Memory Maker VS Photo Pass+

I am confused. With the new MM do you not get a CD with all your pics? How does this work now? We are taking my mom with us and I wanted all the big cool pictures off all of us (my dad just passed away and I have no pictures of all of us together and I refuse to have this happy again, so we got the mm) but now I am scared. Can we still do the boarders and cropping?

No disc unless you purchase the add on. You just download them. The borders and cropping sadly are still available :P

While I'm not a big fan of paying the same and getting less in general, the things they are eliminating aren't breakers for us. I enjoyed the physical pictures but they just sit around in a bag in the house. The stock photos were great but I don't need one every year. The thing I'll miss the most is the physical CD. I LOVE having the CD in case something happens to my PC, but I'll just burn my own. Not thrilled, but the pictures we get and the convenience is still something that we want.

This is where the pictures end up in our house. I like being able to download them and have them on the screen saver on my computer. I can always print them and put them in a scrapbook at some point, but I don't need the physical pictures when I first get home.

I got a call back from Photopass about my refund. The person I was working with was very, very nice. He said they'll refund the difference on a check, rather than directly to my card. He said the system can't handle two CC refunds. Because it's Disney IT, it made perfect sense to me. :) At the end of the day, it doesn't matter, as long as the money is refunded. We're 21 days out from our trip and I'm glad to have one less thing on my to-do list.

I pre-purchased MM for a trip starting 1/7/14.

1. Is there a way on the MDE iPhone app to view the pictures?

2. If I access the pictures using mydisneyphotopass.com while on vacation, will that complicate things if I later try to download pictures on MDE (web) when I get home?

3. If I "download" pictures using mydisneyphotopass.com on my iPhone, will that save them to "Photos"?

4. I haven't seen Pirates League mentioned. On the theory that MM = PP+ - CD, I assume that Pirates League photos are still included. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

(As an aside, MM sounds like it will be more valuable to me than PP+. I like the idea of unlimited downloads. I'll be able to post MM pics while I'm still on vacation. My computer is backed up to an external hard drive and to the cloud, so the extra CD/DVD is unnecessary.)

Nope.

Nope

If you can manage to download your photos to your phone you'd be one of the first. They're zipped and generally mobile devices aren't fans.

Pirates league is included too.

I just did live chat and was told by the CM that Photopass+ has been discontinued and replaced by Memory Maker. If you have already purchased Photopass+ it will be honored but now you can only get Memory Maker. No more CD of pics, just downloadable but character meal and ride pics are included. HTH!

Just an update on the PhotoPass+ that is for sale on eBay for anyone who is intrested. About a week ago the curiousity was killing me so I checked ebay to see if they were still selling the Photopass+ . I noticed they are now selling it for $89.00. He seems to drop the price closer to the end of the time limit. Any way he assured me that the volucher you take to the park was inside the sealed gallery CD case. With that price I took a chance. If worse came to worse I could still use the code and use it to get the regular picture CD and still save money. to my surprise the red PhotoPass + volucher was inside along with the booklet , code to use to get your CD and the Gallery CD!!!! The case came sealed and you could tell it was not tampered with. So for all of you that thought you chances of getting PhotoPass + were gone you might want to take a chance and look at eBay.

Ok I have a question bit confused. It says you need to purchase memory maker 3 days before your trip otherwise photos taken then will not be valid on memory maker account. It then states that memory maker last for 30 days. So can you purchase memory maker in advance of your trip or do you have to wait until a few days before? Will it expire if I purchased it now for my trip in February or is there some sort of activation you have to do? I am just wondering as we are staying at Shades of Green and will not have magic bands to link the pictures to and will need the memory maker card. So I want to purchase it early enough to receive the card in the mail. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to purchase MM now and we leave in about 14 days for our trip. If i do will call pick up, is there a location in DTD to do this? If so, where?

Ok just making sure this is gonna work.

I just purchased the photo pass for $119. I don't need the rides or dining photos.

Will I still get a cd.

Do I still get a card to scan like in the past or do I get a card then link that card number to my bands.

I don't see anyone talking about the standard photo pass anymore, did I just buy something that doesn't exist anymore.

What does this waiting period mean? I'm confused. This is on the Disney site. We are going in March. Do I wait to purchase the MM?

Important Memory Maker – Advance Purchase Details

Memory Maker Waiting Period
If Memory Maker is purchased at the advance purchase price, any photos taken within 3 days of the date Memory Maker is purchased are not included and must be purchased separately.

It means that you have to purchase MM at least three days before you have your first picture taken - any pictures taken before that that three day period won't be included.

It means, for 72 hours starting the second you purchase memory maker those photos are not included in your purchase. A photo taken 72 hours 1 second after purchase would be.

Thanks! What do you do if you have a large group and they don't have MB? Can they upload paper tickets from PP photographers?

With PP+ you could pick up the card at Team Mickey at DTD. I don't know if that's still the case with MM.

1. Yes.

2. Yes, you get the cards from the PhotoPass photographers just like always.

3. They wouldn't sell you something that doesn't exist anymore. You can no longer buy PP+ because it doesn't exist anymore (although they're still honoring it for people who have bought it but haven't used it yet.)

Sorry if this question has been answered, but I'm confused and not seeing it!

When we went back in Jan. 2013, we purchased PP+ in advance. We had to take the voucher to a will call place to pick up our card and lanyard (we went to DTD).

Our next trip, we are planning to purchase MM. We are also planning to do Chef Mickey's on our arrival night. If we purchase a month or so in advance, will they mail us the card? Or do we need to plan a trip to a will call place to pick it up before we go to CM? Or is it all just linked to the Magic Bands and the card isn't necessary?

At the time of purchase, you are given a choice to have the card mailed or to pick it up at will call. I just purchased Memory Maker and it took about a week or so for my card to be mailed to me with the standard shipping that was offered.

But, you are right, Memory Maker is linked to the Magic Bands. So the card is not absolutely necessary. Maybe it is given as a back up just in case? Maybe others who have already used Memory Maker at the parks can weigh in on using the bands vs. the card to collect photos.

Hope that helps!

I purchased mine yesterday, via phone, and revived an email this morning that it had been shipped Fedex overnight delivery and would be here tomorrow. Our trip is Feb. 2.

We arrive in 15 days. We are doing a split stay. I will be ordering MM in the next day or two. Ordering by will call do I receive a confirmation # to link to both of our resorts stays?
