Memory Maker Question for split parties

I didn't see this specifically addressed in previous threads, so I thought I would ask it...
I am taking my 2 teenage nieces to WDW next week, and we may split up at times, as they are a bit more adventurous at times...
If they go to the rocknrollercoaster, can they have their ride photo loaded into our memory maker if I am not there? (they are linked to me)

Same thing with the water parks, I had some awesome photos before with the photopass cards, but don't plan to be at the bottom of the slides to have my magic band scanned. Can they have their band scanned and have the photo loaded into our group's photos?

Not sure about the waterparks, but as of today you no longer have to scan your band for ride photos. The system just "knows" you rode it. If they are doing regular photos, their bands should work too.

This is the long-range feature of the magicbands, but you'd still need the memory maker package linked to that magicband for it to work. So whatever permissions you'd need to sse pictures before still exist, and your band is still being scanned, just at a longer range.
