magic Band will (in theory at least, it's still not 100%) automatically associate your ride photo with your account. Otherwise you need to stop and have them do it by hand. At 7DMT there is no Photo desk at the ride, so you need to make a detour to one of the Photopass kiosks and have them do it. As long as you travel/ride as a group, you would only need one Magic Band for the group for the on ride photos to work.

As mentioned, photos while riding 7dmt and the while riding it videos available on some rides are the only thing that require you to have a magic band if your staying off site. It's the same price with more options at the park, wait until your there and just put your budget to the side as a possible extra cost. No need to guess.

If your going to be using photopass options and getting memory maker, you'll want to seriously consider it. Keep in mind not everyone needs one, as long as 1 person has it for the same ride car, your ok. based on your signature photo, get the kids a keep sake and you should be more then covered for ride photos.
