We everything in place, dining reservation, FP all set up, received magic bands.
When I look at MDE account it says I still need to link memory maker. Disney didn't send anything for memory maker so since we have bands, when we go to scan to add a photo will the account just know?

Did you buy the package that included the free memory maker? If so, I did as well, and I was also wondering why MDE doesn't show it in my account.

However, I heard from someone on these boards that they had the same question and they heard from a few different CMs that you will get your memory maker upon check-in at your resort. Supposedly, you will then get a code that you can link to your account.

I bought a memory maker with my package to and was also told we receive it at check in. I suppose since it doesn't really need to be linked in advance that's fine. But everytime I'm in MDE and it says there isn't one linked it bothers me a tiny bit. LOL

I thought it had to be activated 3 days before you use it to get all the photos on it?

If it's the promotional package, yeah it won't exist until you check in.

I think the link memory maker is to use after you are done with it and you want to download your photos ?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a package with free memory maker and I have received everything else for my upcoming trip except that.

It makes sense that the MM associated with packages aren't linked until you check-in. Especially if it is a free memory maker. Otherwise, someone could book a package and link their free MM. If MM is linked, they could actually use it at WDW well before their trip, then cancel their package. They would then have gotten free memory maker. So, I would think it is accurate that you will get it upon check-in.

The 3 day rule only applies if you want the discounted advance purchase price. If you buy MM that way, pictures taken in the 3 days after purchase are not included. If you pay full price, pictures taken on the day of purchase are included. Also, I believe it's the purchase date and/or price that triggers the 3 day rule, not the date that you link it.
