Memory maker refund?

I called in last night about the refund. Was told that when the price dropped anyone with a future trip had a $20 credit added to their photo account. I can't see it in my account, so not sure how it works but they say it is there.

We bought ours before the price drop as well. When I signed into MDE and went to my Memory Maker if you add something to your cart you will see the $20 credit.

We only met one character- Main Street Mickey (we had a ton of character meals so didn't want to waste time on M&Gs)..
So, even without those photos- Memory Maker was soooo worth it!!

There are so many great spots, and the magic shots are awesome!!

In my opinion I think it's actually the closet (and only) thing to be being a "bargain" at WDW.

We love it, and we are only saying 8 days. In 2012 I had over 600 photos, it is all personal preference, I feel it is totally worth it for one week if you love pictures. Pretty no brainer if you have kids, my girls are older and think it is the greatest thing especially with all the frames and tags you can add to the pictures.

Thanks for all the replies! On a suggestion, I found a FB group and am on my way to a share which makes the decision much easier!
If you share are the photos separated? Or do you have to scroll thru all of them? That's what would scare me if so! There are so many photos.

They go in date order mostly - so if you are there the same time as people in the share they will be all mixed up. In one of my shares I was the first trip and the next group got there after I left, so it was very easy to get my photos. The leader should help to coordinate that. Its really not so bad though even if they are all mixed up.

We didn't use it for our short weekend trips, but our long summer vacations we do. Last year, we wound up with something like 300 pictures. We figured since we paid for it, why not stop everywhere and get our picture taken. In fact, the photo in my avatar was the very first photo we took on our very first day there last summer. As soon as we started walking down Main Street, we grabbed a photographer and started. From there, we just kept asking. At the water parks, they take lots of photos of the kids doing activities, especially at BB. For our upcoming trip this June, we'll buy it again and use the heck out of it. Memories that will last forever...

Ok, your experience sounds easy. I had a tough time getting thru all of my own photos...couldn't imagine if mixed up.

So we have not bought anything like this since last big trip about 6 years ago. It was then photopass. Can you not make your decision to buy until you get home? I personally felt that $20 was not worth the savings if I hated all the pictures which in years past it was debatable on value. We had a lot of messed up pictures but like I said years ago. However if I have to decide right away that may change things.

The best value we received from it was about 10 years ago when we had our pictures done at the GF resort. I would love to do that again but do they even offer that anymore? If so what is the price?

How are people finding a Facebook group? Did you just google it?

I know a couple people going about the same time and they either are not interested or are already in a large group. How might I find others going who might want to share?
There's a June 2016 FB group and there are shares there.

We love MM. It is some of the best money we spend on our vacation. The memories that they capture and getting all of us in the picture is priceless to me. The new added videos and the magic shots that they've added the last few years have been great additions. I always take the pictures and make albums and blow up several to hang around the house.

How much is it now? We bought ours months ago for our upcoming trip. I'll have to look into this.

One thing to consider - annual passes now include unlimited Photopass downloads, essentially the same as memory maker. One person in your group can upgrade to an AP, get the pictures and other AP discounts.

I'm really torn on purchasing MM for our upcoming trip. We did the photopass in the past but the pricetag now is giving me pause about doing it again. We are not big on characters and I typically don't care about ride photos and I know those are big selling points and I am OK with asking a photographer to use our camera. I do however love the idea of the magic shots and a few other perks. We will be there 2 weeks so I imagine we can still get lots of photos.

If I pre-purchase MM and decide I only want to buy a few shots individually instead, can I get a refund?

If you can find a share group you can split the cost and works out very well that way. I have done that a few times and paid no more than $25

Is there a way to check in my account how much I paid. I thought it was 149 but now I think it was the 169.

We bought Memory Maker for our upcoming trip, and there are 12 of us in our touring group so I am quite sure it will be worth it. I am not sure it would be if my family of 3 just went however my cousin got a refund on hers about a year ago because the memory maker had only two photos on it their entire trip. A bunch of pictures were missing so I think they felt bad and gave her a refund.

We did a share last time we went and will be doing one again. That way I don't feel like we have to stop for every PP photographer. I do love them for the ride photos - videos are new to us. I also do like them for meet & greets so I can just enjoy the kids interacting with characters. I always use Disney photos for Christmas cards so I do enjoy the share, though I will admit we did consider just buying it outright this time.

We LOVE memory maker...sure we do a ton of M&Gs, but we also do those pose-able shots at Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom...basically if we saw a photographer we jumped at the chance to get our pics taken...its really nice being able to be IN the pictures, lol...usually I am the 1 taking the pictures, lol. Our last trip we had over 300 pictures and that included their magic shots.

I agree, for me the magic shots really make it worth it. We also had about 300 pics after our 6 day trip last year. Also the shots they take when you are on certain rides (7 Dwarfs / Buzz Lightyear..) are great. we also got a few cute videos made as well.

I have to check what the price is now, as I paid $149. for MM this Feb. for our trip next month.

DebbieB--
I was told that if you have annual pass that only those people that actually have the annual pass will be able to get the photos automatically uploaded to MDE. If someone with a pass is with someone else in your party that does NOT have annual pass, they would then have to tap the screen at the end for the ride with the magic band of the person that has the annual pass to get the photo. So, my scenario--three rooms, of which only one will have annual passes. I am hoping to get pics for the other rooms without having to pay out memory maker for those other rooms. HERE IS THE QUESTION after that long drawn out babble . . . . If I have old magic bands that are still tied to my current MDE, can I give them to my family members to keep in their pockets so that ride photos will be automatically uploaded to my account? Or when they get their photos done by photographers, could then just scan those bands? Does this make sense to anyone?

I don't think you have to do that as long as they are linked to you in MDE. I was there in May with 2 friends, we linked our accounts. One friend is a cm, so she does not have an AP. Her pictures are in my account, I even got pictures from her trip with her son last fall.

I was unsure whether to get Memory Maker for my trip next year, but as its a special trip, I thought "why the hell not!". I added it to the budget to then find out that for UK and Irish holidaymakers, its included free with the park tickets. Result!
