Ok I am now very confussed. What is the difference between memory maker and photo pass +? So far I have been told that I can still add a CD to memory maker. If so how much extra is it? I have been told that with memory maker you can see all your photos right away where photo pass + you have to wait untill you get home. Can you still use the special borders and add ons like holding tinkerbell in your hand? Is memory maker some how connected to your magic bands and with photo pass + it is connected to a card? I am also hearing that even though you have memory maker you will still get a card for attraction and dining photo ops is this the case? The same day memory maker was made avaliable I was also able to customize my magic bands for our trip in May 2014. Before that I did not even know if we would get magic bands so is it safe to assume that magic bands will stay? I thought I had everything figured out until they added this memory maker. What are the pros and cons of both? I can still drop my Photo Pass + but want to choose wisely since I will not be able to get it back. Anyone have more information Please?

The memory maker disc is 29.95 but includes bonus content.

With memory maker you can download you photos right away. With PhotoPass plus you can redeem it one time. Memory maker you can download multiple times.

You still have magic shots and borders - those are basic PhotoPass services, not PhotoPass+ services.

You don't normally get a memory maker cArd unless you buy it in the parks or a retail location. You can use regular PhotoPass cards or magicbands.

Magic bands are definitely here to stay.

They'll honor any PhotoPass+ vouchers that have already been sold. You can always use it.

What would be the purpose of buying the card? Is attraction and dining photo ops still included in Memory Maker? Can you download pictures and choose to have a CD? Are all your photos put on the CD or do you select certain ones? So Memory maker would be connected to my magic band? So far it sounds as if I should go with Memory Maker unless I am missing something if I want the CD it would be the same cost as Photo Pass + but you would have more flexability and get to see your pics right away. How do you choose the boarders and special pictures? Is that something you ask the photographer at the time of the photo? This whole thing is all new to me. The last time I went to Disney was in 2000. A lot has changed since then.

I would like to know this too. Hadn't heard of memory maker.

I have become over whelmed with all the Disney changes and options for our vacation and still have many unanswered questions. I will tell however that during my reasearch on the new Memory Maker that you can get information on this service as well as most asjed questions on the My Disney Experience web site. The photo pass also has a number you can call. It is 407-560-4300.
They are open Mon-Sat 9:00am - 6:00pm EST. Hope that helps. I plan on calling Monday.
Does any one out there know if there is something you get with Photo Pass + that can not be obtained through Memory Maker? It seems you can still buy a CD with Memory Maker and still cost the same as Photo Pass +

I believe the CD comes included with the price of PP+, but is an additional $30 with Memory Maker. You also don't get dining photos anymore with Memory Maker, but a previous poster mentioned this was not included with PP+ but just something done so it may still continue or if you have PP+ you might not get the dining photos anymore. So many changes, something new it seems everyday to learn.

I would take PhotoPass+ because the 400 gallery photos but mainly the physical disk of your photos. With that disk you have a hard copy and can make as many digital copies as you want. Its just a piece of mind thing for me to know I have a physical and digital copy. Same reason I won't buy games $60 games through PSN or Live.

I can not be sure but I thought I bought the Photo Pass + for 169.95. With that being said the Memory Maker is 149.95 so there would only be a difference of $10 if you wanted to add the CD to the Memory Maker and still have the convience of having it attached to your Magic Band ve the chance of losing a card. What I personally think Disney is doing is just linking everything to the magic bands. CDs seem to becoming a thing of the past with everyone downloading these days. With Memory Maker people who would not use the CD could save money and still get the same service yet people like me whom tend to still live in the stone age can still have the option of getting a CD. I aggree with you. There is sooooo many things to learn before our trip. I feel sorry for any one wanting to plan a trip last minute. As for me I plan on calling Monday just to see what would be the best option. I would hate to return my Photo Pass + and find out I have missed out on something. I think you also get a CD with pictures of the parks and your choice of a resort with the Photo Pass + that you may also have to buy seperately if you go the Memory Maker route. I will post any info I find out.

169.95 is the old price for the Disney's photocd.

If you do purchase the cd backup it comes with the pictures in the park.

I did not order a backup CD I ordered Photo Pass +. Again I can not be sure how much I paid but I thought it was 169.99. I got it when I bought my Disney Vacation pakage back in the begining of October 2013. According to AllEars.Net the Photo Pass+ includes:Photo Pass Card and Lanyard; a gallery CD with more than 400 stock photos; unique code to create and order a PhotoCD with all your photos online at DisneyPhotoPass.com, Print pakages at select Dining locations; Digital Downloads of select attractions.
Now that all photos taken after Sept 4th, 2013 appear on MyDisneyPhotoPass.com not sure how all this is going to work with Photo Pass+ and if they will still gave you all of the above. Guess I will find out Monday.

I am even more confused having read this post. I understand with Magic Maker I can download my photos as many times as I want. But are ride and dining photos no longer included? We have selected several character dining locations because we were planning on doing the photo option.

I've already ordered Memory Maker, am I just out of luck now?

Ummm...Memory Maker is the replacement for PP+. That's all. Basically, the same thing with a different name and more directly connected to My Disney Experience. I don't know what everyone else is talking about. There's no more PhotoPass+ for WDW.

I thought it was equal too but further research proved it isn't. I was told it still exists for those who have already purchased it, although I can choose to return pp+ and then purchase MM. But I'm not going to mess with that. I leave in 7 days and simply don't care to spend time on that mess.

The only difference I'm seeing between PP+ and MM is that with MM you no longer have the option of getting your pictures on a CD - you can only get the downloads.

Quoted from the link in my previous post:

"With Memory Maker, your whole family can be in the picture at Disney PhotoPass locations plus select attraction and dining locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort."

Although I believe I read in another thread that you no longer get the actual photos at the dining locations (except for Akershus and CRT where they're included in the price of the meal), but that you just get the digital copies.

From what I can gather after speaking to WDW on the telephone, the only difference is NO CD because it's all digital downloads and NO printed photos from dining to take with you after your meal but dining and ride photos are still added to your Memory Maker account.
Hope this helps:)

.

A person that turns in PP+ voucher will only have access to PP+ and not MM. So my photos won't go into MM and I won't have the sharing feature either. I still get the CD and no downloads. Although they have discontinued selling PP+ they will honor all vouchers until it phases out. Having a PP+ voucher doesn't mean that I get MM unless I return PP and purchase MM.

I'm wondering if I got bad information from the CM I spoke to but it is the same thing Cais is reporting in another thread. Cais seems to really be "in the know" when it comes to MM and PP.

So with PP+ you had to get a card that you would show at the rides to get your attraction photos added, is it the same with Memory Maker? Having only one card was the main reason I didn't want to do PP+ so if it is all linked to the magicbands now I may actually purchase the MM.

The website says everyone in my travel party will be able to link their pictures to memory maker- so that means my sister (who is on my mde account and does not have a separate account since I made all reservations) would be able to go to the photo area after riding space mountain and have them scan her band and add her ride photo which I would then be able to download having purchased the Memory Maker ahead of time?

And I no longer have to go to a special photo center to pick up the stupid card before I can have photo's added? Meaning the Chef Mickey's dinner photos that I have scheduled the very first night will be able to be added via the magic bands?

TIA if you can clarify this for me!

Yep. If she's part of the memory maker party they can get it added. Same with dining photos.
