Memory maker or mini portrait session?

If you can only choose between theses 2 options, which would you do and why. I was kinda leaning towards the mini portrait session, I just don't know how many photos you get with it. We got the photo pass plus last year, which I'm assuming is now the memory maker. I feel like with memory maker it's pretty much the same photos in every park. We don't buy ride photos and are not doing any dinners with photos. Will be staying at the BC and thought some nice photos on the beach area would be nicer.

Any thoughts?

You seemed to have answered your own question. You said you aren't getting ride or dining photos and that the other pictures are, in your opinion, been there, done that. It sounds to me like the photo session would be the better choice for you given those facts.

I've seen posts about a photographer that comes from offsite that everyone seems to like but I don't remember his name.

If you do the mini portrait session you may be able to get some photographer names from others here, some seem much better than others.

I guess I am leaning towards the portrait session. Has anyone done this? Was curious how many photos they take. I guess all the photos go on the flas drive?

We have done both the photo pass plus and the portrait sessions. I would do the portrait session, we have done it twice at The Grand Floridian. We got at least 25 shots, some inside and most outside. Both times I was extremely happy with what we got and the quality.

The wedding boards will help with outside photographers names. We got married at WDW in 2008, Randy Chapman was our outside photographer and he was great. I would ask him to do a photo shoot for us again in a heart beat.

We have done the mini portrait session twice - once at the Polynesian and once at GF. We were really happy both times. We got the CD, (I believe they give you a flash drive now) with 80 photos from the one session and 70 or so from the other. The photos in my signature are from the 2. I don't hesitate to recommend it. I feel it was great value and would happily do it again.

is the mini session similar to, or a new name for, the photo package that was offered several years ago?? we did family photos once at world showcase and the last time at wilderness lodge at christmas time. if i remember correctly i think the cost then was 250$, but that was 6 years ago and a LOT of water has gone under the bridge since then!

I believe that is now the enhanced photo package. Not 100% sure of the current name, but that would be the one you can have in the parks and is around $300.

The mini session is currenlty $150 plus tax and includes the CD. It is available at selected resorts only, not at the parks, and lasts around 20 minutes. That is the one we did and found it more than adequate.

I don't know what your budget is, but we had family pictures taken at Beach Club & Boardwalk with an outfit change and ended with a hundred or more pictures. You get a disc and a release for all the photos.

We used Thirteenth Moon Photography. The cost was right at $200 and Bill and Rachel are AMAZING! Super patient with our then almost 5 year old and very creative with some of our images too.

I don't know about the quality consistency from Disney photographers, but I feel like success with Bill & Rachel is guaranteed.

Good Luck!

Thanks for all the replies. I think I like the idea of some nicer photos at the resort better than park photos. We have so many of them. Now to look into the mini phot session!!
