The memory maker, is it worth it? What exactly do you get for $150.00? I was curious I have never used this before, and I do know exactly what it is, if anyone out there can help me with it, that would be great. What are your feelings on it, is it worth it?
Thanks

You get all pictures taken by PhotoPass photographers (whether at meet and greets or at various places throughout the parks), as well as ride photos, and photos taken at certain character meals. Since individual pictures cost $15 a piece, by the time you hit 10 pictures, you've broken even on cost, and you can easily get way more than 10 pictures, especially when you make multiple versions of your pictures with borders and cropping.

To get the "most" for your money - you need to be sure to get all the ride pictures, find ALL the photographers and take/ask for all the magic shots. For the magic shots - ask every photographer with a handheld camera about the magic shots they have. Different photographers will have different magic shots and even reshoot magic shots you have already done because they might be better. Put boarders and stickers on the pictures and make the pictures different sizes and crop them to look different.

It also includes the on ride photos

Is this the new term for PhotoPass?

No, PhotoPass is the name of the photo-taking service. Memory Maker is a product that replaced the PhotoPass + CD. It's basically the same product, except it's download only, no CD.

As others have said you get the ride photos, character dining photos (if available), and all the photos that the photo pass photographers take. Our last trip we had over 300 pictures in our account before I added borders and edited them. IMHO it's a great deal, we would have bought the ride photos and some of the character photos so to get them all is wonderful! My DH and I love to pull out the CD (it no longer comes with it but I think you can purchase it for an additional charge) and look at all our memories for our previous trips! I don't think we will ever go without it again!

LOL! Well done!

I have read on other threads about changes to dining picture procedures. Do they still take the picture before you enter the restaurant? I am thinking....Tusker House where Donald was outside the restaurant. I know they are taking away the print packages that they bring to the table, but do they still take the pictures to put on MM?

i really hope they still take the Pic -- what about during the meal when the characters visit -- do they have Photogs there too or do you need your own camera?

Donal no longer outside for pictures.

You need your own camera.

This will be my first time using it but the reviews here say you can expect between 200-400 pictures from a weeklong trip.

From what I understand, they will still TAKE the picture before the meal, but they will no longer try to sell that picture to you during the meal. So if you have MM, you will be able to download that picture.

Just an FYI, Donald no longer does the picture in front of Tusker House. There is no character there and Donald walks around to meet inside.

Also, there are no Photopass photographers that walk with the characters at meals, you have to take those pictures with your own camera.

Thanks for the update on Donald! I am so sad.....I really like having a nice posed picture with him with everyone in it. The pics from inside the meal are never quite as nice.....food on table, other guests in background, etc. Although, I love the interaction inside....the pictures are iffy. Did they take another character away from inside or did they just add Donald in addition to the others??

Does anyone have a listing that shows all the locations that the PP photographers are located in each park?

In my humble opinion it was totally worth it. Not something we'll probably do every trip. But we did it in June and loved it. Got about 50 photos. So easy to share on FB and when we print them from our photo printer at home they look great.

We will definitely use one of the family shots as our Christmas card photo, and we're getting a big print of my daughter holding Tinker Bell for her godmother (who is also a huge Tinker Bell fan) for Christmas.

My poor husband was always the photographer in our party, which meant that he was never in the photos. Also, it meant that when our daughter was meeting the characters, instead of being able to watch and enjoy the moment, he was obsessing over getting good photos. With Memory Maker he was in all the photos and never had to worry about being "on the job."

I think your answer has been pretty much answered here. I think the other bonus is not needing to worry about constantly taking your own pictures, who is going to take the pics, draining batteries, saving pics, etc. As a single mom, I have literally had to take one pic of me, one of my son, and shop them together. (The lady selling the MM thought this story was hilarious and sad). So, for me, the cost will absolutely be worth it.

With the removal of the PhotoPass print packages at the character meals, is it still worth it?

It's also worth mentioning that if you link everyone in your party to your MM account, all their pictures will go there too. We had a party of 10 people and when we split up, they could still have pictures taken, ride rides, etc and their bands would send those pictures to my MM account - Magic!

For the 10 of us, for 10 days - really worth the money. And the pictures are nice, professional quality, high res (around 3.5megs 4000x6000) for the photopass photographers. The ride photos are less.

But having all of us on the one account was great.

You have to seek out the photographers, be willing to wait a few minutes if they are with another family. Don't buy it if you aren't willing to stop and have them pose you and such.

If it were just a couple of us on a quick trip - I don't think I would buy it again - but for more than 4 or 5 days, I would do it again in a second.
