Memory Maker Sharing Groups

AFAIK there are groups on Facebook. (There were several for my November trip.). However, while many people have had great success with them, I had a horrible experience where a woman was running multiple groups with MANY more members than the 5 we were supposed to have and pocketing the difference. She then claimed the logins and passwords were stolen and bought time juggling accounts by claiming she was waiting on Disney IT to restore the logins. Lots of people never got their photos and those of us that did lost our edits and only got the basic pictures. My advice: be certain you get backup photos with your own camera if you decide to join a group. I'll never do a share again. The extra money is worth the insurance of knowing I get MY photos and the edits that I make.

Thank you! We have always gotten our own in the past but also use our own cameras. I am finding a hard time justifying $170 for our upcoming trip since I always get the same shots on our own camera too. Except for the ride photos...was hoping to group share just to get those pictures without it costing a fortune. Any idea how to find a group on Facebook?

Stories like this are the reasoned they were banned on the disboards.

A Facebook share did not work for me either. It's not wort it. Either spend the extra money or use your own camera. CM will take picture with your camera if you ask.

Or even just pay for the individual photos you want. It take a lot of photos to make MM, or even a share, worth the cost.

That is disappointing to hear because I have done photopass shares for about ten years and have never had a problem. All but the past two were from the Disboards groups. If the group uses paypal, you at least have the option for a refund through Paypal if things don't work out. I joined a Facebook Memory share for this fall, so fingers crossed all goes well.

Even if you get your money back you may be out pictures. I think most shares go off well. Mine did not.

Thanks for all the tips. I was not going to do MM at all this trip because I always have the CM take one with our camera too. I' was really just going to miss the ride photos. I found a group on fb that I hope will work out, but definitely not relying on it for all photos!

I have read all the comments and realize all the risks, but MKYMOUSE40 how did you find a group on facebook?
