Ok I need some help.

We are two families traveling as a group. 4 adults and 4 children.

Is it possible to purchase one MM for our group? We will be together most days in the parks but I am sure there will be times when the two families go their own ways.

In those cases is the MM linked to all of our bands? I thought I heard that only one person in the party can get the ride photos.

Looking for advice how can we make this work or should each family just buy their own MM

We are going with another family in November and have purchased Memory Maker. It will link to your Magic Bands. I was told it would be no problem as we are all linked under my Disney experience. Heard your ride photos are automatically put on your MM now... So I would not think it would be a problem. Hope this helps.

We just went 2 weeks ago and a friend of mine happend to be there at the same time pure accident but thanks to facebook we spent alot of time together so our kids could play. Anyway i had purchased the MM, and we took several pictures together and i'd ask the photographer to take seperate pics of each family as well as a group as long as we weren't holding up anyone. Now as far as breaking the group up Im guessing they will have to use the photopass card. All rides that took pictures were automatically on my my MM, which I thought was great

We just used the mm family of 8 had no problem some last names different. Our band was used.

.

Is this something new "all ride pictures were automatically on the MM". Each time I have been there I had to go to the counter to get them added. If someone could confirm please.

I wasn't aware that the rides did it either. I know my son and I rode EXpeditionE several times and kept loading our pictures on our MB after a few times a new CM was at the line and she said if you have MM they autmatically load. I asked her even if your not using a FP? She confirmed it of course i was worried but they were on there so you can allways double check but all the rides that take pictures were on it

To answer your direct question more precisely, I think it all depends if all of the 2 family's magic bands are managed through the same MDE account. If they're linked to 2 separate accounts then I believe only the magic bands in the account that has purchased MM will work.

As long as everyone is linked in one MDE account-anyone getting pics and scanning their MB all the pics will show up-including ride pictures automatically. one person has to be named the designated MM person-only that person can download all the photos (though once downloaded you can copy, print etc as much as you want). If anyone does not have a MB get a photopass card from photographer and you can manually add those.
We just got back from our trip and we have over 200 photos just from the MM. Our party split up several times as well (had my FIL and MIL for a couple days with our family of 5) and all pics are there.

I just ordered MM and it says to go to will call to pick it up. Will it not just automatically go to my magic band if I ordered from the link in My Disney Experience?

This is where I'm a bit confused too. I purchase Memory Market (pre purchase) back in May, and I got an email confirmation but nothing saying what do do/if I pick something up/etc.

I used the confirm number on the email to link Memory Market to my MDE, and it shows up there. Is that all I need to do? I don't want to miss something and then find out days into it that I didn't get pictures.

Thanks!

When I go into My Disney Experience it no longer has the link purchase or link MM, it just has a link to view photos and the photos are from my last trip.

I also have the same question. I've been reading conflicting reports about having attraction pictures go straight to magic band or do I have to take down the picture number and wait in line at the counter? Today I decided to chat with a Disney customer svc rep. Who sd I still have to take down the pic number and go to the counter to have it added to my memory maker acct. which is it? Feeling confused.
