I knew that the cost was $199 when MM was purchased at Disney, but the pre-purchase price was $149.95. Now the website says pre-purhcase rate is $169.99! When did the price go up??? And is there a discount for the $149.99 price?

Price went up beginning of December. And no there is no coupon of sorts for the original $149.99 price.

What leads me to believe the increase is due to you being able to get ride videos from certain rides as well as pictures.

There were threads on here announcing the price increase in advance too- we bought ours before the price went up thanks to the warning threads

Not going to do Memory Maker again. None of the ride photos came out good and really only ended up with about 5 photos I really wanted, so will go ala carte next time around.

Oh man, I missed the warning. Don't get on the boards as much as I'd like, especially before the holidays. But I didn't get the notice about the video. That's cool!
So for those who have used it with the price increase, do you feel it's still worth it??

some of the rides now include a video...Tower of Terror is one...includes a ride intro and then some quick cuts of your ride experience...on top of the ride photos as well.

Is MM worth it? It can be...but you have to make it worth it. You have to stop and get photos taken in the parks, I wouldn't buy it if you only want ride photos.

The download cost without MM is $14.99...so if you plan on getting 11 or more photos, then it is worth it...but if you always walk past the Photopass people and don't get photos, then there aren't enough rides with photos to get your money's worth.

We always get it, but then we tend to get as many photos in the parks as we can.

My oldest daughter and I are going so between the two of us wanting pics for our scrapbook making this will be a bargain. We plan on asking for pics wherever n whenever we can

Our group were not ready to buy MM for our summer trip before the price went up.

Although I am disappointed, it is only an extra $20 when pre-ordering.

We had numerous ride photos last time and quite a number of normal photopass photos. Before adding borders we had about 200 photos so we think it has a value. Especially as it makes us get the entire family in the photographs.

We are doing a Grand Gathering with 4 individual family units and 3 different reservations. Can we all use 1 MM? There will be times we are split up and times we are all together.

This is the best way to buy. If your all on the same DME then you will all have the MM linked on your bands. The other way if you have separate is to get the cards from the photoCMs and link those cards. Not sure about the ride videos with that , but should be some way.
Then when you get home and download, you can all share.
Enjoy

I have a random question... I booked my package before the increase. If/when free dining comes out and I have that applied to my package will I then have to pay the new MM price?

Your Memory Maker account is linked to your MDE account. It is not linked to a resort stay - making resort/dining changes will not affect MM.

Not sure how I missed the price increase but not sure ill purchase now.
It was boarderline worth the $99 I paid the last couple times let alone $150
Hmmmmm

Can friends of ours that have separate reservation but linked to ours be able to use same memory maker?

Those were the videos we got too but we also got "animated" videos as in they took a still and added video animation to it. Sven and lights. Dancing olaf. And during the holidays got prep and landing at the toy soldiers during the day not during MVMCP. My understanding is that they plan to continue to expand this as well.

We got a lot of ride and character photos too so before borders and stickers etc we had nearly 200 during thanksgiving so definitely worth it even at the most busy times for us. We also got 6 or 7 magic shots too.

Also folks that love it talk about all the pics the photographers take that you miss with your phone and camera. The got one of my son in full blown hysterics because santa goofy and pluto had christmas donald with them and they were all acting up. I was watching the interaction but the photographer was taking great pictures.

These are our favorites and the ones that make it worth it to us. Having everyone in the picture. Having pictures of my husband tickling my son to get him to relax/smile. The joy on my face seeing my Rapunzel crazy son meet Rapunzel and Flynn. Chip and Dale trying to eat snacks from our sons snack trap.
